This «store» is the eye center I have been searching for. I can’t say enough good things about the entire experience. Let me start with front desk, Martyna, then Lettie and Manny and Boris the manager. Manny has personally helped me beyond normal customer service. As well as Lettite trying to fit me with glasses. I am leaving the Dr. for last because he is SUPERB. patience and knowledge that is a rarity these days !!! I am very impressed by this Dr.‘s ability to understand the needs without me being able to always express properly !
I would recommend the services of VISTA eye CARE to anyone I encounter looking or not looking for eye care ! A standout in this neighborhood ! They have my families business for life!

DO NOT GO HERE. They will cheat you out of your money. I went here this past March to get a prescription for new contact lenses.
I came with glasses on instead of my contact lenses so it would be easier for the doctor to ascertain what prescription I needed (since taking off my glasses for the exam is faster than taking off my lenses for the exam). But when I actually got into the examination room with Dr. Dvoretsky, he ended up asking me about my current eye prescription and what kind of contacts I use. He said he needed to use that information to adjust me for new ones.
I thought I would leave with a prescription, but after the eye exam, he told me that he had to order in a trial pair of contact lenses for me to wear, then he could examine me again and determine the right prescription for me.
I paid for my appointment and waited to hear back about the trial pair of contact lenses. I didn’t hear back after a week or so, so I called the office. The receptionist seemed unsure what to say on the phone, so she put me on hold to talk to Dr. Dvoretsky. When she came back, she told me that since I have astigmatism, I would have to wait longer since the kind of lenses I needed were special.
I never heard back from this office. I never got a trial pair of contact lenses. I never got the contact lens prescription that I paid for.
These people are swindlers. Do not go here. Do not give them your money.

Helpful staff and fantastic doctors who take all insurance. Could not have asked for a better experience and from what I observe the office speaks three languages!

Wow I see such mixed reviews for VistaSite. I am surprised. I have been a patient and a customer here for 3+ years. They are wonderful. Two examples:
I wanted a pair of prescription sunglasses for a trip overseas. They told me they would be ready in time (it was like 3 days) and that was the reason I made the purchase. There was problems getting the lenses in time and the doctor literally drove them to my house at 10pm the night before I left so I would get them in time. That’s pretty good service, caring about their word that I would have my glasses in time.
Second example. I have a foster daughter who has medicare. She has a prescription for glasses and all the other places we went had no choices for lenses for her. Just awful. Not only did the other places have no frames, once they heard the insurance was medicare, the service was awful. I took her to VistaSite and they were not only loving and fun– they had dozens of frames for her to choose. All she wanted were orange glasses. Orange glasses she got.
Small businesses can’t always please everyone (I know, I am also a small business owner in Washington Heights) but we try really, really hard. They have always made a huge effort for me and my family and I’m a loyal customer because of it.

Out of love for my neighbors, I must write a second warning: DO NOT give these people your money. I never wore the $ 600 pair they sold me in 2013, which gave me headaches and scratched every time I breathed on them (see previous review of 8÷20÷13). I put them in a closet. Then last week I had my eyes checked again, and it turns out Vistasite had given me THE WRONG PRESCRIPTION. That’s right. They can’t even order lenses. Today I stopped by with my useless $ 600 glasses and the old prescription and very politely suggested they be checked against each other. The guy tried to blame it on my eye doctor. He made no apology and absolutely no effort to makes things right. So again — go anywhere but here for glasses. You’ll get ripped off, and you won’t be able to see, and when you complain, no one will care.

This is a first rate business, where customer service is a top priority. We first took our daughter here for glasses, because they take our insurance. Even though I doubt they made much on that pair of glasses, they have always been more than happy to put in the time. Any adjustments and tweaks are always done right.
When we wanted to get another pair we shopped around, but found ourselves back at vista. The quality of their products are top notch. We ended up getting our little girl a pair of amazing Safilo kids glasses, and the price was very good for the glasses.
I highly recommend going here, particularly for children.

They are the most honest optical business in Washington heights. Other places would charge me for an eye exam but they wouldn’t give me my prescription until I bought contact lenses or glasses from them. Well, Vista is great, honest, helpful. The doctor is knowledgeable and patient, took the time to explain everything and I felt great.

avoid this place! i went last year and everything was fine — this year ?
.horrible! altho the doctor did give me a very efficient and quick eye exam that was really good. after that felt like a 3 card monty scam to charge me the most possible. when i confronted the woman in there she was trying her best to be intimidating and rude but that didn’t work with me. I’ve alerted my insurance company and they will be doing an investigation. do your self a favor find a reputable eye place — theres plenty of them — I’ve never experienced this with any kind of doctor in my life!

do not go here! this place is a joke! !!! i waited 4 whole months for them to tell me that my insurance did not cover for my contacts. the dr was so rude to me ! the receptionist had a very bad attitude. i do not recommend this place. never again! again do not go here unless you want to waste your time!

I went in today and asked the reciptionist a question. She seemed bothered by my one question on the insurances. Yeah theres plently of other practices that I can take my buisness to.

Frames are overpriced, and just from the treatment I got from the woman behind the counter I decided I’d never go back there. Very unpleasant, unfriendly «customer service».

