If you like being condescended to and berated by your bartender, this is the place for you! I was here last winter. Asked how late they’re open til. Got an earful about«look around? Would you stay open until 4 if you were the owner?» Then blah blah and blah. I was just asking a question, buddy. Chill. The stars are for the whiskey.

Not a good looking crowd, very disappointing. When I go somewhere, I expect the best, I do not like to waste my time, I got out right away!

Lots of suits on a Thursday night. My three-star breakdown: Space — There’s only three restrooms so time accordingly. Service — A bit slow. Definitely room for improvement. No Fear Cocktail — If you’re a fan of whiskey cocktails, I recommend the«No Fear» cocktail. I was looking for something sweet, but not overpoweringly street. This is normally on the bitter side, but the bartender sweetened it for me. Hennessy Paradis — Smooth and full bodied. The glass they served it in did not do it justice. Please get nicer glasses.

this place is just awful. I came here with a group of appx. 20 ppl after my wedding on 11.25.15. I made a reservation and the venue was aware that we would be coming in around 1 am. Upon our arrival, a few guests in our group ordered drinks and then my brother– in– law ordered a bottle for us. About 15 minutes after the bottle was served to us two rude employees approached us and told us that we had to leave. The place was empty and they claimed they were closing. The bottle was not even half way done and they were kicking us out! i could not believe the lack of professionalism and hospitality these employees showed our group. I’m still in shock. Why serve a bottle to us and take our money if you plan on kicking us out 15 minutes later? This was extremely embarrassing and a horrible way to end my wedding night. i regret ever considering this venue as my after hour spot and will never return.

My wife and I came in here after a jazz session at Dizzys down the street. It was a Sunday, our last night in NYC and as we were walking back to our hotel, we noticed this place. We sat at a table at first, but we ended up sitting at the bar. The bartender Lauren was fantastic. It actually was her birthday(midnight) and we ended up shutting down the place. We chatted with Chris from Maryland, Lauren and Forrest, an aspiring actor originally from San Antonio. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for. At my age, this is the type of bar I prefer. We tried Whiskey Traders down on 55th one night and I could not get off on that atmosphere and the bartender there was aloof, if you can imagine that. So yes, I had a memorable time here.

I should’ve probably given three stars but I actually like the place so four it is. The location and ambience is great, it’s a bit on a pricey side which is normal for the area. Great selection of whiskey and other spirits, decent selection of wines(we’ve tasted New Zeland SB and ended up ordering a bottle — delish!), great for a date night or a late night glass of wine with a friend. I’ve been here a couple of times and haven’t had any issues with service so far, besides it is a cocktail bar after all and stellar service is not something you come to a bar for. My biggest issue however was the food situation: apparently they get all their food from Rue 57, who seem like they could not care less. They have no kitche of their own, so when the cheese plate(which was very disappointing to begin with) came with only two(!) slices of bread, it took another 45 mins to get 4 more… The bartender informed me it has been an issue for a while and the manager was very nice and apologetic, and understand it’s not their fault at all. My advice to whoever came up with this food delivery system: either think it over so it makes sense or simply take the food off the menu making it simple for both staff and customers. Conclusion: I will definitely be back but will only stick with the drinks.

Go there classy and go there with deep pockets. Expect to meet beautiful and well maintained older women with a lot of sophistication and expect the bartenders and staff to have high expectations. If you don’t tip well or look the part then don’t expect 5 star service, especially if you’re ordering beer or sipping on the same cocktail/drink for an hour at a time. During the week is my favorite time to go as it is super quiet. I usually slip in there quietly with a lady and hide out for the evening. Intimate, classy and a higher end crowd.

Everyone knows I love a good bar. This place is a great location because it will attract tourists and suits alike due to its proximity to offices and Central Park. Place looks great and has that upscale look and feel to it. Prices are high as they should be given the locale. This should be my kind of joint. I came in here with the lady friend to meet with a friend who lives in the residential building above. Not sure if I will ever frequent this establishment again. I’m all about second chances, but not sure if this one is deserving. When you go to a bar you expect attentive staff to provide prompt service. It really isn’t too much to ask for. It wasn’t even busy. We got here first, and grabbed a seat immediately at the bar. The name of the bartender was Daniell. We know our drinks, so it wouldn’t take more than a minute for us to make up our minds. It took her a whole five minutes to get back to us. If it was busy, then totally understandable. It was not. We were actually the only people at the time. What happened was she was more interested in chit chat mode with her two colleagues. They would even bring out their phones and amuse themselves during this time that we were ready to order. Don’t know about you, but that’s pretty lame and unacceptable in this industry. As a manager this is a habit that should not be tolerated. So it gets better. Our friend comes in and we grab a chair for her. She waits almost 10 minutes to order a drink. At this time there were approximately 8 people including us at the bar. And she still makes time to stay at the other end of the bar to chit chat and play with her phone. Oh come on get real. Needless to say we walked out completely unsatisfied with the experience. Our friend is a former bar owner of nearly 30 years, so imagine how peeved she was. She would have been fired on the spot at her establishment. I begrudgingly tipped accordingly. I usually give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe I will waltz back in, and hopefully have a better experience. Horrible first impression.

