Wow! Had my first acai bowl — the bliss one — and it definitely lived up to the hype! It’s a bit pricey, but I’ll definitely be back for a treat.

I was never a big fan of acai but my sister convinced me to get some with her after my interview. Oh man am I glad she talked me into it. I got the Cacao Bliss and it was delicious!!! I’m so glad it’s so close to where I will be working this summer. They put the perfect amount of toppings and the blend of chocolate and acai was ON POINT. They gave us samples of organic almond milk matcha and matcha/​blueberry. Soooooooo gooood. Definitely coming back here once I start work! Oh, and the employees are bomb! Super friendly people :)

I’m so excited to find an organic fresh clean place that delivers. I got a delicious Acai Bowl. I can tell the fruit was super fresh. They make fresh juice and they have vegan ice cream/​non dairy. I love that they care about environmental issues and support

Friendly & knowledgable staff! We visited from PA and it turns out that the gentleman working was from an hour away from us in PA! Talk about a small world!
We tried the green juice and the complexion juice. It’s pretty good as far as vegetable juice goes, and I must say, my skin looked radiant my entire week in California!

It is a bit tricky to find since it’s tucked away in a tiny courtyard right next to an expensive home décor store.
I had lunch already but was still hungry so I got a small bowl as «dessert». I wouldn’t consider this a good meal substitute since it is a bit on the sweet and desserty side in my opinion.
I ordered a half size of the Cacao ACAI bowl and really enjoyed it. I couldn’t finish the whole thing even though it was only the half size.
Also ACAI is already pretty sweet so I opted not to get honey on mine.
There’s an outdoor courtyard with lots of seating by a wall of sweet scented jasmine vines.

Acai is really good here. Does not get busy at all. It’s a pretty nice area with plenty of seating. Would come back when in the area.

Omg the «just like a date» smoothie is soooooo amazing!!! You definitely won’t be disappointed!

KRISP has some great flavors and is by far my favorite juice spot.
My go-​to is always the «Super Mood» juice with beets, apples, lemon, cucumber. If they don’t have the Super Mood available, then I usually go with the Refresher smoothie (which is a little more affordable).
I brought these juices to a client meeting and I think they were a success! I’m also a fan of their loyalty card (buy 10 juices, get one free).
I am only giving KRISP 4 stars instead of 5 because sometimes they run out of my favorite juice.

This is a must stop if you are looking for a delicious cold press juice, smoothie, acai bowl or even vegan ice cream. My boyfriend and I were doing a juice detox last week and were on a hike near Newport. After the hike we were starving, with the help of Unilocal I stumbled upon this place. The girl at the front was super helpful she explained to us all the options and recommended the acai bowl. I stuck with the raw smoothie and ordered the Refresher smoothie with Cucumber, cold pressed pineapple juice, cold pressed ginger juice, lime juice, banana and pineapple. It was super delicious and refreshing after hiking 10 miles. It almost felt like more of a treat then a ‘healthy’ smoothie.
I did try the vegan ice cream but didn’t order it. I sampled the chocolate hazelnut one and it was rich and creamy. Next time I am near by I will definitely stop by and I do recommend this place to anyone. This is one of my favorite juice/​smoothie place.

Best ACAI ever!!! We always order the cacao bliss acai bowl, 32 oz. and I will stick with that forever.
The wait has not been so bad until the last time I went and waited for at least 45 minutes!!! That includes waiting in line and waiting for our acai bowl… I felt bad for the one person working there… But I felt bad for us and everyone else who patiently waited just for a smoothie… It was getting pretty frustrating and if I had known I would have called in beforehand like a couple others did.
Maybe hire more people for busier days like weekends? I would suggest a more efficient way of making the smoothies, but I do appreciate the individual attention each acai bowl gets. But definitely hire more people!
I will continue to return (as long as they continue to have their awesome check in deal)… But just keep in mind that you might have to wait awhile!

*** Vegan ice cream ***
«KRISP» uses coconut milk and «agave» for the ice cream.
I love to eat healthy in general. I come to learn about my intakes a lot more for the reason.
Vegans and «healthy minded» people use agave a lot lately, but agave isn’t healthy as many people claim. I personally don’t use it at all. I researched on it and many doctors don’t even recommend it: The reason agave ranks relatively low on the glycemic index is because it has a high content of fructose. Fructose does not readily raise blood sugar (glucose) levels because the body doesn’t metabolize it well. Research suggests that excessive fructose consumption deranges liver function and promotes obesity. The less fructose you consume, the better.
The markets and «healthy» food shops (that don’t understand the ingredients they use nor mind deceiving you) sell you it as if it were healthy. It is wrong — I do mind it and so should you. Most acai places use it, which I do mind. When I make acai bowls, I don’t use agave at all and still can make it sweet with all the fruits I add. Personally I don’t appreciate the dishonest or ignorant business that pushes «agave» as if it were better alternative sweetener than others. Agave has a higher fructose content than any other common sweetener, more even than high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). It’s worse than HFCS and do you still prefer agave???
I prefer «maple syrup» for vegan free, which is more expensive than agave yet it’s a total vegan free sugar. KRISP uses organic products yet it was sad to see they use «agave» proudly or blindly (or they don’t care «healthy eating» much, I don’t know.)

