Mark Patterson Fine Jewelry is a Newport Beach-​based fine jewelry brand founded in 1985 in New York City by Mark and Josette Patterson. The brand reflects their creative partnership, and defines their design philosophy to create jewelry made ethically in their studio with the finest gemstones and the best quality in craftsmanship.

I grew up in southern California and studied Gemology at the Gemological Institute of America in Santa Monica. It is there, that I met my wife Josette who was enrolled in the Jewelry Art and Design program. Soon after we graduated, we both left to further our education in New York City, I apprenticed in swiss goldsmithing technique while Josette was honing her design skills. For 25 years we designed and manufactured fine jewelry in our studio in New York City and sold to fine retailers nation wide. We moved back to Southern California and five years ago opened our Flagship studio and store in Corona del Mar, Newport Beach. We have been recognized in the industry as innovators and won several awards. Our one of a kind pieces are collected by private clients nationwide,

My husband had my engagement ring custom made out of state. So when I had to get it resized, we needed to find a local place and took it to Mark Patterson. Mark was there when we brought it in. He was so kind and helpful, and showed us how to «identify» the center diamond so I always know I’m getting my correct ring/​diamond back if ever left to get cleaned/​repaired with a jeweler. A year and a half later, I needed to get it resized again. Two days before my wedding, Mark met me before the store was open to look at my ring. He and his team were amazing and went above and beyond to resize and clean my ring and had it ready a few hours later. For giving such great service to is when they didn’t make our ring, was such a testament to the amazing people they are. I highly recommend Mark Patterson and won’t ever go to another jeweler after wonderful experiences with them.

We recently had our wedding bands created by Mark. My engagement ring band was hard to match because I didn’t want to go with two bands (one on each side)… I just wanted one ring. We made an appointment with Mark to explore options and he brought to life a ring we had imagined that was not currently in his show room.
Words cannot express my gratitude and how happy we are with how the band turned out. The level of service we have received from Mark and his family is impeccable.
I recommend Mark Patterson for all jewelry needs, regardless of budget.

I found Mark Patterson’s website while doing a search for engagement ring ideas. His designs are fresh and standout from the cliché styles. I discovered his showroom and design studio was in the area of my workplace, so I visited it one day during my lunch break. Upon first meeting Mark was friendly and proud to show me his portfolio. I learned that he does bespoke projects and one of his specialties is color stone gradients. I love color and we then began work on a custom design. He created a 3D model which we reviewed before I have the approval to make the actual ring. My fiancée/​now wife loves it! After having such a great experience with Mark, we returned to him to make our custom wedding rings and this spring had him make some custom earrings for my mom in honor of her 75th birthday. High recommended!

Mark Patterson Jewelry is a top-​notch, high quality, beautiful designer with great attention to detail and artistry. We had such a great experience with Mark, Josette, and Judy! They are very professional, great listeners, and made us feel very welcome in their studio. My engagement ring was so beautifully made by Mark and his team. They also did the wedding bands for my husband and I, and they were able to create unique designs incorporating the ideas we talked about. I was looking for a thicker pave band to match the engagement ring, and Mark went above and beyond to complete it before our wedding. Mark Patterson and his team are absolutely incredible! Not only is the jewelry as sturdy and as beautiful as it comes, but it is topped only by the incredible service they offer. I am a first time jewelry buyer, at 22 years of age, but not once did I feel judged for my age, my lack of knowledge, or my disheveled appearance (I am an archaeologist who came in wearing dirty field clothes). Mark Patterson and Judy Jensen have the utmost professionalism and the most friendly demeanor. I told Judy my budget over email (without ever making a phone all) and she helped my find the perfect setting and an even more perfect diamond while staying right in my budget. They had two diamonds shipped from New York in two days so I could view them. Mark Patterson himself showed me the diamond under the microscope and explained it’s specifications, and he even sped up the setting process of my order so I could have the ring in hand to ask my girlfriend’s (now fiancé’s) parents on a trip to Arizona. I have no complaints about this store; only endless amounts of thanks and praise. Thank you, Mark, Judy, and staff!

We had and continue to have the best experience with Mark Patterson Jewelry. My now husband purchased my engagement ring here last year and it is simply stunning. He went in a few different times when making his decision and he felt so comfortable with Mark and Judy as he made one of the most important purchases of his life. After we were engaged, he was so excited for me to go in and meet them. I loved it because they were excited for us and it was so cool to spend time with Mark who is a great artist. We then purchased our wedding bands here too and they are gorgeous. Since we have had our rings, I have passed by the store a couple of times and Mark happily cleaned our rings which I love! I would say that my two favorite things about MPJ are that it is one of a kind and the service feels very personal.

First off, I want to say THANK YOU to Mark, Judy and staff at Mark Patterson. I would give more stars if possible. Guys out there, seriously, look no further. Mark Patterson and his team have beautiful rings in store and can also customize the ring of your loved one’s dream. I shopped all over North Orange County and Los Angeles county, and finally decided to check south Orange County. I was so pleased with the service that was provided by Mark and Judy. Everyone on this team is so humble and honest. I went in there completely lost after jewelry store after jewelry store tried to get me to buy the first ring and say «No pressure, BUT this ring will sale if you don’t buy it so wanna make a down payment right now?“Nope!
Ring shopping can be intimidating but not once did I feel this here. Find out what your lady wants bring in a picture of the ideal ring (what I did) and mark and his team will take it and make it look ten times as good.
Also, they will go over some pretty important details about what the heck you Should be looking for when purchasing a diamond, most places won’t do that, keep that in mind.

Mark, Jossett, Judy and team are incredible! We just can’t say enough about how amazing they are! My husband first worked with Mark to design my custom engagement ring. It turned out flawlessly and so incredibly special because it’s unlike any other ring. After that, we knew we were going to have our bands made by Mark as well and again we were beyond happy with how they turned out. Everything is done in house which is also a huge plus. The atmosphere when we walked through the doors made us feel instantly comfortable. We stop in often and it’s always such a pleasure to see them. Their service is impeccable. If you are looking for a custom jeweler that produces high quality pieces, then Mark Patterson is it. I wanted a custom engagement ring that had the craftsmanship of what you would find at Cartier or DeBeers. I searched throughout Los Angeles and Orange County but was not satisfied until I stepped into this store. I had an idea of what I wanted and Mark designed a ring that exceeded my expectation.
