Went here for dinner the other night with family after having walked by the place that morning. From the outside, the place is very inviting. Once inside, we realized everything is pre-​packaged and pre-​made, either sitting in a refrigerated area or under warmers. The color of the sushi looked strange… definitely not fresh. We did not get any of those. The hot food looked a little better. We ordered several hot items and a couple of triangle seaweed rice wraps. The taste of the triangle wraps was not bad. The hot items were meh. I mean what else would we have expected from food that had been sitting out for God knows how long. My 10-​yr-​old had a stomachache after. Maybe the food is better at lunch when there is quicker turnaround on the items? I don’t recommend eating here for dinner.

I really wanted to like Wasabi more. Having walked past it many times before, I decided to hop in today for a quick lunch. I love the interior design (glass everywhere so you can see outside), the selection of the food and the concept of Wasabi. They have a large selection of sushi and nigiri (2 pieces for $ 3), there are also bento boxes (ranging from $ 8 – 10), the triangle seaweed rice rolls, and the seaweed rolls.
The food, however, was not impressive. We got a tofu curry bento box (since that was the only vegetarian option) and a hand seaweed roll. The bento box had 2 potstickers and a weird fried potato-​ish like thing on top — we were not a fan of either — the potstickers mushy and the potatoes were eh. The rice in the bento box was a bit hard — it tasted like it was leftover from last night and not reheated well. I can make curry on my own from cubes easily so the bento box at $ 8 was incredibly underwhelming. The hand seaweed roll was confusing — it didn’t taste bad, but it was difficult to eat. The instructions ask you to remove the whole seaweed leaving you with the clump of rice and fillings (bc it was not attached), then you open up the container with the seaweed and then attempt to roll the rice in the seaweed — not hard right? sad part is the seaweed started cracking and it was very hard to eat. Maybe we aren’t doing it right — but I had never seen a seaweed roll not made/​rolled already. As we ate our stuff, I regretfully gazed out at the Maoz across the street corner.
The other meat bento boxes looked pretty good, which is why I’m giving Wasabi 3 stars. Hopefully I’ll swing by another day and try those.

Wasabi is my absolute favorite lunch spot in midtown. They sell individual pieces of Nigiri, box sets, udon and rice bowls. The location is clean, efficient and does provide seating inside.
I normally get the individual nigiri pieces (pictured) which is usually $ 15 for 10 depending on which I select that day.
Do not miss this place! :)

Wasabi Sushi 7 Bento has not lived up to its London parent location. While the sushi and other prepared meals are a bargain, the soups especially the ramen and udon noodle soups are some of the worst you can find. It is a shame because I live for hot noodle soups. I waited a year to give this place another chance. It was worse than I could have even imagined. Somehow I still have hope that their former quality soups will return!

Right next to Times Square, they have wide varieties of boxed sushi/​sashimi/​salads. Great place to grab a quick lunch. Quick service, they have ⁵⁄₆ lines to check out in rush lunch hours.
They also have seating area but they get filled super quickly shortly after noon. This place is big, bright, it think it’d be a pleasant experience to dine there.

This place is a solid 3 star option in the Times Square area. I work very nearby, but don’t come here often because of the average food quality and high prices. The selection ranges from sushi trays to bento boxes including savory options like Chicken Katsu. The selection is quite good for a lunch spot. However, the location makes for a very crowded and in my opinion unpleasant dining experience. The restaurant is typically very crowded during the lunch area with limited seating. Additionally, lunch is well over $ 10 for a filling meal. The food never seems particularly fresh, and I’d rather save myself for delicious sushi, which can be found at many restaurants in the city. If you are nearby with a craving for Japanese, it’s not a bad option, but overall would not recommend going out of your way.

