H&R Block

Had an appointment to do my taxes today at 12pm and Boonthong Purt greeted me to take me to his desk to do my taxes. Every time I had a question he would get loud and lean in close to me at the desk and I felt very intimidated. His accent made it hard for me to understand the things he was trying to explain to me in an already annoyed and loud tone. He rushed me through the process and at the end when I asked the overall fee he was tried to NOT tell me!!! He just quickly pointed to the fee of 290 then upon further inspection it was a TOTAL fee of 359.95!!! I was rushed and he would give a half hearted 1 sentence explanation of each page I was signing and some pages no explanation at all!!! I called them 2 times after I got home to see if I could get some of the insane charges reversed. Like a «Peace of mind fee» The said they would send a check to me to reimburse the fee. We shall see if that happens. Also, Boonthong pushed me into getting my refund on a master card. Come to find out, the card has insane fees. MORE fees than if I had just taken the check. which was 25 extra dollars… I am so disappointed with my experience. I had my taxes done by them a couple years ago and they were great. This overall experience has ruined my day and I feel VERY ripped off. DO NOT GO THERE!!! The manager I spoke to named Terry is the one who told me he could give me back the money for the ridiculous «peace of mind fee». But at this point I won’t hold my breath… He made multiple excuses for Boonthong and would not hear me when I told him that Boonthong was not forthcoming in his explanations of things before having me sign all these papers. I feel disregarded, lied to, and manipulated. I should have demanded Boonthong to stop rushing me and read all the details I read once I got home and realized how badly I had been mislead. But I trusted HR Block NOT to do me wrong. Shame on you HR Block!!!
