There are two priority club lounges in EWR. One outside of security and one inside. As many of you know, there is no free wifi in EWR but if you have Boingo wifi finder(another Amex Platinum membership privilege), it sometimes work in EWR. In addition, if you have priority club passes, you can then access this Art & Lounge outside of security or at airside. I used the one outside of security as going through TSR pre check is very easy and I had plenty of time. One thing that is very different about this priority pass lounge is of course the access to Kosher food, I had Tilapia and rice, which is nothing more than a tray of TV dinner, but it’s heated up in a Kosher safe microwave and brought to me where I was seating. The wifi access in this lounge is good and food is better than most. I would say it’s not that great but it’s lot better than United Club. I think it’s on par with the priority club lounge in Bergen, Anchorage and Seattle. Also, it had a curry lentil soup which I liked. There are many Orthodox jewish folks traveling to Israel that day so they were chatting on the phone a lot, kind of makes this place having a bit more international vibe. I believe there is one on the airside, but it’s in the international terminal, so if you are doing domestic travel, you should use this outside of the security, just make sure that you give yourself plenty of time to hop on the air train and get to the right terminal.

The lounge is difficult to get through if you are connecting through EWR as it is outside security. Food is OK and cleanliness is good. Service non existent and bar service quite bad. No working TV’s just a static radio.

This lounge is land-side, so it’s tough to use before your flight unless you have a long layover. Food selection tries a little harder than the typical airline lounge with a pasta dish and some green beans(?). It tries harder, but it’s not successful. Alcohol selection is good. No charge, and you get a better offering than the regular house wine and well drinks. Decent sparkling wine is available to pour as you like. Best use for me was to freshen up and grab a drink after a long flight from the west coast. I wouldn’t pay to get in, but you have to justify the platinum Amex fee somehow!

Lounge looks nice, mediocre service, minimal food options… and is outside of security checkpoint. Basically if AMEX and United lounges were the majors… this would be AA level

The place looks great and the coffee machine is superb plus the large lounge chairs are super comfortable. Perhaps due to the timing of my visit, when I came the place was ¾ full and all the tables were filled with dirty dishes and trash. The staff seemed fairly large but none of them cleared tables. My flight was delayed so I waited as the lounge cleared out and then 25 minutes after everyone left two people cleared the place and cleaned. The management needs to consistently clear as all the other lounges I use do. I watched multiple people sit in front of dirty dishes that were not theirs while staff jokes and hung out at the desk together. They could easily be five stars but not with all the trash. It was a good hour and half with not one thing cleared a bit crazy indeed. Still not a stellar clean up and no one cares.

Really nice lounge very quiet good selection of drinks and nibbles. Could do with some hot food but for its size and patronage probably not justified. Outside of security but not a issue as we have hours before our flight.

Ehhhh. After landing at EWR from HKG and having 3 hours to kill before an Amtrak departed, I was pleased to learn there was a Priority Pass lounge post-security. I was led to believe there’d be some decent food offerings in this lounge, but I showed up to find pre-packaged snacks and some premade sandwiches. Not great. I wasn’t that hungry after eating on my flight, so I had an espresso and used their single computer. I tried to print something and was told there was no printer in the lounge. Clientele was noticeably more annoying than other lounges I’ve been to… one couple was Skyping to friends and family for hours and didn’t use headphones or even their inside voices. Sigh, so much for relaxation in a lounge.

The lounge would have been given 5 stars if it opens earlier than 9:30am. The lounge is located conveniently on the landside(Before TSA) in Terminal B on Gate Level(Between Level 2 and Level 3) and between the gates B60 to B68 and B40 to B57. The Lounge is not noted on the airport map so hopefully you can understand my instructions. It is also near the airport tram which makes it easier for a visit from other terminals. My flight was departing from gate 45 and it took less than five minutes to walk to the TSA checkpoint. It is open to Priority Pass members and is also open to the public for $ 35 per person. The person that checked me in at the desk was very friendly and helpful. She made sure I know where to go to find my flight. The décor is modern and it reminds me of the American Express Centurion lounge in Las Vegas. On this morning visit, they had sandwiches, chips, crackers, and all types of drinks. The soft drinks are located in a self-served refrigerator. Compared to local Delta SkyClubs or American Airlines Admirals Club, this lounge seems to have more food and drink options. The lounge is also smaller(not sure how many people) compared to others. Electrical outlets are limited and in the era of smartphones and tablets, it would benefit travelers that there are more outlets.
