History
Established in 1983.
We’ve been a part of the south Atlanta community for decades. Dr. Jack Powell III was born and raised in Newnan, attended medical school and residency, and then started practicing in Newnan in 1983 as the first board certified orthopedic surgeon in Coweta and the surrounding counties. Since then, Georgia Bone and Joint has grown to include six board certified physicians.
Our physicians live in Coweta County and Fayette County. They are standing on the sidelines at the high school games, ready to take care of your children. They go to the same churches you do, and their children attend the same schools your kids do.
We believe in being involved in our community. Georgia Bone and Joint is a proud sponsor of 2012 Oscar Night, benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Newnan, and 2011 Bluegrass and Barbecue, benefiting the Coweta Samaritan Clinic.

Business Owner
Dr. Michael Gruber is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also an active member of numerous professional societies, including the Arthroscopy Association of North America, an organization comprised of orthopaedic surgeons who have demonstrated advanced skill and interest in arthroscopic techniques. He serves on the medical staff of Piedmont Newnan Hospital and Piedmont Fayette Hospital and has served as the Chief of Surgery at Newnan Hospital. Dr. Gruber’s professional interests include sports medicine, knee, shoulder, elbow, foot, ankle and hip arthroscopy, and joint replacement surgery using minimal incision techniques.