Wasabi is a popular fast food lunch spot in the UK, happy to see them here in NYC.
Food is very similar but I find the portion is a lot bigger here (what’s new).
The usual suspect, sushi, hot bento with drinks.
Also, they do green tea soft icecream– which I really wanna try during proper NYC summer.
I would have given this place 10 stars if I can… LOL

This is not my first visit to Wasabi, but my first one in US. Have been to Wasabi London for many times, I tended to compare the two. While the one in London (near Moorgate) was much smaller, it was also on the cleaner side.
Indeed, Wasabi was a good option if you are tired after a long day of work and just prefer something simple and stuffy, and they do have lots of choices, ranging from healthy side pokebowls, to assorted sushi boxes, to bento boxes and ramen/​udon, which were prepared fresh. Not have a big appetite, I grabbed a small bowl of cold salad noodle. For small, I really meant it — two bites plus a small shrimp and that was it. Really cannot complain too much given the price tag (3 dollars something)…
Regular rice bowls and ramen cost around 10 dollars, which could be a good deal if flavor can be justified. Without trying them yet, I will leave this place three star.

This was actually the highlight of my trip, it’s sushi heaven. Very darling décor and seating provides a view of the busy New York streets. You grab a cardboard box, fill it up with sushi pieces and head to the register. Pricing isn’t bad. They also have boxes that are already filled with a variety of sushi pieces if you are in a rush.

This place is either right at, or just a hair above sub-​par. Ideal for the quick Japanese lunch during your the work hour. It’s fast food Japanese. You get what you pay for and that’s pretty much all to it.
The only unique thing about this place is that you’re able to pick and choose, from individually wrapped pieces of sushi/​sushi rolls, and put them in a personalized bento box. Pretty cool, if you’re into unwrapping each piece of sushi. Otherwise, it’s kind of a pain in the butt.
Ramen is good. Plentiful.
Hot meals are OK. Knowing your meal isn’t necessarily cooked to order makes searching for the hottest bowl of food that much more tedious.

I was visiting NYC from Los Angeles and had just exited a train station. I was making my way back to my hotel when I spotted Wasabi.
Wasabi was unique to me, I’ve been to dozens of Sushi places in Los Angeles but I liked the quick, cafeteria style atmosphere of Wasabi. I loved how everything was laid out and ready to be picked up, even the drinks. I didn’t grab any sushi rolls, I went for the salmon and rice bento box instead. I also had a side of seaweed salad. Everything was super delicious and the portions were just right for me. I we famished after walking around NYC all morning and Wasabi hit the spot.
Even though it was super busy and crowded (it’s a hop, skip and a jump from Times Square) I still managed to find a seat. My only issue was the proximity to the guests next to us, it meant zero privacy as far as conversations went. I was there to eat though, not chat, but even so. I got an earful of how my neighbor was in the music biz and what they were up to during their tour.
I liked the clean, white and green vibe to Wasabi. It had a good aesthetic appeal. I truly wish the LA area had a Wasabi or something similar to it. It was fast, easy, and hit the spot!

Price point is on average give the location and it being sushi, but compare it to the quality of sushi and you feel ripped off.

Food is decent, not extremely GREAT but does help the sushi craving. I come here mainly because it’s a bit different from a regular sushi restaurant. You have the option of buying a small portion of sushi that you want or buy in a variety of bento box. Prices are reasonable because of where it’s located it at, and the quality isn’t bad. It’s a good place to stop and grab a quick bite or during lunch hours but wouldn’t recommend if you’re in the city and wanting to try something different and unique.
Recommend:
1. Chicken goyza
2. Spicy lobster sushi (super spicy but tasty).
3. Edamame salad

Even if they weren’t a block away from my workplace, I’d still go! A wonderfully affordable lunch spot for your Japanese munchy needs in a wonderfully accessible location. Their variety is really amazing, they have maki, handrolls, various salads, bento, katsu, noodle dishes, various snacks and more, all at a very affordable price. Personally, I’m guilty of being frustrated with the lack of yakisoba/​yakiudon options in the city, but the yakiudon here is just so wonderfully satisfying in taste and portion size that I feel confident in checking off Wasabi as my go-​to for those cravings!
The rolls are also not bad, though I admit I tend to lean towards the bentos for convenience; if you’re particular about your sushi/​maki, then consider ordering something else here!
Be wary during weekday lunch times, lines can get extremely long especially if you’re ordering ramen or any other not prepared bento dish. It’s unsurprising for the location, but be wary regardless! Seating is almost always filled, it’s best to just take your food and eat elsewhere during lunch in my opinion.

