I visited the lovely clinic yesterday and received my very first laser hair removal procedure. I’ve heard so much hype about laser hair removal and so I wanted to try it. I originally had called the Sunset Beach location who was booked and they were fully booked — granted it was a spur of the moment thing — and they set me up for this location. I loved how convenient that was instead of doing the run around by calling different locations — great customer service in that way.
First off, I was really nervous. I was going to get it done on my upper lip to get rid of some peach fuzz. I’ve always done threading, had done waxing before, but I just want the hairs to eventually be gone. I knew back then laser was more painful and was nervous about the pain level because I am such a HUGE baby. I have NO pain tolerance.
It was easy to find, ample parking space, and lovely waiting room. I was greeted warmly and asked to fill out a 3 pg. document that asked general health info and consent form acknowledging that I understood the upcoming procedure. Waited a couple minutes (and in my nervousness, embarrassed myself by banging into the card holder and breaking it *slaps self*) and was called into the room.
I was handed an iPad where I FaceTimed with the Nurse practitioner — super cool and convenient — who asked me a few questions and gave me clearance. I had researched a couple other places and some clients had mentioned in their reviews that there was no nurse practitioners in other Laser Removal places which is scary so I was super assured that I was in a legit and professional place.
The lady (ugh I forget her name but she was GREAT) explained she was going to put numbing cream on my upper lip and have that sit for a while and said that had a fee but is totally worth it. I was like NUMB ME! lol! The room was clean, had so many gadgets, and was comfortable. Waited what felt like 10 – 15 mins. and she came back in, walked me through what was going to happen, made sure I was comfortable, handed me goggles where I couldn’t see through, applied cool gel, cold air, and said that we were going to try a small section first to see how I felt. I don’t think there’s anything quite like it — everyone asked me afterwards how it felt — and it felt like quick repeated zaps… maybe what a tattoo would feel like… and you can smell the hair burning. It did hurt but nothing that I couldn’t handle and that’s saying a lot being again I have –5 pain tolerance lol. She would make sure I was fine, paused in between to give me a couple secs to recoup — and was super quick. I believe she mentioned that since I am fair skinned but seem to have darker pigmentation, she used a higher? level of the laser — don’t quote me on that but I believe that was what she said.
After the session, she applied hydrocortisone, suggested me to use sunscreen, told me possible after effects. Paid with the suggestion that they had packages or pay as you go.
This morning I woke up, slightly tender/​sensitive and I seem to have like… little little LITTLE cuts or a burn? Size of a pea at the corner of my mouth, almost like the hair had been yanked/​burned which I understand. I called just to see if that was ok, can I put makeup, etc. and was transferred to the nurse who just told me that it was fine, keep makeup away for a while, sunscreen, and keep it moist with aquaphor or neosporin. Totally not even noticeable but since I know my face and know what I got done, I’m more aware lol. Overall, will definitely be back, have already been recommending them to everyone. Love them!

When I called to make an appointment, the lady that answered the phone and scheduled me was super helpful and accommodating. She was able to schedule me on a Friday at 5:30pm which was perfect because I was coming straight from work. Even though the location is on pch, they have plenty of reserved parking for their clients. I filled out a 2 page consent form and I was sitting in the room for only a few minutes until Cathy came in. I felt like she was knowledgeable, really down to earth and wasn’t there to up sale me or make me feel like I needed more than what I asked for. I’m impressed because I can see the difference yet it’s very natural looking. She did an amazing job!!! I got one syringe of Belotero and I was very satisfied with my results. I was very worried about the pain and bruising but it was honestly very quick and painless. I think the dentist is much worse! I would definitely recommend DermFx for all your beauty needs and I will be back.

I worked in this industry for multiple years, and upon leaving my last job, I did not know where to go for my injections. A friend recommended DermFx and I have to say, I have been thrilled. I have been in 3 times, twice for Botox and once for filler. Martha is always scheduling me in a way that benefits me somehow, I am always able to get in and I have been very happy.
I have had different injectors and they have all been sweet, talented and knowledgeable. For me, Martha has been the consistent in my experience and I have really been impressed with her customer service and her sweetness.
I appreciate the modest approach to injecting. No one is over-​doing anything. I come from a different background and this outlook is very refreshing. I am grateful to have a new home for my cosmetic needs and love that I have a place I feel comfortable referring others to.

