Great bagels everything is fresh and delicious. The smoked fish is great, coffee strong and tasty. If you are nearby I recommend you pop in for breakfast.

I always hear zuckers is the«quintessential NY lox and bagels» place, so while being nearby I figured I should venture over for breakfast. I really had a pb & j bagel in mind, but felt sort of wildly 6-year-oldish going in asking for that while everyone orders there bagel with cream cheese, or lox or etc. Ironically, I got in line in the tight little narrow space in front of a big counter where workers slung bagels and whatnot, looked up at the ginormous menu up above, and decided I’d prefer some sort of savory bagel sandwich with eggs, veggies, and cheese. Then the man in front of me orders a pb & j bagel. **sigh** So we went with the original plan and pb&j on a oat bagel is what I came out with. The bagel was nice and chewy but I prefer my peanut butter more generously spread. They’re coffee was better than expected, and they had a full line up of espresso drinks, as well as a coffee, bagel and regular cream cheese special for $ 3.95. It wasn’t a fancy place but they obviously know their bagels.

Best bagel I’ve ever had. Try the Zucker Traditional bagel, on the ‘everything’ bagel, toasted. Awesome and very delicious. It’s both a take away and an informal place where you can eat your bagel directly and fresh.

I ordered the classic smoked salmon sandwich, paid for my order, then was handed the bag. I realized that the bag didn’t have the coleslaw or pickle that i paid for along with the sandwich. I pointed it out to the sales person, who sighed, before handing me a container of coleslaw. she then told me that they were«out» of pickles, with no substitution. I had already paid for the pickle. I know its just a pickle but it is the principle of the thing. This place quite literally stole from me, and i will not be back.

One of the best bagels I’ve ever had. Great smoked salmon, tasted really fresh. A little pricey $ 23 for two bagels is a little excessive — the only reason why I don’t think this is a 5 star review.

Zuckers is close to Grand Central and an easy walk from the Hyatt. The bagel was ok. It was a typical NY experience. Lots of yelling and people who weren’t very nice or worried about customer service. There were limited bagels at 10am because when they are gone — they are gone. There was a wait but the lined moved pretty quickly. Its a good bagel in a pinch but not really the best. I would rather walk further for nicer people and a real NYC bagel.

Love the fact that fish is very fresh and they carve sturgeon on the spot. Sandwiches include butter or cream cheese. Don’t like the everything bagels — way too much everything. Reasonable prices($ 9) for a bagel with nova and cream cheese or butter, toasted. $ 14.50 for a bagel with sturgeon. Not too crowded, hand rolled bagel joint.

came back 2 years later to try the ZB Cobb salad with grilled chicken added. The salad is $ 6.25 and consists of avocado, smoked bacon, crumbled bleu cheese, boiled eggs, chopped tomato with iceberg and romaine lettuce. I had the blue cheese dressing. The grilled chicken is $ 3.50 extra. The crispy bagel chips gives it greater depth.

Unfortunately I had a very disappointing experience at Zucker’s yesterday morning. I’ve been to Zucker’s a number of times and it’s been fine. Yesterday I went in for the breakfast special. I’ve gotten it a number of times. When ordering I asked the man who was placing my order if I could do the breakfast special and just add tomato to my bagel(which I’ve done before) and he said yes. Of course when ordering the special I knew that I would have to pay extra for the tomato, but it was something I wanted on my bagel. I stepped up to the register and said I have the breakfast special with tomato added. The woman cashier with the nastiest attitude said«so that’s not a special.» I said yes miss I’ve ordered this a number of times here. I will pay the extra money for the tomato added. She continued to roll her eyes at me and say well that’s not the special you can’t do that. She kept making faces at me and having an extremely rude attitude towards me. First off, I understand if they don’t allow you to add anything to the special they offer, but 1– why didn’t the man I placed my order with mention that would be an issue and 2– maybe being a little bit more polite would’ve gotten the message across nicer. I’m not saying I was necessarily right, but there could’ve been a better way of handling the situation. I also didn’t really enjoy my bagel. It was hard as a rock and the iced coffee was just ok. I will not be returning to Zucker’s ever again. Not only do I not need to start my day in such an unpleasant way, but there’s many other coffee/breakfast options in the area.

How can a bagel, a simple bagel, just be so good?! I’ve had my share of bagels, from packaged to freshly made ones, and I can’t seem to shake Zucker’s. I am a big fan of their breakfast sandwiches – real eggs on the griddle. From cream cheese to tuna salad, I say this place is great. Fast and friendly service! They serve La Colombe coffee here for you fans out there,(but I am quite a snob and the coffee is not made fresh, obviously it sits in a pot in the AM and has that sour *gag* taste).

I checked out Zucker’s with my nearly nine month old baby, so I think the sight of the baby strapped to me got me good service. Everyone was really nice, which was probably due to my happy, toothless baby smiling at them. I ordered the plain bagel with Novia Scotia cream cheese and it was pretty good. Not as good Ess-a-Bagels or Russ & Daughter’s but good enough. The fresh OJ was good too and completed my breakfast.

Get the traditional… dope salmon lox in all its briny, tender goodness! There’s capers, not too much cream cheese, tomatoes, red onions, and of course the smoky tender lox. Service is quick especially around lunchtime, didn’t have to wait more than a few minutes for my bagel. Must try if you want a helluva good NYC bagel!

