History

Established in 1900.

Founded in 1900 by local women who wanted to do something to help the blind, the Xavier Society for the Blind has clients throughout the United and some services are available in Canada and other foreign countries. We have consistently been in the forefront of adapting technology to serving the blind community. Our primary focus is religious and spiritual material, predominantly Roman Catholic, but our library has authors from many different faiths. We also do material in response to specific requests, and we have an active outreach to veterans.
