Renting a Duffy Boat is the perfect way to enjoy time with friends or celebrate a special event out on the water in Newport Beach. All of our boats fit 10 adults comfortably and have a canopy top, full window enclosure and a CD player with Ipod hookup.

Newport Harbor has great places to tie up and dine or find outstanding take-​out fare. Alternatively, you may choose to bring an assortment of food on board. Please ask one of our reservationists about our party platters; we can pre-​order for you and your order will be ready upon your arrival. We can also provide you with ice and an ice bucket. You will receive an informative map with points of interest and public dock information before you leave the dock. Of course, don’t forget to bring along your favorite CDs or Ipod.

Huntington Beach, CA
Rented a duffy boat for my birthday for a group of 9 people. I called 2 weeks in advance to make the reservation and told them the 3 hour time slot I wanted to book it for. Ended up booking it for a Saturday from 1130a-​230p during a warm weekend. They don’t charge you until you actually come in the day you take the boat out. The boat itself was huge and had plenty of room to seat 9 comfortably. They allowed us to bring on a cooler filled with beer, champagne, orange juice, dips, chips and a sandwich tray. The boats were in much better condition than a previous company I used and had a bad experience with **cough cough** Newport Pontoons, do not go there and avoid at all costs. It was a great experience and 3 hours is definitely a good amount of time to go around the harbor and you can even make a stop at Woodys or a liquor store on the water to get more booze. When finding this place, coming south on PCH from Huntington Beach, we turned right at a DUFFY sign and turns out it was the wrong place, but there was a note on the door with an address to keep going down PCH to the right location (1 minute away). That part was a little confusing, but once we found the right place, parking was easy! Would definitely recommend this place!

Huntington Beach, CA
First time cruising the harbor and Duffy’s was the easiest way to get on the water.
Find the address is a little tricky since PCH can be stupid. Cars are always driving too fast to stop at businesses right off of it. Don’t get me started on the bicyclist. Anyway Duffy’s is next to the Balboa Bay Club. There is limited parking in their lot. The reception area was spacious and seemed weirdly arranged but who cares.
The boat was in great condition. They did not have any damage and they interior was clean. The docks could be an issue if there was more people. The ramp down was pretty steep.
Rented a boat for 2 hours and that was enough time to cruise the whole harbor circuit with a couple of stops. Boats are pretty gutless but hey they are electric and don’t throw a wake. They definitely get the job done. No complaints from me. Controls are intuitive. It drives like a boat. Only annoying thing was they said they would help dock the boat on return. I was stuck honking the horn for a while until someone heard it.
2 hours were $ 198.
Overall, I will use them again for a chill day of cruising the harbor.

Rent a Duffy boat during Christmas time with a group of friends and tour the bay while looking at all the lights. This will be magical, I have no doubt. These boats have aux cords for music, center tables, and cushioned seats, all of which enhance the overall experience, which was top-​notch, of course.

This is such a great experience for locals and out of town guests alike. There’s nothing like being out on the water and navigating your own boat. I also love that you can bring whatever food and beverages you want, making this an affordable way to entertain a lot of people at once.
The first time I went with my firm for staff appreciation week. We brought pizzas, and we had charcuterie plates and wine. The second time I went with family (ages ranging from 3−60s) for mother’s day and we brought sandwich and veggie platters from Costco, as well as lots of snacks and drinks. The fact that everyone had a great time both times I went is a testament to how crowd-​pleasing this activity is.
Bonus tips:
–the tables on the boats can be small so think about food that is easy to pass around. the pizza boxes did get a little unwieldy but it wasn’t a big deal.
–they have cute captains hats for kids (and people who are kids at heart) for sale at the office.
–bring music to hook up to the speakers.
–they have ice here for your beverages
–parking here is awful and the only downside. as they will tell you, be sure to get there early and drop off all your stuff first before going to park.
It’s fun seeing all of the houses and boats with fun names around the harbor, and spotting seals. The staff here is very friendly, and do everything to ensure you have a good time. I definitely plan on doing this again.

Duffy Boat cruises of the Channel Islands are the best way to see the inner harbor, homes and boats that define the Balboa Peninsula experience. They offer a clean whisper quiet boat with a surrey top, fresh ice and a Harbor map route to follow. Our deck hand, Shawn, gave us a short primer on Captaining our Duffy Boat and 6 of us were off on a delightful 2 hour cruise after his cautioning us not to head out for Gilligans Island. Easy to steer and a ton of fun for a picnic lunch with Buttery Chardonay, it as good as 6 friends can find for less than $ 200 for 2 hours afloat. I I know we will do this again.

