Valet At New Yorker

First time I went in there, they ruined my brand new tie.
They gave me a store credit for the cost of the tie.
Now, the second time using them, I’ve notice there are pink spots all on the sleeve and cuff of my shirt, which is ruined.
I won’t be using them anymore

I’ve lived in the building for 6 months. I have never had an issue with them. Clothes are clean and ready on time. You can request a quicker turnaround if necessary. All laundered goods (normal wash and fold) have a 24 hour turn around. Friendly staff, good service.
My only issue is that it is a bit pricey. Otherwise it would be five stars.

DRY CLEANER FROM HELL!
I have never been so infuriated with a professional service company. I do consulting for a living so I know what service can mean to a company’s reputation and bottom line. Apparently, not the owners of NY Valet at the NY Towers. I’ve been coming to this dry cleaner/​wash and fold for 3 years, every week, and have spent more money than I should there. Normally, they are efficient and the clothes come back fine. Within the last year or so, things have gown downhill. My first incident about 2 years ago was when my blouse with some beading at the color came back with the beads missing. They were able to address it with minimal problems and reimbursed me for the amount of the blouse (it was brand new).
A few months ago, my tuxedo jacket came back (after having dry cleaned it at least 1x before at the same cleaners) with lumps of cotton displace all over the arm and the jacket. Their first reaction was not how we can fix the situation. Rather they blamed it on the manufacture of the tuxedo jacket and said the jacket was faulty. This is ridiculous as I have dry cleaned the same jacket before and it came back fine. After arguing back and forth again, they finally relented and credited some money back for the jacket. At this point, I have already stop giving them any dry-​cleaning that have high dollar value and have gone with Personal Touch cleaners. The only reason I still give them my things is that the attendant does try to fix the situation even as the owners have been unreasonable and non-​responsive to quality issues. Big mistake!!!
My newest incident is now sending me over the edge. I guess I should stop giving people second chances but I figure, they can’t possibly screw this up. My small dog (less than 10 lbs) accidently peed on my down comforter. I had a cover on it and so that and the down comforter was taken to the dry cleaner. The attendant suggested putting it in the wash and fold since they can bleach it. I took their advice (bad idea) and did that. The down comforter came back with a rip about 5 – 6 inches which let the feathers flew all over my room when I shook it out (I still find down feathers 2 weeks later even after cleaning my room numerous times since then). This was unacceptable! I gave it back to NY valet and they said they would see what they can do. It came back a week later with now a safety pin over the rip. This is unacceptable. To make the situation even worse, they are giving it back to me the 3^rd time this week with the rip now sewn together without any compensation for the fact that my down comforter now is missing a lot of down. If you have an expensive down comforter, you know that the price of the comforter is not really the fabric, it’s the DOWN FEATHERS. After arguing a few times more for the last 2 weeks, they offer NO reimbursement of my $ 400 comforter. I have never been so livid. I have never been treated so badly by a service company (after 3 years of weekly dry cleaning).
Now, I have to take drastic measures and file consumer complaints and other actions for them to reimburse me a decent amount for my comforter. I was not expecting the full amount, but NO reimbursements of the cost is unacceptable for the emotion distressed this company has giving me. I am hoping to spare the next tenants the same problems because no one should have to go through this.
