This our go to spot in the outskirts of Chinatown proper for tasty soups. It doesn’t get much cheaper than these prices. Their clientele is mainly Fujian chinese so order by pointing at the pictures on the wall. My favorite is meatball soup with noodles for $ 4. The wontons they make are also very delicate and not the large dumpling like things you get in Cantonese restaurants.

The large order of dumplings for $ 3 is hard to beat for the value and could suffice as a meal unto themselves. I suppose one could argue that $ 3 is a lot compared with Lam Zhou or Prosperity’s $ 2 plate, but I’ll concede the $ 1 difference and say these were quite good. Generously filled with pork and scallions and cooked to just the right level of tender chewiness — I will happily seek these out again. I’m at a loss as to the popularity of the peanut butter wheat noodles. They were only $ 2, so perhaps I shouldn’t have expected too much, but they literally tasted like a bowl of overcooked store bought noodles slicked with heated Skippy peanut butter. Even some basic inexpensive touch ups like chopped peanuts on top would have gone a long way to vary the mouthfeel. The server included a very simple, but tasty cup of soup with the order of dumplings, which was a pleasant surprise and greatly appreciated. I would like to go back and try more from this simple, yet homey Chinatown hole-in-the-wall.

Ventured into the depths of Chinatown for the best $ 5 meal — wheat noodles with peanut sauce and a large order of dumplings. Let those suckers soak in the sauces(you get both –mild and spicy, which is not burning hot) and enjoy authentic dining on the cheap.

This little dive has a short menu, appears to be quite popular with the kids getting out of school and must have the most aromatic peanut sauce ever. The name attracted me to it. who names a restaurant after fishballs? Interestingly enough there are more meat items than fish balls on menu. I had the fishball soup as a light snack; add the peanut sauce noodles, as everyone in there but me seemed to be eating, and you get a tasty meal. Place is clean and service is Quick and friendly. Will be back to try the peanut sauce! Oh nothing on the menu is over$ 5 and most items are $ 3. Fish ball soup and noodles equals meal for $ 5. Great if you are on the run. The kids like to est and linger! Two long counters for dining all face the wall.

Found my new place for dumplings! Their dumplings come in a set of 8 for $ 2 and it’s sooo good. The skin is thin yet smooth and the filling is packed full of flavor.