Wonderful day out in the California sunshine! Wine, cheese, chocolate, and good company… what more can a gal ask for? I’ve used this company twice and each time has been a blast. The boats are easy to navigate and go quite slow. This is a great way to bond with loved ones while enjoying a peaceful day on the water.
Tips:
1. Boats are small so I’d recommend NOT filling it up to the full capacity
2. Call company in advance to request speakers/​auxiliary to plug in your music
3. Bring your favorite drinks/​snacks
4. Check Groupon for some deals

Seriously the most fun my girlfriends and I have had since…(well since the trampoline place). This is the best entertainment in Newport Beach. You can load the duffy with friends, bring your own food and beverages and have a mobile boating party.
Need to recharge your psyche? This is some seriously affordable therapy; Bask in the glow of the Cali Sun, feel the gentle jostle of the waves, take in the sights and be one with nature (birds, fish, sea).
Duffy, we miss you… you really know how to show the girls a fun time.

1. Sales: Great selection of the latest styles of Duffy boats, and terrific «clearance» prices of past styles. I’m anticipating the availability of a more modern battery system.
2. Service: There isn’t much that can go wrong with a Duffy, but when something breaks, they fix it fast and well.
3. Rental: EVERYONE has to experience cruising the Harbor in a Duffy.

Rented a duffy again this weekend. The boat was very clean with a nice new top and all the wind screens were in great condition. Boat looked new even if it wasn’t new.
This is a great way to get a large group together. You can fit 10 – 12 people on the Duffy. Definitely bring your own food and drinks which makes it an inexpensive afternoon.
The staff is nice. They didn’t mind that I was a bit late in arriving. Got us ice and gave some boating tips. They cleaned up our trash on the return.
Don’t forget to tip your staff guy that got you set up on the boat!

I wanted to do something fun and different for my birthday and my mom suggested Duffy Boats. This was my first time renting one of these and I’ll tell ya, I’ll be back again and again! The venue was small yet clean and the staff was very friendly. My friends and I brought some snacks and champagne for the occasion. We got a quick run down from Prince on how to work the boat, safety on board and he gave us a map of the harbor so we knew where to go. Then we were off! We had a blast! Best way to spend a couple of hours on the water with some of my closest friends.

This is by far the best Duffy boat rental business in Newport Beach. Prince is fantastic, and the boats are always new, nice and clean. There is also convenient, free parking at the location and the business itself is easier to access than others. You bring your own food and drinks on, and the crew helps you clean up and gives you free ice. You get what you pay for with the Duffy boat rentals, and you may pay a little more to go here, but it is worth it!

I wasn’t planning to leave a review since this place is already well known and loved by lots of people, as seen in all the glowing reviews. But we received exceptional service so I am leaving this review.
I expected to have a great time since there’s few things better than a California summer little boat cruise and mini lunch with a few of your favorite people. But on top of that we received OUTSTANDING service from RYAN! It’s not very often you find someone super respectful addressing people as «sir» or «ma’am» and he even went out of his way to thank my husband for his service in the Military.
Duffy Boats: you have a gem of an employee! Thanks for your respect and professionalism Ryan! We will definitely be back in the near future!

I picked this Duffy Boat rental company for 3 reasons.
1-It’s NOT on the Peninsula (easy to get to. No traffic)
2-​Free parking in their parking lot
3-​Good Unilocal reviews.
I made reservations over the phone about a week earlier, the check-​in process was super easy, the staff was friendly, there was a clean waiting area with covered picnic tables and the process of getting us in/​out of the boat was super smooth. We did ask for a bucket of ice, which we didn’t get, but that was partly our fault because we asked after we had boarded and didn’t exactly wait. The sound system worked & the boat was clean.
They deck hands gave us a quick 1 minute tutorial about how to drive the boat, pointed out where we shouldn’t go on the map, told us what to watch for and believe it or not, that was enough and we were off.
I can’t wait to use this company again! The prices are very reasonable and the staff is great.

We LOVE Duffy!!! We have rented a boat twice from here. Both times we got the Duffy Electric Boat for $ 198. They invented the Duffy boat which is why it’s more expensive. During weekends, there is a 2 hour minimum. We got 12 people on the boat (which is the max) so it ended up being less than $ 20 a person — not bad at all!!!
I have zero complaints about Duffy. It’s one of my favorite things to do in OC. There are a few awesome things to point out:
— You can bring your own food and drinks, including alcoholic beverages!!! Booze cruise anyone?!
— They supply you with a bucket of ice in a floatable container (in case you go overboard??) lol
— You can bring your iPod and hook it up to the port in the boat to play music during your boat ride.
— The boat has shades which you can drop down in case you get cold.
— They give you free popcorn when you’re waiting to board.
— Anyone can steer the boat! No prior experience required, or needed.
Make sure you use the bathroom before you hop on board, especially if you’ll be drinking ;)
