History

Established in 1954.

Golden State Lumber traces it’s roots back to 1954 when immigration and the demand in the San Francisco Bay Area for high-​quality lumber, hardware and building materials were increasing. The company’s first store began with seven employees in a 10×12 foot office with no running water. The company continued to expand its service and products to a growing number of markets including residential, commercial, government and industrial customers.

Throughout the 1990’s, Golden State Lumber continued its expansion objectives to meet the ever-​changing needs of our customers. During this period, the company opened two new facilities bringing the total to four major distribution centers located in American Canyon, San Rafael, Brisbane and Newark. Subsequently the operation in American Canyon moved to a new 80 acre facility in Stockton where we have continued to expand our services and product offerings to our customers.
