She is outstanding! I procrastinated my prom dress and came 3 days before prom, but she finished it in 2 days! Her work is amazing and I highly recommend going here

I over needed my suit for job interviews so I took my suit to be altered here. The seamstress, Eileen, was very nice and did an amazing job! Very happy with her work and would highly recommend.

I have used Eileen a few times now .
The first time for bridesmaid dresses and this time for my daughters prom dress and a few dresses for me? She did an awesome job hemming and extending the slits on the prom dress. She worked with me daughter on the length and how it would hang and not catch on her heels while walking. Something most people don’t think about. She even finished it 3 day ahead of schedule. Price is very responsible and Eileen is alway nice and very sweet to work with. What I love most is the suggestions she offers ! I would recommend her to everyone !

I was sad when my brand new Carnival Cruise toiletry bag came unstitched by the handles and I DO NOT sew. I frequent Nail Chic (Mai) and KV Express (Micky) next door for years and coming here was extremely convenient. I brought my bag in and Eileen stitched it up I believe better than it originally was. I would HIGHLY recommend getting your alterations done here. She was quick and very nice.

This was the best experience I’ve ever had with a tailor after visiting multiple over the course of a couple years. Eileen is extremely friendly, and genuinely cares for how you look in your clothes. As if that weren’t already great, she also has VERY reasonable prices! I would recommend Eileen to anybody who needs their clothes to be tailored /​altered.

I went here to get my prom dress hemmed, because I’m quite short. I found this place through a friend who is actually a relative of the owner, and I decided to try this place because it had good reviews and I heard it had good prices for the work.
I came in without an appointment on Tuesday around 5pm, and I didn’t have to wait. Eileen heard me come in and quickly came to greet me and guided me to where I should change. She asked me if I had the shoes I was going to wear with the dress since I told her I was getting it hemmed, and when I told her I did she was super happy. (ALWAYS bring the shoes and/​or undergarments that you plan on wearing with what you’re getting work done on, because it ensures a better fit and just makes everything easier for you and the tailor. Anywhere you go, remember this!)
I got changed and when I came out, she looked at the dress and told me some tips about my dress to make sure it fits well on me. Soon after she asked where I wanted the dress to fall and quickly marked the dress. While doing so she found that my dress was very easy to work on and decided to just cut the excess fabric and hem it afterwards. It costed $ 25 but I got 20% off from my school, so I payed $ 20.
She told me to come back to pick up the dress on Tuesday, so I did at around 5pm. The dress was ready and she asked me to try it on to make sure it fit the way I wanted to. The length was great, but while I was wearing the dress I realized she didn’t sew close the hole I asked her to fix. This was fine since it was a super tiny hole at a seam that she was able to fix in a minute before I left!
Overall, Eileen was super nice and sweet. She does great work for great prices and I will definitely come back if I ever need anything else done in the future!

This place is awesome! Great customer service and Eileen is a pleasure to do business with. I bought a suit for my wedding and brought it here to have my coat and slacks altered, it came out perfect. If you have any alterations that need to be made, go here! I will definitely be back for any future alteration needs.

Considering my last review about another embroidery shop, I was skeptical about continuing this project. I had originally looked up a previous place up and it didn’t work out for me. I continued searching for places and decided to just call before coming in. I had explained over the phone to the lady what I wanted to be done. She said it sounded like not a problem and to just come in. So I did.
She was super nice! SUPER SUPER NICE. And sweet. She worked with me with the work I wanted done (handkerchiefs with embroidery initials done). She helped pick out what font, color size and everything else. I kept thanking her for doing this because I thought it really wasn’t doable after that last place told me I was crazy for it. I had told her about my visit to the previous place and she told me that it was sooooo doable and I wasn’t crazy. :) The receipt she had given me said that it would be ready in a days worth! Hopefully it will be! I’ll update once I pick them up. :)

Eileen is very friendly and customer oriented. She did a great job of tailoring my suit and did it in one day, even though there was a lot of work to be done. She even stayed until after closing to wait for me to pick up my suit to try on. I highly recommend coming over to see Eileen to make any alterations to your clothing.

I had a last minute alteration. I was in and out in 10 mins. The owner is super nice and amazing. She has great prices and super friendly! I’m going to great for the wedding!

Yoooo this is a great place! I took my true religions in to get hemmed and it was done within a few hours! Great job on the hem! She’s a kind lady & super nice. Will be coming back!

They did a great job! No appointment necessary. I needed some embroidery removed from a jacket, and they did the job in about 2 hours (1 hour less than originally quoted). The jacket looks great!

I heard about this place after I went with my niece to purchase her prom dress. The lady who sold us the dress suggest we come to Said With Threads for any alternations that may be needed. Although we didn’t need to use Eileen’s services, I kept her in mind knowing I had a wedding coming later on in the year. 5 months later I returned to get my suite tailored.
Eileen was very helpful. I told her this was my first «grown-​up» suit post college. As she was pinning me, she gave me lots of helpful tips that I could use for when I purchase more suits in the future. Eileen was very approachable and I felt comfortable expressing my personal preference when it came to how I wanted my suit to fit. I return here next weekend to try on the suit. I left Eileen feeling confident that I’ll look real sharp at the wedding. Cannot wait to try it on! Thank you Eileen!

I had a great experience doing business with Said With Thread. I own an Etsy Shop and needed embroidery work done on some items before I shipped them to a customer. The person I usually use for this had a problem with her machine. Eileen was able to do the custom embroidery in only 1 day and I was able to ship my order early! The custom embroidery looked beautiful and my customer was thrilled! I will definetlly be using Said With Threads services again.

I live in the SF Bay Area and decided to get my dress altered here just because it was right next door to where I had purchased it.
Said with Threads is reasonable with prices, but I was really disappointed due to poor communication. I had to come back 4 times because I wasn’t wearing the EXACT shoes and bra I was going to wear with the dress. It turned out that I didn’t even need the bra in the end. As for the shoes, I didn’t wear the exact pair during the fitting and everything turned out fine lengthwise.
The bust was too big even with a bombshell push-​up bra, but that was probably a given since the dress was originally a larger size and I have a small bust.
I was also really disappointed in the talk of other customers behind the wall. Whether it was directed towards me or not, I expect a little more professionalism.
Overall, I was happy with the dress during my wedding, BUT… the zipper broke on me only two hours after wearing it so I was basically walking around SF City Hall with my backside exposed.

I highly recommend this place. I took a blanket here to be embroidered with my daughter’s name and also had my king duvet cover resized to queen size. Both items came out perfectly, made with great detail and craftsmanship. The prices are very good too, I plan to take all my future sewing projects here.

Had an amazing experience at Said With Thread getting my prom dress hemmed. I figured that all that could be done with the length was a hem, but the owner came up with adding a bustle so my dress wouldn’t drag. She was very friendly, helpful, and experienced. Will be coming back for event alterations in the future :)