Vanilla coconut: Mmmmm… Vanilla flavor was super weak. I tasted coconut milk a lot more than vanilla, so it was more like «coconut milk flavor with a hint of very subtle vanilla. I made vanilla ice cream with vanilla beans, so this was too weak for me.
I doubt about the freshness, too.
1) Many pictures on Unilocal didn’t have a clean scoop of ice cream — so as mine. The young «male» staff had a difficulty scooping it, which indicated it was too hard (too cold freezer or less freshness)… It was an ugly scoop and not so tasty ice cream.
2) I also tasted «mint». I hate mint. My taste bud is very keen. I detect flavors well. Somebody must have scooped mint ice cream and the vanilla one at the same time… They must have sit there for a while?! The tabs were very big for non-​ice cream shop. You know how hard the free ice cream you scoop by yourself out of the big thrifty tab at Korean BBQ places? (it’s funny if you could understand it ;p) Fresh ice cream should be able to scoop easier than that.
That’s why I suspect about the freshness…
Salted caramel: I don’t know what they did, but it tasted nothing like salted caramel. It was a bit bitter and tasted weird. I lost words when the staff asked me how the taste was (after I tasted it). I don’t know what it was but it wasn’t tasty at all for sure.

I should stick to acai bowls here. Acai bowl here is one of the best around here.
Vegan ice cream was a mistake. It’s $ 2.50 for a scoop, yet I won’t try it again.
I know vegan ice cream could be better than this.
Using agave is another reason for knocking down the star.
Stick to acai bowls.

How have I lived walking distance to this place for years and not known about KRISP?!
Their storefront is a little hidden, even with the assistance of Google Maps my boyfriend was having difficulties locating the exact corridor we should turn into, but wandering through the plaza and discovering the other hidden gems was half the fun. (There is the cutest knitting store nearby!)
After being offered numerous samples to try out their various offerings and newer products, my boyfriend and I ordered the date and maca smoothies along with a jasmine sea salt tea, all very delicious and surprisingly filling.
The ladies behind the counter were some of the friendliest I’ve encountered, and coupled with the neat décor– love the tiles on the wall and below the smoothie bar!- made for a great ambiance. We will definitely be back.

Usually I go to a place a few times to get the vibe before I write a review, but with KRISP it was apparent from the minute I walked in how great this place is!
Friendly staff made such a great first impression. And the special Unilocal deals made it even better! A discount with a check in and they’re more than willing to give you lots of free samples as you make a decision. Usually when I go to juice places, it’s like pulling teeth to get a free sample. Here, they offered without me asking! Super friendly.
What is also great about this place is the wide variety. Juices, smoothies, ice cream, acai bowls, sea salt jasmine tea with cream (to die for), nut milks.
I had their Green acai bowl and ate it up within minutes. You can’t go wrong with this place! It’s something special.

I wish I lived closer! They have my favorite bowl in the history of ever: pink Himalayan acai bowl. The bowl is has acai, banana, strawberry, and coconut water and topped with granola, pink Himalayan salt, coconut shavings, hemp seeds and chia seeds. I saw that they had a bowl with greens, but all I had to do was ask for them to add greens.
The space is hard to find — it’s in an alleyway on Westcliff by Café Gratitude. The sign is pretty easy to see though. The space is modern and large enough — I’ve gone during down times. They have modern décor and serve not just acai bowls, but they also serve pitaya bowls, cold-​pressed juices, nut milks, coconut milk ice cream, and tea.

Came back to try the cocoa bliss smoothie this morning and it was so damn delicious. I’m not the type to throw around 5 stars to anything that tastes good, but this place really deserves all its bomb ratings.
It’s soo different from any other acai bowl I’ve had and the consistency is perfect, it’s thick and doesn’t melt fast. Every item on the menu sounds unique and it’s not your typical acai bowl with simple fruits and veggies. The granola is extremely fresh and crispy – almost like it was right out of a new box. It’s beautifully presented and I also really enjoyed the hints of cocoa. I really enjoyed the first couple bites but as you keep eating it, it gets better and better. TOTALLY recommend this one!
You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, you can tell that each product was developed and perfected with care. It takes me 25 minutes to drive here from my house but it’s sooo worth it. Everything is fresh, delicious, and guilt-​free. The cherry-​on-​top is that it’s decently priced too and there’s even a 20% check in deal on Unilocal.And a free sea salt green tea with purchase. What more could you ask for?!

