Meet the Business Owner
Terry M.
Business Owner
In 1980 Terry MacRae and a partner acquired Hornblower Coach Tours. Included in the company assets was a 75-passenger catamaran, the M/V Admiral Hornblower. While business initially focused on private group charters, the company showed confidence in the future by signing a long-term facility lease in the Berkeley Marina in Berkeley, CA.
In 1992 Terry MacRae became the sole owner of Hornblower Yachts, Inc, which was rebranded as Hornblower Cruises & Events to more accurately reflect the products and services offered. Bucking a nationwide recession, Hornblower posted 10% annual revenue increase during the early 1990’s.
Between 1998 and 1999 Hornblower was the recipient of several awards including; the Newport Beach Conference & Visitors Bureau Member of the Year award; Hornblower CEO, Terry MacRae, was named the California Travel Industry Association’s «Entrepreneur of the Year» in 1999 and in 2007 he was named Most Admired CEO of the Year by the San Francisco Business Times.
