I booked my destination wedding reception with Pacific Avalon. The party traveled from Texas, Florida, and all of New England, 58 people total. I had my wedding ceremony on M Street Beach, coordinated by Mary Matiasevich, under the yacht’s recommendation. I was a special pain in the butt, because not being able to touch or see anything for 9 months drove me crazy. I’m a months in advance detail-​orientated planner, but Mary was cool and relaxed during all the planning. She was really busy during those 9 months and didn’t always get back to me in a timely manner, which made me nervous. She met with me the day before for a rehearsal, despite a tragedy she was dealing with. She calmed my nerves and listened attentively to all my concerns. She met with my officiant, a pastor from our church in Spring, Texas, and coordinated schedules. The day of, she absolutely pulled it off! Everything from my arch with hanging chandelier, to a special table for a sand ceremony and breaking of bread and drinking of juice (wine not allowed on beach). She even had a live saxophone player and layed out my aisle runner, Party favors, chairs, fence posts and hanging lanterns prior to the guests’ arrival! I had enlisted Mary’s help with a surprise groom’s cake aboard the yacht. We don’t really like sweets, so I asked her for a pizza instead. My HUSBAND loved it! Mary even set up the centerpieces and the cakes on the yacht before we sailed. She handled a great majority of the third party communication. She was the second best thing that happened to my wedding, second only to the marriage itself.
The beach ceremony ended quicker than expected (at 5pm) when it started to rain. Mary stayed back to quickly pack up the rentals, and then met us at the yacht to dovish setting up for the rehearsal.