When I saw five stars for a place with acai bowls, my heart dropped. As an avid acai lover, I am always looking for places that serve up fresh and delicious bowls that amaze me. Luckily, KRISP did just that. The interior of the shop is extremely cute – it feels very modern and natural, which reflects their food. Not only does this place serve up acai/​pitaya bowls, but also milks, shots/​elixirs, vegan ice cream, and other items! Definitely a great place to go if you’ve been bad and need to cleanse yourself.
Came here with a friend, and the awesome place about this is that you can get a 32 oz. bowl and SPLIT to share for a cheaper price for each; $ 7.50 for a 16 oz, and $ 11.50 for a 32 oz! That’s awesome. Don’t know of any other place that does this, and I absolutely love the concept already. Looking at the numerous bowls they have, we decided to try the Pitaya Guava. Also had the opportunity to try their sea salt green tea!
Pitaya Guava Bowl ($ 7.50÷16 oz, $ 11.50÷32 oz): includes «pitaya, guava juice, banana, mango, agave; on top granola, banana, blueberry, coconut shavings, and hemp seeds.» When I first tried it, I thought it was a very solid bowl. However, as you eat it, it seems to get even better. There’s something about adding guava juice that just brings the whole bowl together. The pitaya was light and refreshing, just the right amount of sweetness blended in with the rest. The blend was absolutely delightful and better than any other acai place that I have had. The granola on top was so solid – so crunchy and flavorful, I just loved it with the rest of the blend. ABSOLUTELY recommend this one.
Sea Salt Green Tea ($ 4.50): definitely a very refreshing green tea that works well with the cream on top. Basically, they add cream (you can choose vegan or regular). I went with vegan, and it actually tasted amazing. They didn’t add sugar to mine because they ran out, but it absolutely did not need it. The cream on top was light, not overpowering one bit, but if you imagine a very mild version of green milk tea, that’s what you get (but it tastes GUILT-​FREE :O).
Also tried out the vegan ice cream, which I actually somewhat preferred over regular ice cream. Light yet creamy, and you can barely tell it’s vegan. All the flavors I tried (salted caramel, cherry amaretto [my favorite], and chocolate hazelnut) were so good!
I would definitely recommend checking this place out! Service was amazing, the food here was AWESOME. I’m already contemplating driving back there for another bowl, but I just went yesterday!

Heard about this place from a good friend so decided to check it out.
Just had the large Berry Orchard Bowl this morning and it was amazing. So delicious and healthy. It comes with Acai, blueberry, strawberry, banana, cold pressed apple juice with granola, strawberry, blueberry and banana on top. They will also add honey to it if you prefer.
Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

I tried KRISP for the first time a few months ago and fell in love! The first time I went my roommates got their acai bowl, their smoothie and one of their juices.
My favorite is their citrus juice. It might be a little too tart for some people but I add a little cayenne and it’s perfect! They’re always very helpful and let you sample any of the juices. Everything is about $ 10 which is a little pricey but well worth the splurge every once in a while and it’s good for you too!

This little gem recently opened in Costa Mesa and is located at the eastern end of 17^th St, which turns into Westcliff. They offered a free scoop of ice cream for National Ice Cream Day when you like their page on Facebook. They also had a Unilocal check-​in offer for 20% off your first order! Because this time around I came in for a free ice cream scoop, I decided to save the Unilocal Check-​in offer for next time.
This was my second time at KRISP, and both times the staff have been super hospitable and friendly. I love the service here! There were two girls working at the time, and they allowed me to sample a variety of flavors before I narrowed it down. The spoonfuls were pretty large too. I tried a small spoonful of the Chocolate Hazelnut Vegan Ice Cream. Healthy AND good! It had a hint of coconut milk since all the vegan ice creams are made of coconut milk. The salted caramel and mint galactica were also pretty good. I ended up getting half a scoop of the chocolate hazelnut and half a scoop of the mint. The portions are big here! One scoop of ice cream was about $ 2.50, so pretty reasonable in price, especially considering the portion size. Acai bowls go for $ 7.25 for a 16 oz and $ 11.50 for the super big size (32 oz, I think), which 2 people could easily split. I think they raised the price from the first time I came here.
There are a few seats in the store, as well as out door seating. They do accept credit cards for those of you who like to carry plastic. Parking is pretty easy as they share a lot with several businesses.
This shop is an excellent choice for an after-​workout juice or snack, as everything here is organic and super fresh. Not only is it healthy, but super tasty too! The best part is the service is exceptional, and you’re always greeted with a smile and samples.
