If I could give this place no stars I would. I love Zara clothing but this is by far the most problematic Zara location in NYC! every time I go in to shop, young associates appear snooty with the nastiest attitudes and the unhelpful, too! From time to time, I witness the bourgeoisie management come downstairs from whatever high horses they’re sitting on and are just as unhelpful! There’s one particular hispanic guy (I am Hispanic), with a long weave ponytail who seems more interested in fixing his filthy hair than assisting customers!!! I see him almost every weekday evening at Zara and he has the snarkiest remarks for anyone searching for a size on a table when he’s not redoing his hair every 5 minutes in front of a mirror!!! Maybe if you gave the least bit of service to your walk-​ins, ppl wouldn’t be redecorating your table!!! And I won’t even begin with the females who work here! I worked in retail all my college years and have only seen these stores become more desperate for sloppy, unethical workers with no sense of professionalism!!! Customer service via phone doesn’t fall far from this either! Talk about 30 minute holds for one simple stock check during non prime time hours! I get the run around EVERY SINGLE TIME! I get put on 5 holds between multiple workers until I’m forced to hang up and call back with a burning frustration! If you cannot accommodate one simple stock check, then say so!!! It’s better than keeping someone on hold for half an hour and being asked for the fifth time, «hi, what are you calling for again?» PLEASE. STOP. Teach your workers good customer service and most importantly, your management!!! Your workers are merely a reflection of their management!!! I am sure the European creators behind Zara wouldn’t be happy about this! Especially with dedicated Zara purchasers who spend tons of money and appreciate the affordable, quality clothing!!!

Poorly managed checkout counters. I expected long lines on weekends so I went to the store in the morning to return one item. All returns were directed to the second floor (although I’m sure all checkout counters are capable of processing returns). The staff slowly processed returns while the line was building up across the floor. No additional counter was open (although there was a person counting change at the adjacent un-​used counter). Just my luck, 2 returns in front of me required manager approval (I was first in line at this point). At least a dozen announcements were made for the manager. The mysterious manager never turn up for 20 minutes. Both return counters were stuck, just waiting for the manager who clearly could not hear the announcement, or simply not even in the store. Finally I asked the ladies working the counter to see if it’s possible to ask one of the handful of people working on the floor to look for the manager given it’s obvious that she was not responding to the announcements. I received blank looks and «yeah…but we don’t know where she is». I responded «there’s only so much space in the store and stock room surely someone can find her.» They said «yeah» and did nothing, continued to stare blankly at the long line. I had to leave for an appointment. I was in line for 30min, accomplishing nothing.
Yes, long lines at Zara stores is common. This particular store is worse than most. When long lines are formed in front of the registers on both floors, there is no effort made to open more counters. If you want to try something on then checkout, expect to spend at least an hour in the store given the lineSSS (check out, and fitting room), even if you are a fast shopper.

Love Zara but this store is ALWAYS understaffed. Always a really long line for the fitting room and or registers. Like, lines of 10+ people on weekends, with not all the registers open.

Love their clothes but the line to check out, try on, and return are always so long! Even if I purchase something online and have come into the store to return its painful. Need more employees working.

One of the worst shopping experiences I’ve ever had. I won’t be shopping at Zara anymore. The lines are ridiculously long and the cashiers take forever with one single customer. The service is also terrible.

Horrible customer service! Waited for a half hour to return one item. Manager refused to put anyone else on register to help out even after one customer complained quite loudly.

Clothes are of the moment.

The workers are so rude. They don’t help at all and have such a bad attitude.

So I ordered a few dresses through Zara online and opted to pick it up at this store. To start off, NO ONE knew where to pick up my package. After wandering, I went downstairs and could pick up my package from there. It took half n hour for them to find it and had to verify its me with 2 forms of ids and my credit card. I then went to try the clothes on and they were all pilled and stained! I had to wait another 20 minutes just to return the clothing. The staff had no manners and were disrespectful to all the customers. Never. Again.

I would give zero star if I could. The worst customer service. Rude staff. I went there to pick up my order, and I asked one staff, «Can you help me?» and the woman gives me a pained, confused look with no answer. For a second I thought she was not a sales clerk, but she was, and just pointed to the stairs and said «Go downstairs.» I went downstairs and there is only one sales clerk, who was helping a customer. When he was done with the customer, I approached him and asked if he could help me, and he said, «No, I’m on my break.» and walked away. Huh?
I got in line for the lone cashier, who was dealing with a customer with ’31 items to return’ and that took a good 25 minutes.
This is the reason why I no longer shop in retail stores. Online shopping is a million times better!

