Everything we’ve tried here is very good, and the ambiance is inviting and charming. I’d try to go here with a larger group, though I’d recommend reservations if you do so. My partner and I have rarely had to wait very long just walking in as a two-top because there are a fair number of small tables. Dishes we keep ordering include the bacalao, calamari, pimientos de piquillo, and tortillas – the cabrales blue cheese is awesome. I always have to get patatas bravas with tapas, and the version here is a little spicy, so thumbs up from me. The albondigas and gambas are also very good, and we often also get a cheese plate and a salad to share. We can’t eat all of this at once, so deciding can be difficult. For drinks, we prefer the original white(me) and red(him) sangrias; we find the fruity ones to be too sweet. This is a great choice if you’re not in the mood for a meat gorge-a-thon in the Ironbound.

I tried this place during lunch hour and it was pretty cool. No wait and the food came quick. Also, as I was in a rush to get back to work, I accidentally left my debit card. When I went back to get it, it was secured in their cash register and the gentleman verified that it was me when I came back for it — very nice of them to have done that. PROS: — convenient location for those working in downtown Newark — serving size: not too much or too little — staff is polite and courteous(always has a smile on their faces) — inexpensive CONS: — I would suggest parking in a lot and walking, ferry street is busy and the parking is limited

Come for the sangria but stay for the delicious tapas. Great for lunch but come back at night for happy hour. I love the ropa vieja sandwich and al of the salads at lunch but if you go with a crowd it is fun to order lots of tapas and dig in! A great local spot.

Very stylish tapas place. I got the small pitcher of sangria which was a lot but it was pretty good. I got the tuna sashimi salad which was ok. Tuna felt pre-prepared and hastily plated, but that was just my interpretation. I’ve had better but it wasn’t awful. My bf got fried yucca which was excellent, and ham croquettes which he didn’t finish and said he did not like. As they started to get busy after we were there it took a while to get the check, but we were enjoying finishing our drinks. The outside back patio looked like a nice place to sit during the day!

I liked this place. My friends and I sat waaaayyyy in the back, outside on a night with perfect weather. They have a nice selection of about 5 different sangria’s. We had the passion fruit and it was so yummy! The wait staff are very nice and accommodating. I must say that I had high hopes for the food, but it didn’t knock my socks off. It wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t go back for it. I like to have my socks knocked off when it comes to food. I’d go back for the drinks and the atmosphere, but not the food. Sorry guys.

Newark restaurant week is going on so a friend suggested we visit this place for lunch, and I am glad I listened to her. The set price is $ 15 for 2 tapas, a glass of wine or sangria so pretty good for their regular prices. My friends and I got the potatoes, grilled calamari, shrimp, croquetas, baked eggplant, chicken balls and they were amazing. I was skeptical about the croquetas because unless you are in Miami it is almost impossible to get a good croqueta, but they proved me wrong. They were so yummy and their sauce was to die for. The egg plant was my second favorite tapa as it didn’t even taste as a vegetable(well I have a hard time eating vegetables so this was amazing for my mouth). Based on other reviews many people recommended the tres leches cake, so we each got one to go. I can make a good tres leches so I didn’t expect it to be as good as mine. It was just perfect and they give you a huge piece. You will want to go back for more. Buen provecho!!!

Great tapas and Sangria. We came in on a Saturday, it was Flamenco night. The music and dancer was phenomenal. I would like to return and enjoy their sangria and tapas while watching their entertainers. I love the vibe of this small place. Thwy have an outside courtyard and a basement that looks like a little wine cellar. The place was packed but we alway have the attention of their servers. There were 15 of us and we definitely love their service. I recommend this place.

Great food. Great drinks. Casual ambiance. Clientele is mostly young professionals. Service is good. Normally pre game here before we go to the city. Ginger smash is my goto drink.

This is my second visit and it does not disappoint. Newark Restaurant Week is going on and went for lunch. $ 15 for 2 course tapa meal WITH a glass of wine. ‘Twas a pretty good deal for what they usually charge. This is one of my favorite restaurants on Ferry Street. My favorite tapas are chorizo al vino, croquetas de bacalao, tortilla hermina, calamari a la plancha, and patatas bravas. Also, the coconut flan is the best flan ever made! Certainly a must when eating here.

