Yun Xiang Tea Shop

This was one of the weirdest and most wonderful tea experiences I’ve ever had. Definitely, the weirdest.
I’m a casual fan of Chinese teas and have been to most shops in the Northeast. Back in 2007, my favorite shop closed and I have not found a good replacement since.
Stumbled into this shop randomly one day. At first I was hesitant because this place is basically a walk-​in closet with a picnic table in the middle. You’re surrounded by boxes of teaware, plastic cups, not quite Hoarders: Buried Alive, but give it a few years.
The shop owner seemed nice enough, I asked her if she did tea service and she said $ 5 per person. That’s a very low price, so I assumed either the tea was terrible or I was going to have to buy something, or both.
We sat down and she proceeded to make a tea based on my preferences. The part that was weird was that she then sat down and started to drink the tea with us. A small cup for us, a big cup for her. What followed was 3 of the best teas I’ve ever had in my life and two hours of her talking rapid fire about all things tea.
At one point it dawned on me that this woman must drink gallons of tea each day and is really living a tea lover’s dream (if she sleeps at all). She’s like a Chinese Mad Hatter, throwing a crazy tea party every day.
In the end, she did only charge us $ 5 per person and sold me some of the finest teas I’ve ever bought. I tasted them against the best stuff I had at home, my conclusion is that Yun Xiang Tea Shop is impressive in both quality and price. This place really brought the tea joy back into my life and I’ve only been there once.
If you don’t mind the tight seating and want great tea, this is the place. Be prepared to pay a little extra if you pay by card.

I know in current contemporary young people doesn’t really drink tea that much. However, since i tasted the original and traditional Chinese tea in this tea shop I can distinguished the quality of the tea from other Chinese restaurant. I could not believe that the tea i drank in the restaurant is like a trash by compared to the Real Chinese Tea. My friends and me now are addicted to this place. I also setting this place as my Top 1 Gift Shop.