Nice spot across from Central Park that pretty much had every type of whiskey you could ever want. They sell food but it’s a long wait as its catered in from neighboring restaurants.

What I love about this place: 1. FREEPOOL! 2. The BEST Cosmo in all of NYC. Go on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings because that is when the bartender who makes them works. Yes, I asked him what his shifts are. 3. Swanky leather couches, swanky atmosphere, swanky overall. Makes me want to puff on a cigar while I wait for my wife to give birth in the next room. 4. The waitress was super nice, constantly checking up on us for drink refills. She gave us complimentary shots at the end of the night(whatever whiskey we wanted). 5. It’s right by the NQR train on Central Park South. For the location, the price isn’t too bad! 6. Did I mention FREEPOOL? 7. The pool table was well maintained, unlike the one in Dumbo that looked and felt like it was about to disintegrate. No missing balls, table was tilted in anyway(making it impossible to sink any shot), and the stick were not on the wrong side of crappy. Highly recommend! Will be frequenting here after work on Fridays from now on! FREEPOOL!

Nice trendy bar in midtown across from Central Park. Came here to see my DJ friend play, music started at 9 on a Saturday night. Good mix of R&b, hip hop and pop. It’s a nice after work spot or pre-game for some drinks. They don’t have much of a food variety as they don’t have a kitchen. You order the food separately and they get it delivered through an outside vendor. We got a cheese plate and it came with basically nothing except for 2 pieces of crostini. The drinks are pricey too, expect to pay $ 16 for a martini or old fashion. There are pool tables in the other room and very lounge areas.

This is a nice place for a casual drink with a friend or a first date. There’s candle lighting and nice leather couches and the feeling that everyone is trying just a little too hard. It’s also way more expensive than it needs to be. I had one of their signature Manhattans(stormy Manhattan? smoggy Manhattan? the actual name escapes me.) I found it overly sweet and a bit strange that it was served in a martini glass, but it was strong and made with nice liquor.

I was there after work on Friday. Classy lounge, moderate size, dim lighting. Crowd is mostly men in their 30’s, 40’s and up. Dressy attire. I got a gin and tonic, and my friend got a gin gimlet. Drinks are okay. I expected better for their prices. BTW huge ice cubes. We ordered their sliders, fries, sushi rolls, spicy tuna sushi(on crispy rice, so good!) and spicy mayo shrimps(delicious!). Waiters didn’t bring us utensils until I asked them, I expected them to know better. There is a nice pool table at the back. Call dibs on it. I expected better drinks and service, food is spot on and it is a pleasant place to hang out.

With few and far between, Whiskey Park is exactly the type of bar you would expect by Central Park. Most bars around here will be hotel lounges with signature cocktails and extravagant prices, so long as you know that’s where the evening is leading you, you’ll enjoy yourself. I was impressed by the sheer ability that Whiskey Park managed to put a billiards table in the bar. I’m glad I tried a signature drink, the Strawberry Mojito was spot on!

Came here for pre dinner drinks… first take was ehhh this place is full of suits. But we took a seat at the bar… it wasnt busy for a saturday night which was fine by us. Bartendrous was nice. Made freinds with the owner I’m assuming, had a good talk about whiskeys. Ending up finding a new whiskey to add to our collection. We actually came back after our dinner reservations, crowd was definately different after dark. We will probably be back again… it was a nice expereince, but alittle pricey.

Quiet during the week days so it is easy to get seating at one of their tables with couches. They have a pool table in the back and it isn’t too loud. During the weekend it turns more into a «club-ish» scene. The music is louder and they usually play the pop songs that are current as well as some«bar favorites» like journey here and there. Atmosphere is nice… Dim lighting with tables and couches to sit on as well as smaller tables or the bar to drink at.
