Terrible «law firm». If I could give zero stars, I would. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT HIRE THESE CLOWNS. I hired them to assist with my DUI and they charged me $ 1,400. to do NOTHING except go to court on my behalf. They gave incompetent advice and there was absolutely no value add by hiring them. The older brother, Michael, reals you in with promises of a quick resolution, in your favor. The younger brother, Patrick, then takes over and is inept at answering any questions. Try asking for an invoice for their «work», you will never receive one. These two are liars and waste your time and money. DO NOT HIRE THEM!

My experience is exactly the same as everyone else here. Mike Coffey is a smooth talking salesman that made me feel like we were gonna get my case dismissed. Of course I never talked to him again after that first interview. Instead I got his brother, Patrick. That guy has the professionalism of a slaughterhouse intern. He yelled at me, insulted me and generally acted like he was doing me a favor for returning my calls. Of course they did nothing with my case until they got my final payment. The judge offer I finally received was terrible. I would have been better served getting my child to represent me. At least my child can speak to people with respect, unlike Patrick Coffey.
Scumbags and scammers.
They also go by the name of Orange County DUI Law Group, probably to hide from these Unilocal reviews.

They got me a decent deal, but nothing they say can be taken as truth. They MIGHT be telling you the truth when they speak to you, but you’re just as likely to be getting a load of garbage.
On at least two occasions I asked direct, simple questions that were very important. Each time they lied. And the thing is, they could have just said, «No, sorry, that’s just not going to be possible,» and I almost certainly would have accepted it. But instead they just lied without hesitation.
Like I said, I got a decent deal, so I’ll give two stars for that, but you’re far better off speaking with an attorney who’ll be straight up with you. You don’t want a defense attorney who you can’t trust.

If I could give a negative 5 stars on here for them I would.
I had a very good case, They charged my $ 5000 for my DUI case and did not even ask at any of the pretrial hearings if there was a deal or anything.
They waited until I gave them the last $ 1000 payment of the $ 5000 since I had to make payments and as soon as they got their last payment they took the first offer from the DA and told me that was the best I could hope for.
Completely different story from when I had my consultation with Mike Coffey where he promised that I had a very strong and very winnable case and this was a deal where I was at my house when the police showed up because of a neighbor who had a beef with my roommates over parking on the street on our block and would call on us for everything from loudness complaints to having a car parked for 24 hours on the street and have our tires chalked for not moving our cars.
I told him this and he said that he would get it tossed and even said the DMV Case was a slam dunk.
By far the worst legal representation I have ever heard of and I could have done a better job representing myself.
Please don’t get scammed by these criminals.
They will promise to fight your case and ignore you, I mean really Ignore you.
They never called me to give me an update on my case even after 4 court dates and when I called them out on it they threatened to drop my case since they had my money and I had no recourse but to let them push my case off to an associate who let the court throw the book at me so I just hope no one hires them without reading these reviews and please don’t believe these crooks.
They should have their licenses taken away from the bar association for baiting and switching when they tell you they are going to handle your case and then give it to a very under experienced associate.
I got 2 calls from them and that was after many many calls for updates and they acted like I was interrupting them.
Do not hire these crooks.
Liars and cheats and they don’t care if they get you sent to jail because they will be sleeping in their fat houses and driving their nice cars on our money for throwing their clients under the buss.
They will just plead you out on the first offer they get after they push yor court dates out as many times as they have too to get your money and then leave you to the courts to hammer you.

Worst hack attorneys on the planet! Brother (western state) reels you in with a song and dance. More inept brother (Western State) meets you in court. Never communicates with you, prolongs the process with ZERO explanation. Don’t ask a question or you will be shot and hung! how these clowns ended up in Newport is beyond me. Just get a Public Defender, at least they went to a reputable school. These guys are ambulance chasers, always plead guilty and never remotely consider trial because they are the laughing stock amongst their colleagues. Just ask any local Newport attorney. I think they have a «Regis office» since their secretary didn’t even know who they were. Fat fish in a shark tank in court ! Don’t even come close to these frauds. No cell phone given to communicate, just a serious joke of a law firm. STAY AWAY TRUST ME — — WRITE A LETTER TO THE BAR ASSOCIATION ABOUT THESE TWO PLEASE!

Save your money! Mike Coffey will dazzle you at the consultation, but that is all you will get for your buck. Pat (Mike’s brother) ending up showing up in court. He acted like a goldfish in a pool of sharks. He was unprofessional at best. It wasn’t until I called them on their bumbling of my husband’s case, did we receive a call back. DO NOT HIRE THESE CLOWNS

You get what you pay for, people. Mike was amazing at the consultation, I felt very confidant and comfortable and happily shelled out my 2 grand for them to fight on my behalf. I hadn’t met with anyone else, but received so many mailers about other services, that this seemed like a great deal.
Low and behold, you can’t get through to an attorney if you say you’re an existing client. They’ll never call you back. The only way I could get through was if I said I was a new client when I called, and then every single time I got transferred directly to their cell phones.
There was very little proactive communication, I had to reach out and ask for updates after court dates. Mike said in our meeting that he would be requesting testing records of the devices and exploring every possible situation… he didn’t.
At the end of the day, I had a run-​of-​the-​mill case with pretty basic, standard details, and attorney or no attorney, I would have gotten pretty much the same sentence. If you have a case that’s borderline or questionable, take your money elsewhere. If you just want to have someone represent you in court and handle all of the paperwork for you, then go with Coffey and Coffey. I didn’t get the service I expected, but I do have to say that looking back, I would pay $ 2k again just to not have to deal with the stress of handling it on my own.

The worst law office and lawyers I have ever delt with. Irresponsible advice. They just take your money and do the bare minimum in court.

Horrible, Horrible office, walked in and the receptionist didn’t even acknowledge me, she was jamming to her ipod. Called Mr. Coffey and was hung up on, these are the kind of people that give attorneys a bad name! Horrible!
