California Rehabilitation & Sports Therapy

If there was a zero star this is how I would rate them! I was referred specifically to see Kari Franks, by the doctor as well as a friend, and made an appointment to see her. As a female breast cancer patient, I specifically explained the importance of a female therpist upon making the appointment. Upon arrival, a male greated me and started to take some information and lacked the knowledge or compassion to adequately discuss my complex situation. After realizing he was my assigned therapist and was not someone just to take some initial intake notes, I decided to walk out of the appointment. Upon leaving the facility, I expressed my dissappointment at the scheduling error as it was humiliating for me. The blame was put on me that the appointment was made with a male therpist. This visit added insult to injury.

California Rehabilitation & Sports Therapy is awesome! The hospitality from the front desk, aides and physical therapists is very welcoming and caring. The therapists educates you why each exercise is done and the aides supervise to make sure they are done properly. They also provide printed out diagrams of each exercise for you to take home.
I would definitely recommend cal rehab! A bonus, they have the best view while working on your rehabilitation!

Ed and Joel to excellent care of me. I had broken my elbow (plates and screws) and they worked with me for 8 months! And when my insurance change that even worked with me on a very good cash price.
I can honestly say that if I had not gone to this therapy practice I would have never killed as well as I did.
PS Joel is the best therapist they have!

I hardly worked with a licensed physical therapist.
The physical therapist prescribed exercises and then every time I came her AIDE would yell them out to me and walk away while I did one. He never even watched to see if my form was correct. He would then yell out the next one and walk away again. I mentioned this to the Physical therapist who would work with me 5 – 8 minutes of an hour appointment but she seemed not to care. The day I announced that I was not continuing but could do the exercises as well on my own, she spent 20 minutes with me. Had I been getting this attention all along, I would have stayed for more sessions.
I can’t help from wondering how insurance was billed. Were they billed for an hour of a physical therapist? If I knew how I would explore this aspect of the experience.

Fantastic and professional therapists and staff. I couldn’t be more pleased with my sessions here. They take their time with you and go at your pace. I felt completely and totally at ease upon my first visit.
I came in as a Workman’s Comp Patient so my visits were limited, however I would come back if it ever deemed necessary and would highly recommend this place to anyone is in the need of PT.

My Orthopedist had referred me to Kari Franks and I’m so glad that he did. I had shoulder pain for months and thought it would heal on its own. It’s a possible torn labrum, but I decided to skip the MRI and just go straight to PT to see if that would help. After 14 sessions with Kari, my shoulder is now completely pain-​free. So I asked if she can take a look at my knees as well since I’ve been having pain when I run. I’ve only had 6 sessions so far and I think she fixed my problem! The past 3x I ran this week, I haven’t felt pain at all. I still can’t believe the results I’m getting right now. If anyone is considering going to a PT, Kari will figure out what’s wrong and will fix you. She is hands-​down the best around.

I’ve been very pleased with my experience at Cal Rehab. The staff at the Newport Beach location works hard and there is never a dull moment during my therapy sessions. Everyone is attentive and I get the most of out my time there.
I met my PT Kari Franks at a clinic that my orthopedic surgeon recommended and followed her when she moved to Cal Rehab because I was getting great results. I sprained my MCL last year and did not know it. I re-​injured the ligament months later and did not have surgery, but wore a brace and had significantly limited movement and constant pain.
Two weeks after beginning therapy with Kari, I saw more improvement than I had in 8 months. After so much time wondering if I’d be able to run or jump or surf again, it was a huge relief to feel my knee pain diminish and my range of motion start to come back.
Kari has been caring and professional. She is patient but she’ll push you in a way that makes you WANT to get results, both for yourself and just to show her you can do it!
Big thanks to Cal Rehab: once this is posted, I’m out the door for a 2.5 mile run and heading over to one of my last therapy sessions. It feels great to say that.

I am glad Kari Franks has moved over to California Rehabilitation and Sports Therapy. It’s a great new facility with friendly and helpful staff. I am looking forward to getting better quickly!

Average at best. I don’t need to go into specifics, but good PTs are able to educate you. This being the second time I tried them out (first time I found another spot right away), shame on me. But 9 plus years later and a different injury, I forgot it was the same place and booked them due to the location.
They pushed me further into pain and insulted me to my face, telling me the electrodes should be on my head. Oh, so later, a doc tells me I have tendinosis. Fers.

2 years ago I torn my achilles tendon and had to have it surgically repaired and did my PT at Cal Rehab Sports therapy in Huntington Beach so there was no doubt after I had knee surgery on December 12 2011 that was where I would return for PT Great friendly knowledgeable staff !!

After I tore my ACL and had surgery, I went to Cal Rehab for my physical therapy/​strength training to rehab my leg. The staff here is very friendly and down to earth as well as encouraging when it comes to the exercises needed to be done.
They were very knowledgable throughout my treatment and gave me advice on the activities I wanted to try during my rehab period. My exercises were personalized to help me meet my goals of wanting to be able to run long distances and play basketball again. I was able to see my progress and was encouraged to meet my goals. I felt like I was being paid attention to despite the busyness of the office. Over the course of my time there I felt like people knew me and I knew them too. The staff is pretty awesome.
They were so nice! I would definitely come here again in the unfortunate (i really hope not) case of being injured and needing rehab.