Pros: Pretty good bagels and tofu cream cheese. Cons: Very strange/rude attitude of the guy at the register. This morning, I mentioned to him that I was going to write a review on Unilocal about how they have changed their special to only include regular cream cheese and not tofu which I thought was disappointing. Not his fault but disappointing nonetheless. He then proceeded to tell me how«we don’t care about Unilocal» and«who has time for that?» which was pretty rude. Instead of trying to fix my problem or address it, he was focusing on how to protest my review. I then went over to the other side of the store where my friend was standing as she was going to order a bagel and he then followed me and proceeded to tell me about how Unilocal was so wrong when he went to Las Vegas and stayed at The Palazzo Hotel and how Expedia gave it 5 stars but Unilocal gave it 3. Why do I care about this??? My friend was so annoyed that she did not place her order after all and she got a bagel elsewhere. Aren’t restaurants supposed to strive toward great customer service? Clearly, they don’t care about it here. His experience booking a hotel at the Palazzo has no bearing on my bagel and cream cheese. This place has certainly earned its mediocre 3 stars on Unilocal and based on the reviews here, it’s more of an attitude problem, not a bagel problem.

The bagel competition in New York City is fierce but Zucker’s did not seem like it makes the cut. Due to its proximity to my workplace, I have got bagels here time to time for breakfast or lunch. Bagels itself are just okay. It is small in shape and texture is a little too hard for me especially in the morning. Marble bagel and the pumpernickel bagel is the best out of all they have to offer. Cream cheese is not smooth and too chunky for my taste. Zucker’s biggest strength is their smoked and cured salmon slices. They are extremely fresh here for they are made by Acume Smoked Fish, a family-owned smokehouse in Brooklyn. My favorite happened to be the gravlax salmon. Gravlax is cured salmon covered with dill and with other spices. It is incredibly soft and flavorful. Another noteworthy item are their spicy pickles! I love the spicy and sour action going on. I hope I’m don’t sound weird when I just order their smoked salmon with a few pickles!

I order from this place on Seamless about once a month for the office, and the food is great. Muffins: The chocolate chip, blueberry, cranberry and«morning» flavors are good, but the banana walnut is the best. Mmmm. Bagels: Decent bagels. We usually get a baker’s dozen(13) and mix it up. I’ve tried the plain, rye, sesame seed and salt. Good texture and taste. Other: The fruit salad for 8 people is awesome. Lots of good melons and berries with none of the cop-out fruits like apples. Definitely can serve more than 8; I would say 10. The delivery is always on time(I usually place the order the night before) and they give the proper utensils. My only complaint is that the cream cheese is inconsistent — the first time, we received teeny tiny containers though I ordered a few of the ¼ lbs. The next time they got it right, but the time after, we only received one container(I ordered 2) and we ran out. Otherwise, this place is reliable and yummy.

I’ve eaten here a few times and I was never really blown away by anything. It’s a pretty standard place, but I’m going to start checking out some other delis in the area that have rolls & heroes for half the price. It’s Friday during Lent so I was going to refrain from eating meat. I was either going to try a place down the street and get a tuna melt or go to Zucker’s and try the turkey signature sandwich… yeah, I know what I said… Because I had a call coming up I decided to go to Zucker’s, the closer of the two. If you’re wondering, I didn’t get the tuna because it sounded better at the other place, which is why I sinned and got the turkey :( My willpower faltered at the Natural. I just had to try it: All Natural Smoked Turkey, Brie, Romaine, Lucky’s Tomatoes & Dijon Dill Sauce. The website says«Signature Sandwichez come w/Brooklyn Brine Pickle & side of Cole Slaw.» I asked for no tomato. Maybe the employee remembered that I’d said no tomato half-way through making the sandwich because only half of my sandwich had tomato on it…? Besides the missing tomato, I also missed out on the cole slaw, which I was looking forward to because I don’t like pickles! Not fair! The Dijon Dill Sauce is just mayo, with a taste of dijon and some dill thrown in there. I don’t know. I think if you are going to advertise something as signature, it’s gotta be extra tasty. I’ve gotten lox & cream cheese bagels from here in the past, so I may just stick to that from now on, but I’ve even had better bagels… in jersey. I hope Jesus forgives me for not being able to turn down the tempting turkey sandwich that only ended up being ok at best. Def. not worth going to hell for.

I almost skipped this place due to some of the negative reviews, but I usually ignore other reviews and tried it anyway. I had the traditional bagel with shmear and lox, and it was delicious. Great coffee, and the lox was delish as was the egg and cheese bagel. I did however see some of the same issues as others. Asked for cheese to be left off the egg and cheese bagel but it was on there anyway. they forgot to give me my pickle and cole slaw, and for $ 10 you better believe I wanted those with my bagel since they were supposed to be included. Free wifi, cozy bar top or table seating, and overall fairly fast service. And I’d rather go to a local place than a chain like Pret or Starbucks. They just need to pay a bit more attention to their customer’s orders.

Horrible coffe, bad custumer service and bland bagels… Didn’t see where my 21 bucks went and honestly I wouldn’t pay 10 dollars for the food I had. Yes, I got the original bagel and it was really dry and bland. If you are looking for a good breakfast option nearby, I would go for the pret a manger just around the block…
