I usually don’t write reviews for national chains. But this is an exception, the service was more than just bad. Look, I don’t have high expectations from an auto parts store. Nor do I have high expectations from an auto parts store in a much less than desirable part of town. I used to frequent the Autozone in East Oakland. But I do expect not to be ripped off. When I first moved to Jersey about a year ago, one of my headlights went out. Normally I would change the lamp myself but it coincided with one of VW’s warranty repairs so I had a mechanic do it. I really didn’t remember how much I paid for the parts and labor. A month ago, the other headlight went out. I decided to stop by, it was on the way home from work. I went in and asked for help to find a lamp for a 2009VW Jetta TDI. The guy behind the counter said the lamp cost around $ 110 and they didn’t have any in stock; but the other Autozone on Broad Street would have it. Went to the other Autozone, the guy asked if I wanted the Xenon lamp or the regular. I told him I wanted a regular lamp. It was off the shelf for $ 18. There’s upselling, and there’s ripping people off. I won’t be back to this Autozone.