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in a NY store!
Mislabled merch. Neither the sales person nor the register person noticed it.
I over paid.
Impossible to locate sales people.
Rikisha, the rude and nasty manager was insufferable.
Not to mention the Nazi Sawstika purses!
Faulty merch.
I bought a jacket that was not only mislabled size wise, but merch wise.
It was marked M but was actually xs.
I went to exchange it and could not find the same jacket in correctly marked size, so chose to return it.
They do not have an exoress exchange return lane, and the place was packed.
The rude and suspicious manager refused to let me express through the very long line even though the mistakes were made by the sales and register people.
I will never shop here again.

The slowest, unorganized check out ever. 20 minute wait for 4 people ahead of me. Sales girls talking rather than helping. Should have opened another register — unbelievable.

Good quality and reasonably priced men’s merchandise. The fit can be somewhat challenging if you are not svelte. I would say avoid it on the weekends when it can be madness. Go during the week to get the best service. Also I should not that like many of their locations there is no seating for spouses to wait while the other is shopping. That would make my customer experience so much better especially after a long shopping sojourn with tired feet.

Same clothes at all NYC Zara locations, but this one is special as they only hire staff with personality disorders.

Horrible staff. There is a bathroom in the dressing room on the first floor. My mother while trying on clothes got ill and asked to use the restroom. The staff REFUSED her. As it was an emergency, she went in anyway. They tried to remove her from the bathroom! They HUMILIATED her in front of the store. It was horrific. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. It is such a shame that they have such inflexible people — I would like to know what they would do if it had been their mother? My mother is a breast cancer survivor, world renowned physician, and amazing person — how dare they debase her like that.

Update: Stopped in this place on Saturday because I had no clue what I wanted to indulge in on my lunch break. Evidently this place is under new management, as the manager in the men’s department actively makes himself available. That’s a plus. He had one of the sales associates pull a shirt for me from stock, yet this particular person almost had me waiting 10 minutes for a t-​shirt due to chatting it up by the fitting room. I had another item in my hand and the manager notified me that if I wanted, I could try that on and he’d have the employee bring me the shirt. So as I’m walking to the fitting room the employee finally begins walking out with my t-​shirt. I indicated that the shirt she was holding was for me, she handed it to me with an attitude and walked away back into the fitting room. I began trying on my items and it took no time for the work related conversations between employees back there to turn into nsfw conversations with such explicit content. Ridiculous, but at the end of the day it is retail, so it is what it is. I paid for my items and left.
I returned back the next day (Sunday) and as the same manager noticed me with my Zara bag about to make a return, he came over and we began a very interesting conversation about a wool trench coat I was looking at. Based on that conversation I returned my item and purchased the trench coat. More expensive, but it definitely was a piece you’d want in your collection. So I guess this place is turning around slowly. Still has a ways to go.

This particular Zara was clean and organized which I greatly appreciated. Signage were clear.
I was looking for a particular pair of shoes, but my size was unavailable. Therefore I didn’t purchase anything here.

The WORST location of all — Manager «Nina» who refused to exchange a shirt that was too large, for a size smaller. The Sales Person, «Stephanie» said due to it being wrinkled, it looked worn. I DID wear it, that’s HOW I know it was running too large.
Nina said that she couldn’t take it back because «I won’t be able to sell it to someone else» — be warned, ZARA is selling «returns» to customers for full price!
I’ve been in retail for 22 years, good customers should be kept happy, and kept eager to shop again.
Nina is a FAIL, and the Sales Associate too… «We’ll show those customers whose boss…» Great job Ladies, you would be fired under my employ.

While the 5^th avenue store in midtown is my fave, this location was still decent. I asked and was granted assistance from the staff. Items were not strewn about the store and the cashiers were efficient in cashing out shoppers. I don’t particularly care for the gray hued — filter like mirrors, I want to know what I really look like not on a filter but that’s a marketing strategy that I can’t blame on the store.

I like this place.
Zara’s reminds me of a mix in between Express and Uniqlo.
They have stylish clothing for both women and men. They are priced pretty competitively but range on the slightly higher side on certain items.
I came here to search for an item that I’m not going to mention because I don’t want it to sell out before Black Friday. I’m crossing fingers for a good price discount so I will omit the item mention. But when I ask about trying on the additional color option for the piece the sales associate was cordial, patient and called in for someone to bring it.
I call that service.
Even though I’m probably going to order the item online I wouldn’t hesitate to shop this store next time if I have a need to get an item from here.
