When I came to visit Oregon and my friend said we were going thrifting, I mentally prepared myself for what I imagined in my head would be racks and racks of disorganized clothing to sift through. But if I didn’t know this place sold secondhand items, I could’ve mistaken it for a regular boutique by just glancing through the windows. That’s how nice and organized this place is. Menswear to the left, women’s clothing to the right, accessories toward the back. The décor is thoughtfully – and tastefully – laid out. The clothing and accessories they sell are in good condition so you don’t have to go through the struggle of sifting through racks or piles of junk to find something nice. What made me most excited is that towards the back, they have a shelf of old polaroid cameras and film cameras, all of which were tried and tested, in decent condition and under $ 40. I repeat, under $ 40. It really doesn’t get better than that, especially since some of these cameras are ones I have been hunting for or ones that I either have to bid for or cost me $ 100+ online. They also sold the appropriate polaroid film for the cameras. So I definitely bought one and it works great. Maybe I’m just a newbie to thrifting, but from the thrift stores I’ve been to, they can’t compare to Velour. I’m actually surprised a thrift store as nice as this exists. What makes this place so special is that you would think you would find this in a bigger city like Portland, but it’s tucked away in this small town. The worker was really nice. Definitely going back when I’m in the area again.