This place is amazing! Vistasite Eye Care is a very welcoming eye care center with friendly, caring, and attentive doctors and staff. Dr. Vladimir was very thorough with my exam and highly knowledgeable of my eye needs. After addressing all of my questions and concerns, staff at Vistasite Eye Care made me feel right at home while picking out a few new frames from their large selection. My overall experience was an absolute pleasure-​from booking my appointment to picking up my new specs (which I love!). I would definitely recommend Vistasite Eye Care to anyone in the Washington/​Hudson Heights area.

Dr. Orloff is awesome! I would highly recommend Vistasite Eye Care to anyone, I have never had a bad experience. Dr. Orloff is very knowledgeable, he took his time with me, and explained everything. The entire staff are very friendly and make you feel at home. I trust Dr. Orloff with my vision, he is a great doctor!

I am generally very distrustful of doctors, due to multiple traumatic experiences, especially with eye doctors, but my experience at Vista Site put me at ease. Dr. Orloff is knowledgeable, thorough, and gentle. His entire staff is attentive and caring. If ever a doctor’s appointment could be a pleasure, this was it. My profession relies on my vision, and I trust this team completely to keep my eyes healthy and my vision at its best. I won’t go to anyone else for my eye care needs. I HIGHLY recommend.

If I could give no stars I would, I’ve always got my contacts and glasses from this place just because it’s close and convenient. They’ve never been that great, but this visit was horrible. The doctors are nice, they do their job, but the sales woman «Letty» is probably the most unpleasant sales associate I’ve ever come across. The glasses are clearly overpriced by a hundred dollars and this woman will do anything for you to pay hundreds more than you need to. By the end of the sale the bill was beyond a decent price and when I asked her to explain step by step where all this money came from she got the nastiest attitude an basically tried to downgrade my intelligence. I just wanted an explanation! It’s my money, I want to know where it’s going! She’s awful. They need to get rid of her.

The doctors here are great! I went in for an eye exam and was very pleased with my experience. The staff was friendly and helped me pick out the perfect frames. They were reasonable priced too for the quality. Overall good experience and would definitely recommend

Every aspect of my visit was pleasant. From the front desk, to the eye exam, and choosing the prefect frame, everyone was polite and helpful. I’ve been having trouble with my insurance lately but they figured out the issue and didn’t just dismiss me. The eye doctor was very good with children and the person who helped choose a frame was very patient. Great selection of frames available. I was also offered an upgrade for better coating for the lenses and along with it free replacement throughout the year for free if anything happens. Perfect.

This is way more than just a place to get your prescription. Dr. Orloff was great with our son when he had some medical issues with his eyes. Mike and his staff helped us pick out quality eyeglasses for the family that looked great and were reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

I had the misfortune of going to this place earlier this evening. I should have been clued off by the fact that they asked me to sign a green form for the bill that was not even filled in. Hmm, hope they have a good record keeper because I’m going to recommend that my insurance company look into this place for insurance fraud. The optometrist was nice enough, but should have been more careful when using the dropper to administer drops to my eyes because he touched my eyeball with the dropper. Really? And things really went downhill after consulting with Leddy (?) an optician, at least I think this is her name– dark hair, speaks Spanish and English, smoked up looking. I was wary but pleased by her personable manner as she took me through a lengthy consultation in which she basically tried to high pressure me into paying over $ 900 for lenses and frames I now see I can get for a third of the price that they tried to make me think I was getting a deal on by giving me a $ 200 discount from $ 1,100. She then acted like a classless money grubber because I was reluctant to fork over money before I had done some comparison shopping. I’m glad they didn’t get a red cent from me because they are ridiculously overpriced. When I said that they could use my optical certificate as a hold on the overpriced glasses I was actually willing to buy is when Leddy turned nasty like she had flipped a switch telling me oh no, I was gonna have to fork over some money to hold the glasses and that the certificate was for the visit. Well, my job is relatively new and since I’m just beginning to use my benefits I wasn’t sure but now I know they have tried to rip me off in several ways; first with the glasses and then telling me that I could not get my certificate back because it would be used to pay the visit and if they returned the certificate, I would have to pay for the visit. When I got home I confirmed that I have $ 0 copay for in network specialists which Dr. Orloff is. Now there was an optician named Marc (?) who did the first part of the eye exam so maybe they have some scam going where unsuspecting people schedule an appointment to see one person and they try to bill for two. Anyway, I’m getting to the bottom of it tomorrow and not only will they return my certificate and give me my prescription which I forgot due to the screaming match between me and Leddy, but I will let my insurance and union plan know what kind of shady operation they run. STAY AWAY. I told her I had never dealt with such rudeness from service help in my life. But I do have to thank her because I did find the pair of Versace frames they tried to sell for $ 450 which I can get for $ 130, and I’m sure that the price of the $ 800 lenses they were pushing was laughably inflated, but I got a lot of information I will use elsewhere. I may even call 311 and the city/​state agencies that license the business as well as the individuals just because that is how seriously they offended my sensibilities.

Good value and good options for price-​conscious, more on the modest side consumers.
Staff are helpful and doctor is professional.
Very good to have an optometrist in the area — and one that offers a range of services and can get you in for an appointment. I guess for those who work, 8 am would be a good time for them to open. No optometrist in their right mind works that early. (Or on Sundays, for that matter).