Truly one of the better experiences of my life. I was quite nervous going in. Ingrid and my nurse were both class acts. I’m 100% sure I’ll be going back. Getting older sucks but they made it suck less ;)

I have had adult acne the past five years which has caused bad scaring… Thanks to DermFx my acne/​scares are now gone and I can go out in public again without tons of face make up. All the girls were so wonderful and I would recommend Derm to anyone who wants to feel and look younger. I am grateful everyday for the way I now feel thanks to their help! A+++

I am writing this on behalf of my wife. The ladies were so kind to her during her consultation. They told her in great detail about what she wanted wanted to know since she was a bit apprehensive. She was very satisfied with the service provided and said she would be back.

Newport location is so convenient. Prices are great, service is great and the members of the staff whom I met are great. Lisa is so kind and accommodating and really wants it to be right and she does it until it is right. Martha the manager is more than fair and Emily is a great receptionists and Susie is so knowledgable. In my opinion you get great value for your money.

I am thrilled that they opened a new facility in Newport Beach. I have been to the Seal Beach location a few times and I totally trust them with my FACE. I leave the decisions as to what procedures I need totally up to them. I have never been disappointed. They never offer me something I don’t need just to make an extra buck or two. A couple years ago I had a chemical peel preformed by a quack. Guess where I was sent to repair the damage the quack caused? Derm Fx of course! I will never go to another face place again.

I love this place! The staff is extremely friendly and professional and their prices are very competitive. I highly recommend Erin… she really knows what she’s doing (and she’s hilarious). I’ve always been happy with my results and that’s why I don’t go anywhere else.

It has taken me a few months to write this review. I went to see Erin on the recommendations of my co-​worker. She said that Erin was the best for Botox. Long story short, I told Erin that I was taking a trip the next day back home to visit my family in Florida. I told her I wanted the Botox on my forehead but, I was very concerned about having it around my eyes. I explained to her, I have bruising before and I did not want any bruising for my vacation. She ASSURED me that she knew exactly where to place the botox because she could see the veins and where to put the needle so that I would NOT have any bruising. So I said, that she should go ahead. Boy I wish I would have listened to my gut feeling and not gotten Botox around my eyes. I could feel her hit the vein it immediately swelled up and she got ice for me. I had the biggest bruise on my right eye. It was huge!!! I tried iced it and even bought Arnica but it kept getting darker and worse as each day went on. I ended up having to buy Dermablend concealer to try to conceal it but it didn’t even work! My brothers and father not to mention all the relatives I had not seen in years asked what had happened to me! My poor boyfriend who I brought with me to introduce to my family for the first time, felt as if they were thinking that he beat me or something. I will not be back to Erin for Botox. I have since found a cosmetic surgeon that does the injections with much better lighting and is actually able to see my veins and not inject into them, giving me horrible bruising. Beware if you get Botox. She is very quick, does it in a very dimly lite room and is in a hurry to move on to the next client. This ruined my trip I wanted to look great in instead I had a black eye shame on you Erin!!! This plenty of talented cosmetic surgeons in Newport Beach area that are about the same price… go to a cosmetic surgeon NOT a Med spa.

The only nurses allowed to go near my face with needles! I have had three different nurses here do injectables, and they are all awesome. They all have an eye for beauty, know how to make you look natural and are very knowledgable on all the latest skin care treatments. I am pretty much a regular here, I pop in about every 4 – 6 months. No one has any idea that I do any injectables! (unless they read this review). I also use their skin care and body wash because its all medical grade stuff, not drug-​store quality. They also have the best price on botox!

I had the Mira Dry Treatment Friday 6÷13÷14. Cathy Gillett did my treatment and she not only help to calm my nerves but also made my treatment very comfortable. She numbed me before the numbing injections and made sure I had very little to no discomfort at all. The machine got a little hot in the room and although I had to wait a little (which was not a problem) she made sure to send me home with a goodie bag. (btw I love the face wash, toner and sunblock! so thank you) So far I’m still swollen but thank goodness I iced all weekend. I really recommend anyone that has a medical sweating condition to do this treatment! If you get it tell them I sent you ;-) It’s changing my life! I do plan on getting a second treatment later this year.
