this store has closed??? Aw I just going to make a trip down there.
Its pretty spacious — stuff is well displayed. I never know what im looking for really when I go in & usually walk out with some thing cool & unique.
What you see is what you get– its a mish moshed sort of gothic, emo, cyber, fetish, & industrial fashion/​culture store. I got 2 cute red rockabilly dresses in there for cheap! They’ve also got some boots, shoes & accessories.
They’ve got some … well they HAD hair dyes, extensions, hats, make up… basicly anything to give yourself a serious make over into a cool new person. Another thing I REALLY liked was they had the best prices for this specific style of clothing. Its a better/​hyper boosted version of Hot Topic with way more economical & rarer finds. Be prepared to get in there & sift through those racks because you never know what you’re gonna come out with. And its worth it!
Maybe a very expensive vintage style dress in your size on clearance for $ 10. Just one.
Maybe some interesting 1 of a kind seeming skull designed pants for half off
or a cheaply made, hideously colored zip up sweater with pink green koala ears on the hood & mittens attached.
The dressing rooms and some places in the store had a glow effect
The staff was amazingly friendly and knowledgeable + they constantly had great sales, clearance and close out deals.
Always had some rocking tunes playing & for sale or sometimes they stuck free CDs & other stuff in my bag.
This was the official store of the site– they threw some really cool events.

This place has the coolest accessories and clothing anyone from the dark gothic subculture would want. There’s cds, books, small lamps, ornaments, handbags, plushies, collectables, goggles, gasmasks, collars, braclets, thigh high socks, hair dye, etc. The clothing… aww mannn. I wish I only had enough money to buy such cool looking items.
I always look around but I wind up going to the sale rack in the back because it’s the only thing I can somewhat afford. I usually have $ 30 I’m willing to spend and most things cost over that price. Goggles around $ 32. I bought a cool zip up shirt with detachable sleeves for $ 20 on the sale rack. It’s awesome and I love it!
It’s definitely a cool place to come check out or just hang out with the staff. Their very nice and pretty cool people. You can find out about different music you might like and never heard of, or maybe some local industrial or rave events. Don’t be afraid if it’s not your kinda place. you just may end up having second thoughts about the goth community.

I visited this store for the first (and last) the other day. The clothes, simply put, are garbage. The stuff here definitely leans toward the cyber goth aesthetic — bondage pants, etc., and are of very poor quality considering their price tags. The ladies outfits tend to run small, too. I think this store caters (whether intentionally or not) to the under 18 crowd, so older, more sophisticated Goths will feel left out in this store.

On the plus side, the staff here is super friendly and helpful. I kind of felt bad I left the store empty handed since the two people working that night were really sweet. In the front of the store they have a rack with fliers for all types of Goth events in the city. The accessories and toys were fun. I saw some cute handbags. They also sell magazines like Auxiliary. Even though the clothes suck, I still thought it was a fun store to browse.
I think if they carried a bigger variety of styles (instead of 30 different types of baggy black bondage pants), better quality stuff, and a larger selection of sizes I would go back.

most of the stuff is a little too Cyber-​Goth for my tastes, so i probably wouldn’t buy much unless it was on the more versatile end (something i can wear to the office or to a club). but the owner is a really nice guy, and he’s very knowledgeable on music and what looks good on people.

I’m not a goth but I do love interesting stores and this place is certainly cool from skulls to black cat hats this place has it all. It does lose major points with me because they require you to check your bag at the counter (only cus i had stuff stolen from me at other stores) other then that i suggest you check it out

I got a pair of «skeleton» gloves at VampireFreaks; saw a lot of Lip Service™ and other trendy labels on their clothes. Since black is a staple in my wardrobe, I don’t have a problem with the clothes being mostly black.
The staff is super-​friendly, which is a real plus; I also love that they regularly have blood drives with the New York Blood Center here. Damnit, with a name like VampireFreaks, they better.

Walked into this store the other day, reminiscing about my childhood goth days. So much has changed, and the quality of their products have gone down the drain. The prices on the clothing were marked up a little too high, and most of the clothing on sale looked like raver style.
Nothing creepy or scary about this store. I wish it was not so misleading.

Yes, some of the prices are a bit up there… but take into consideration the brands they carry, and it’s VERY fair pricing. The staff is extremely friendly and fun… Helpful if you need them, but you won’t find up your ass pushy sales people here. Black clothing? Yes. It’s a goth store, not rainbow brite’s play room. You’ll also find a ton of fun acccessories and collectibles here… Or, if you prefer, just stop in and chill with the staff. They’re really great people :]

Stopped here with a friend on our way to another store. I used to be Goth/​Punk what ever the hell you want to call it back in the day, and the stuff still interests me.
— THEY HAVE THE BEST PRICE ON MANIC PANIC (hair dye permanent or semi) YOU WILL EVER FIND.
— As you walk in, there is a wall full of mini-​flyers of events that happen all over the city (goth oriented). Most of them are 21+ but few 18+ ones.
— The staff is very welcoming, and will help you with clothes and even the event information.
— Things are a tad pricey, but there was this adorable silk little dress that I’m in love with.
— Mostly black clothing, they dont go crazy with color.

We took a mini-​trip to New York in early October. We decided to wander around aimlessly and were intrigued by the window décor. We stopped in and perused the clothing and other inventory. We tried on some latex, just for fun, and the clerks were nothing short of personable and knowledgeable.
The prices were a bit high, but nothing shocking. We spent at least a half hour just talking to the two men working the store that night. You can never judge a book by its cover … the piercings make look a bit freaky, but the employees and owner are knowledgeable, personable and a delight!
If we are ever in town again, we’ll be sure to stop in and say hello.

This is a really nice spot! We took our friends from Germany here and they liked the store. There is a selection there and THERE is color in the clothing. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I wish them all the best.

I stopped in to check out the latest addition to the goth/​punk stores in the area. While it’s true that Vampire Freaks does attempt to cater exclusively to that market (no bet-​hedging), their inventory choices really aren’t the best. There is a LOT of black, I saw almost no color in the store, period, and the styles aren’t interesting enough for me to want to drop $ 100 on a jacket. In my opinion, more stores need to take risks with their inventory, something I think Trash & Vaudeville has honed fairly well at this point.
On the plus side, friendly staff and moderate prices.
