History
Established in 2007.
Earthwork Recording was opened after a 2 year rehabilitation of a property in Newark’s historic district. Founded by Tom Atha, a graduate of Denison University and The Recording Workshop. Earthwork has recorded hundreds of bands from Ohio and across the country.

Business Owner
Tom Atha is native to Granville, Ohio. Graduating from Denison University in 2005, Tom has since led acoustic research at Owens Corning, opened Earthwork Recording Studio, teaches audio production at Denison University, has been the President of The Downtown Newark Association, and opened 31 West, a 500 capacity music venue and event space. Tom is deeply committed to music and community building in Newark, Ohio.