This is definitely a nice place. Stopped for lunch with my wife one afternoon during the week and enjoyed the tapas and drinks. Chorizo was tasty and well made. The place felt very authentic and true to culture

The only complain I have about this place is that they close at 12am instead of 2am like the rest of the bars in the area. This restaurant has delicious house made cocktails, tapas and mmmm. Tres leche! The service was excellent I wasn’t a huge fan of the original drink that I ordered so the bartender made me one of the best Sangrias I’ve ever had. It was a perfect balance of fruit juices and red wine. The décor is super cozy and reminds me of being in NYC. It’s dark lightening and bulb chandelier was a nice touch. I visited on a Friday evening very close to closing and there weren’t many people at the bar but the bartender didn’t give me and my fiancé a vibe like he was rushing us. I enjoyed my late night desert and I can’t wait to enjoy another one of their famous Sangrias!

We had a work related event at Mompou and I was super impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the quality of the food, drinks and service they provided! Thanks to the manager, Steve and the wonderful waitress, Natalie. :) I highly, highly recommend this place! I know I will be back soon. :)

I attended a work function here so we were in the downstairs private dining area. The upstairs atmosphere seemed pleasant and sophisticated. The downstairs was very private and ideal for our setting but was also nice in comparison to upstairs. We were offered four different of types of apps. which included chicken meatballs, grilled calamari, marinated shrimp and chorizo. The only one I truly enjoyed was the chorizo as everything else had a bland favoring or a favoring I wasn’t too found of. The shrimp had a quite peculiar smokiness which I personally did not enjoy. The chorizo on the other hand was filled with flavor and spices and cooked well. The service was impeccable as we had two personal waiters and they were constantly refilling drinks and available for anything needed. For the main course I had flank steak and roasted potatoes with a red wine reduction. The steak was extremely tender and the portion size throughout the whole meal was perfect. We also had red sangria which was rich although not the best I’ve had. Desert was a pleasant experience with a chocolate lava cake which was deep in all types of chocolate flavor. The experience was enjoyable and I would return to try other things. I could not give this place four stars due to the apps which I think could’ve been better.

My wife and I had to go to IKEA and decided to have some tapas. I had been here before do it seemed like a good idea to come back since I enjoyed my previous lunch. We were promptly seated. We ordered a small pitcher of white sangria. Our waitress recommended the passion fruit Sangria which was great. We ordered marinated pork stickers, spicy shrimp and an order of spicy potatoes. Our waitress also recommended that we dip the bread in the shrimp sauce. The food was excellent and the staff were sll attentive and friendly. I would definitely return here for dinner.

I was not impressed by the tapas here. They were pricey and mediocre tasting. The chicken meatballs(4 of them) with mushroom and tarragon were meh and there was no taste of tarragon. Definitely not worth $ 12. The menu is simple and nothing looks enticing. Our waitress was very rude and/or confused by everything I’m not sure what her deal was. She automatically added a 20% tip even though we were not a party of 6 and gave us so much attitude when we asked her about it. Not a big deal but there’s a way to handle this and her response was blatantly rude. She also messed up our bill when we were splitting it up. When we confronted her she refused to realize her error. Would definitely check out other restaurants in the area and avoid the mediocre food and service here.

Awesome drinks!!! Different than the other places in the area and the staff is super friendly especially at the bar. The tres leches dessert is amazing! Ask for a shot of chambord on top. To die for!

Cute place in the ironbound. A friend took me here on our first night in newark. The place is cute and small. A small menu but a great wine selection. I ordered the steak salad with some red Portuguese wine. The salad was good. Nothing to rave about but definitely good. Nice atmosphere for sure. I’d come back for a glass of wine any time

Wow, I always see this place super packed and now I understand why Although it’s not the biggest place the food it’s delicious, we had a bunch of different appetizers and Im a picky eater surprising I enjoyed each and every single one. I definitely recommend coming before 5pm which is when it starts getting busy probably because everyone comes here for a drink or two and a nice meal. Bathroom is nice and clean and I was also able to see that they have a small patio in the back Im assuming for the summer. Parking isn’t as flexible but there is definitely a few parking lots around and on the street if you get lucky.
