History

Established in 2013.

Zola Founders Shan-​Lyn Ma and Nobu Nakaguchi, early employees at Gilt Groupe, and Kevin Ryan, who remains Founder and Chairman of Gilt Groupe as well as Zola, Mongo and Business Insider, set out to boldly redefine the wedding registry for the always-​online couple. With their combined expertise in building e-​commerce experiences, leveraging merchandising, design and technology, the group launched Zola in October 2013.