So neat and organized well. I think Wasabi is good for taking out, bento is packed already, so you don’t need to wait so long.

This is a great take-​away spot located near the Times Square. Not the best sushi, of course, but food quality was not bad at all! Individually-​wrapped nigiri sushi and hand rolls looked clean and adorable. Prices were very reasonable; noodles and rice bowls such as yakisoba, udon noodle soup, chicken katsu curry over rice, Unagi don (eel over rice), etc. were priced in the $ 9 to $ 13 range, and most of them looked pretty decent! I loved the veggie curry (just the sauce, no rice whatsoever) in a small cup that I bought for $ 1.95 only, which was OMG what a steal! The Yakisoba was A-​ok but the salmon nigiri and sashimi were fresh and delicious. What made me sad was that the matcha (green tea) soft-​serv ice cream machine had gone out of order *cries*

The food here is decent. They have interesting sushi combinations. Normal New York prices. I used to frequent the ones in London. The sushi was either better there or I was hungrier there. Or maybe because Wasabi was actually considered cheap in London.
This place is great for some quick sushi, but for these prices, you can find something better.

Very modern and brightly lit fast food sushi type place. There are a variety of sushi, onigiri, bento boxes pre-​packaged that you just grab and pay for. You can even mix and match different pieces of nigiri and sushi. They also have a hot food selection that you can order from. The lines move pretty quick and overall the prices are reasonable. My sister and I spent less than $ 10 each for lunch. The seating inside is a bit small even though the area seems spacious. If you come during lunch time, it’s like a battle trying to find a seat.
The food was pretty good. It wasn’t blow your mind amazing, but it wasn’t as bad as other grab and go joints. With such a high volume of people, the turnover was pretty fast so you don’t have to worry about the sushi sitting out for too long. There was someone to restock the food while we were picking our pieces.

Concept wise — a great place, I’d be happy if I see more such places around where I live or travel. When in a hurry, go in, visually inspect the food and select what I feel like eating. The pricing was ok too, considering that they are renting prime space in Manhattan.
I wish the food was better though. Quality was what you pay for, but I did not find the food tasty. I picked up some vegetarian sushi packets from the wall and also took vegetarian noodles in the box. Both were average. They were not bad, but not good either. I finished my meal, but do I want to eat it again. No.

Honestly, although the food was not all that impressive, I think this restaurant deserves a lot of credits. Wasabi meant to be a pre-​made fast food restaurant (not a standard sushi bar or a Izakaya), and it did its job right. Plus, sushi is relatively healthy to all the other options in that area.
I got why people are so critical to this place since I’m a big foodie myself, but please lower the standard of your taste buds when you’re in a fast food restaurant.
I think the price was fair, and really convenient. The atmosphere of the restaurant is clean and friendly. Also, they have wifi that actually works — it was helpful because I didn’t have data & I was trying to meet up with someone at the time (none of the other free wifi in Time Square area actually works for me for some reasons). On top of all of these, the amount of the food is great. I order a chicken katsu bento — I had an entire bowl of free curry and miso soup on top of that. It was great.
Again, the food was not impressive. If I’m living in that area, Wasabi would not be a place I bring my friends to. However, I would visit it often alone for its convenience & the amount of the food.

Das Sushi das man sich hier aus Regalen zusammensucht ist frisch und lecker. Es gibt Menüvariationen und auch für nicht-​sushi Esser ist etwas warmes vorhanden (Ente, Hühnchen). Es wird hauptsächlich als Takeout verwendet aber es gibt auch einige Sitzplätze.
In den späten Abendstunden (21+ Uhr) kann das eine oder andere schon mal ausgehen.
