Paul Monte stands out among real estate agents for 1^st time home buyers. We could not have asked more from him as a buyers agent. Paul is extremely professional, shows great attention to detail, is extremely conscientious, and has an awesome personality. We are still kicking ourselves and wondering how fortunate we were to find him!
We were initially referred to him via First Team through their website, and had no previous connection otherwise. Hence, we were naturally apprehensive at the beginning. The only negative from our initial encounter was that he had a tendency to provide too much information for us to digest, but there in lies his attention to detail! However, he is always glad to slow down to clarify and explain terms that we are not familiar with, and never bothered by our ignorance. We found him to be extremely responsive: he almost always picks up his phone, and ALWAYS calls back promptly on the same day if he’s unable to answer.
After the first couple of weeks working with Paul, we truly realized what a gem he was as a person and an agent. His property walk throughs were always very detailed, and he is able to point out details about the property (both the good and red flags) that we would not have noticed out ourselves. He can almost pass of as an inspector with his diligence! If we had any concerns (or if he had any for that matter), he would promptly contact the seller’s agent to obtain the required information. Our experience with another realtor was quite different to say the least.
As first time buyers, we were in the process of discovering the type of property that would meet our needs (location, SF vs Condo, etc.). Paul was very patient throughout the process and took the time to learn our tastes and requirements. I can confidently say that we never felt any undue pressure from him on any property. Throughout the process of viewing dozens of properties, there was only one property that he strongly recommended (which we offered on but finally backed off), but he worked with us and heard our thoughts nonetheless.
We finally found the property that we just closed on a week and a half ago. The process was very challenging due to our poor choice of the lending broker (not a fault of Paul in any way). If it wasn’t for Paul diligently working with the sellers, escrow and lender, I’m quite sure we would have fallen out of escrow and lost the purchase. Paul also provided excellent advice on negotiating with the buyers which led to a very positive experience between us and the sellers.
As another testament to his attention to detail, he spotted some termite issues in a discrete location in the house during the formal inspection that the inspector had missed. This not only saved us the repairs, but ensured that the house got tented prior to the sale.
In summary, a home purchase can be very challenging for first time buyers who aren’t familiar with real estate. I would give Paul Monte my greatest recommendation as a buyer’s realtor to help in this process.

In a sea of mediocre real estate agents, Paul is a true exception. He is professional, knowledgeable, and intelligent. Paul is an amazing realtor, and has a genuine care for his clients. He demonstrated that to us constantly, making time to visit houses as early or as late as we could accommodate, 7 days a week. The man is a machine, and will always answer his phone and is always hunting for new properties to visit alongside you. The wife and I were rather picky, and he still stuck with us for quite a while, until we felt we found the right house. And once we did go into escrow, he was aggressive in following up with all parties to make sure everything went smoothly and there were no issues along the way. And after we closed, he’s still made time to be there for questions, suggestions, and advice. You can literally not find a better realtor out there, and we wouldn’t have our house if it wasn’t for Paul.

In March, I began looking into buying a new home. One of my friends at work told me about his home purchase experience and advised me to call Paul Monte at First Team. Paul was my second agent. At my first meeting with Paul, it was very clear he had experience and knowledge of the So. Cal market and had top-​notch realty expertise.
We first started looking for homes in Corona, CA and finally ended up in Orange County. I purchased my home in Aliso Viejo. Paul was also instrumental in finding another lender after a minor problem with the first mortgage lender, making it a smooth purchase.
As a first time home buyer, Paul was awesome to work with. I admired his professionalism and expert advice throughout the entire process. Best of all, with Paul you’re the Boss– he makes it his job to help you get the home of your dreams.
