Great little place Lots of British delights. Neat little tea pots All sorts of English Tea’s Very nice and pleasant staff. Prices are not inexpensive but compared to a flight to London its a deal.

A coworker brought these in for a company visitor meeting. She asked the staff at the store which ones they recommended and they said to try the Jaffa Cakes, original Digestives biscuits, and Cherry Bakewells. All three were so incredibly amazing(and I am not one for sweets) and everybody else at the office thought so, too. All three together cost about $ 15, which doesn’t seem that much for imported British sweets. I will have to get myself here at some point, so that I can stock up on my personal stash!

This is a wonderful shop and over the years I’ve found some terrific gifts and wonderful teas here. Do ask one of the managers if you can’t find what you want. They will blend teas to order, a special treat. It’s a bit pricy, but if you enjoy quality tea, it’s well worth it. The china and hats and sweaters cost a king’s ransom but occasionally you can get some bargains when they are having sales. I’ve tried a few of their imported cookies — they were okay, nothing I’d want more of. Same for the clotted cream. Some things really do need to be fresh.

If you’re into black tea, their«Earl Grey Supreme»($ 6/2oz) is really delicious. Aside from that it’s a cute little shop with nice things. Worth a visit.

Went in to browse on the Fourth of July heehee. Didn’t plan on buying anything, but was won over by their very nice selection of loose tea. I bought their Apricot and Monk’s Blend teas. Very delicious! The store is a little crowded with knickknacks, etc. and their groceries are a little expensive, but that is understandable, seeing as how everything must be imported. I will be back for their tea!(and maybe to buy a wool sweater for xmas gifts!)

I absolutely love this place. I’m kind of a tea snob and this is the only place where I can get black/apricot tea. I buy it in bulk starting today. True, it did run me $ 75, but that includes shipping, and it will take me YEARS to go through the 4.4 lbs.(a huge savings, when you consider they charge about $ 24/lb loose). Love love LOVE this place! It’s also cool to see the kinds of cookies and snacks available across the pond.

Gosh, every time I think I’ve reviewed anywhere I might not have visited in awhile, I find I’ve missed yet another less than regular spot. Best of British is a 3 – 4 times a year type of spot. I don’t get to Newburyport as often as I’d like, though my credit card is grateful for that. I usually make sure to pop in when I run out of my Typhoo tea. I love this store for it’s uniqueness. They have items you just can’t get most other places. A wide assortment of teas is on that list. They also carry a wide selection of tea accoutrements, basically anything you never knew you needed to brew a cuppa. A selection of food items, health and beauty & assorted clothing rounds out the store. Prices are on par with specialty items you can’t find on the shelves of your local mart store. Regardless of what you might be in the market for, Best of British is definitely worth a pop in.

Lovely and helpful service. Great inventory of things British. Unlike many here, I didn’t find them pricey. We bought the Royal Wedding Tea, and it was right at MSRP where online retailers are selling it. It’s not discount, but that doesn’t make it expensive… A definite experience if you are in town.

Good, albeit pricey place to satisfy my tea fetish. Not kid-friendly, though.

Yes, things are a little pricey here, but where else can you get such great customer service and REAL imported clotted cream? Worth the splurge!

My boyfriend is from Ireland so we like to do a lap in there. But he thinks everything is too expensive so we rarely buy anything. But the things we do buy, we enjoy very much. I would probably buy more for him there if I knew the kinds of meats he likes. But since he knows the prices back in Ireland he never buys it, he just says he’ll wait until we go back.

I love the selection in this store but having said that, I rarely buy anything other than candy because it’s very expensive. I know it’s expensive to import items and to be fair, they sell very high-end quality things like genuine wellington boots and nice bone china. I love browsing but will rarely buy. One exception was a china coffee mug as a Christmas gift. It was $ 18, a little on the pricey side. The salespeople are friendly but I have one complaint about when buying the mug: the cashier stood there having a conversation about beauty treatments and skin care with a friend of hers while i stood there waiting to be rung up. I had to interrupt her and ask if she could ring me up. I paid cash and she was so busy with her conversation she failed to give me a receipt. I had to ask another salesperson to find the transaction and print the receipt.

Cute little store selling very expensive items from England. We walked in hoping to find a lot of the food from England, but were disappointed by the small selection of candy, etc. Lots of teas! Some cool clothing — including wellington boots! I checked out this sport coat that looked like something my dad would have worn — only this one was $ 380! OK Time to leave! Saw some colognes with signs«Don’t pinch me — you know who you are». Why would I pinch cologne?! OH right — I’m in a British store — must mean«steal». Well, there are signs EVERYWHERE telling you not to steal. Nice. Very un-welcoming. Lady behind the counter scowling at everyone who walked in. We did get some hob nobs and a flake and left. Cute tiny store with some uniquely expensive items.

Wellies and teas and mincemeat pies… oh my! This store is packed to gills with items from the UK and Ireland. There was a tea to suit every fancy and three shelves of Crabtree & Evelyn and other scents. Beautiful hats and wellies to keep you warm if the tea doesn’t do it. And plenty of Cadbury chocolates like Flake bars and walnut cremes. I’m a sucker for anything connected to my British and Irish ancestry so I picked up a coat of arms magnet for our fridge. The staff were super friendly and they sent me on my way with a friendly«Cheers!».

We got some awesome Peaches & Ginger loose leaf tea here and really enjoyed walking around and looking at the other English biscuits, crisps, tea, Cadbury candy bars, curries, canned food & desserts. There was also a large selection of old style metal toy soldiers that were fun to look at. Tea pots, tea cups, figurines, soaps, perfumes — geez! This place is impressive and took us by surprise while wandering the streets.

Cute store! Love the imported British candies and teas. Wide selection of clothing, beauty products and jams. When you are missing your Walkers Crisps, this is the place to come!

Best of British sells boxes of mincemeat, and though the pictures of the delicacy look pretty, I have no desire to eat it. Still, if I need to buy a box for someone, I know where to go! I like this specialized boutique not just for its huge selection of imported teas(oh, and did I mention nearly everything in the store is imported from the United Kingdom?) but for its steady inventory of Irish and Scottish oatmeal(I prefer the latter, with pinhead oats) and other dry goods one might find in a London grocery, traditional jams and preserves(which I buy as holiday gifts), a pint glass selection, miniature British soldier collectibles, and two entire walls of clothing and body soaps. In short, if you forgot to buy something when you last visited Harrod’s, come to Best of British and if they don’t stock it(shocking!) they can either order it or tell you where to go.

Where to satisfy anglophile mania… This quaint very very wee British goods shop sells confectionery, tea, specialty food items, toys, giftware, souvenirs, books, clothing i.e. Barbour, hats, scarves, and blankets. A nice selection of loose teas, imported items such as Heinz beans and spotted dick, cadbury chocolates(and curly whirly!!!), among lotions, perfumes, sweaters, pewter chess pieces, beer mats and more.
