History
Established in 1979.
Dr. Thompson joined the practice of Kenneth H. Swanson on the campus of CLU, shortly he graduated and became licensed. Soon they moved to a new office at 355 E. Ave. de los Arboles, at which time a partnership was formed. Their general dentistry practice remained in that location for over 20 years, and Dr. Swanson retired during that period. Since 2005, Dr. Thompson and his staff have enjoyed their new office at 1000 Newbury Rd., having been able to design and equip it to the highest standards.

Dr. Thompson earned his undergraduate degree in Physics from California Lutheran University, and then an MS in Physics from the University of Minnesota. During that time his interest in dentistry developed and he went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Northwestern University, Chicago, IL, in 1978. Dr. Thompson has continued a rigorous learning schedule, going far above and beyond continuing education requirements for licensure. Some of those experiences include pursuing the Fellowship and the Mastership designations from the Academy of General Dentistry (recognition shared by only 1% of dentists), the Peter Dawson Academy (specialized training in TMJ & advanced dental techniques), and ongoing participation in the Santa Barbara Periodontal Study Club. Dr. Thompson has been married since 1968, has three married children and four grandchildren. His personal interests include aviation, golf, being a CLU booster. He also volunteers in many ways.
