Beautiful jewelry and excellent customer service!!!

I was honored by my son when he asked me to help him pick out a ring for his fiancée. We had been told by numerous friends that we should go to William Harold. In fact, the mother of one of our friends has known the owners for years. So, the week before Thanksgiving, we started our shopping experience.
When we entered William Harold, I informed a lady behind the counter that we were on a mission and had been sent to them by their good friend, XXXX. They acted like they had never heard my friend’s mother’s name and didn’t give us the time of day. After awhile, a young Asian lady (with an Hispanic surname) approached us and began one of the worst shopping experiences I have ever suffered. She proceeded to talk down to my son, discount his knowledge of diamonds, discount his thoughts regarding the design set forth by his fiancée, refuse to appraise the diamonds we were going to trade in for a small fraction of the purchase, and basically asked us to come back when we were ready.
Ready? Really? We proceeded to leave the store and drove down to South Bay Jewelry in Aliso Viejo where we were treated with respect, dignity, and kindness. We ended up buying the ring that day and, much to my surprise, my son spent over $ 10,000 for something really special.
The experience at William Harold would have me recommending that anyone avoid this place. Why anyone would want to have an awful experience like this is beyond me. We have since purchased several additional pieces from South Bay Jewelry and are very happy. I will never step into William Harold again. I hope you are able to learn from this review and change your customer service to prevent losing sales.

We went in to look at estate rings, not only was the perfect diamond there, it was a very reasonable price. I didn’t like the setting so they offered to make me one for free! It only took a week to make and it’s so perfect. Such an awesome team! Will be back for sure!

After searching online and visiting many stores in LA and OC, my wife and I got our wedding bands from William Harold Jewelers two years ago. The quality and service were top notch and you will not find better prices anywhere in LA or OC. Also, unlike many stores, they can do both modern and classic settings. My wife wanted a vintage setting for her ring and they did it no problem. Also, they recently cleaned and serviced my Omega Seamaster. Excellent service, great work and fast turnaround. The watch is 11 years old but looks like new. Do not waste your money and time at the mall or at a chain store. William Harold Jewelers is the best. They’ve been in Newport forever and there’s a reason why.

After writing my previous review I was contacted by Tim who offered to give me a full refund for my daughters earrings. Still sad it didn’t work out but very pleased with their customer service and receiving my full refund.

I’ve worked with Gail, Ben and Tim and they are all amazing. They are extremely knowledgeable and are more than happy and patient to help with any questions. I had a very odd situation take place prior to going to them for my wife’s engagement ring. The other jeweler was robbed the day after I dropped off my main deposit. But William Harold worked with me and found me an even better diamond. I put a short deadline on Ben to get a setting and he made it happen… happily too I should add. Since then we have had a few issues with the setting, not anybody’s fault, just not as quality as we expected. So when my wife contacted them about an issue this last time Gail told us to come in and she would take care of us. She definitely went above and beyond for us and we can’t thank her enough. They definitely stand by their quality of work for the happiness of their customers. Won’t go anywhere besides William J. Harold ever again

They are GREAT in here. I’ve needed to stop in a few times for different things and every time they have always been amazing. Super nice, always willing to go above and beyond to help with anything that you need, and if they can’t help you, they will tell you who and where can. I really can’t say enough positive things about them. They are awesome.

Six stars. I happened upon William Harold Jewelers while visiting in Southern California and stopped in to get a new watch battery. Installing the battery was easy, but replacing the crystal proved problematic and required the use of a press, but the person who knew how to operate it was gone for the day. I was traveling on and couldn’t come back to pick up the watch, so WHJ told me they’d finish the job and FedEx my watch to me at no extra charge. How nice!
While in the store, I interacted with the staff and looked at the great estate items and new watches. I was just there for a battery but I was treated like a long-​time and faithful customer … which I’d become if I lived closer. THANKS WHJ!

Awesome experience. Friendly, fast, and reliable… went in for a watch battety switch, done in 10 minutes, quoted me 10 and charged me 5. Tick in every box as far as I’m concerned, I’d go back for sure.

This review is for working with Ben at William Harold. Highly recommended. The store had a beautiful selection of vintage/​estate and new pieces. We were looking for a vintage/​estate engagement ring that «spoke to me» and visited William Harold, as well as the following stores in the area:
Rambling Rose Estate Jewelry in Orange — amazing selection, great customer service, but high prices
Corona Del Mar Jewelry Consignment — they didn’t have much of a selection of what I was looking for at the time, but the customer service was good. Stock always changes so I would return here

OC Estate & Jewelry Company — not the best selection or customer service
Watch & Wares — I had a worst experience here! Will NEVER return.
Of the places I went, the best was William Harold. Ben was incredibly patient and understanding with my many questions regarding the engagement ring. They provide a thorough third-​party appraisal that was accepted with my insurance company (I decided on Jeweler’s Mutual) and made a lot of changes to fix the ring after purchase. I did have a negative experience with one of the women that worked in the store, but Ben corrected it all in time. I think if you are a young couple, you should ask for Ben. Overall, I would definitely recommend this store to my friends and family. The customer service was outstanding, selection was extensive and I’ve received many compliments on my ring.

Horrible customer service. Didnt get greated when I came in. Waited for more than 10 minutes without being recognized. They didnt take more than a 5 second gance at my 14kt gold item that I brought in.

I don’t know much about jewelry but the entire staff, especially Gayle, were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and helped me ring shop. Can’t say enough great things about this awesome crew.

From the instant you walk into their gallery, William Harold Jewelers makes you feel right at home. After reading all the other reviews her on Unilocal I was hoping for an amazing value and that was exactly what I got. I came in with a budget and an I idea of what I wanted as far as diamond and setting and they absolutely blew away my expectations. Ben took the time to explain everything as far as the characteristics of the diamond I was purchasing. It was like attending a mini seminar on diamonds. He patiently answered my million questions and even found and ordered the perfect setting. Oh, and their estate jewelry collection is amazing… and affordable.

A beautiful store run by extremely honest professional and very, very reasonable repair prices, most honest jewelry store anywhere.

Took my wedding band in to resize. Quote over the phone was $ 50 — 75 $ depending. Picked it up today. $ 45. Perfect fit. They also polished it and it looks like when my bride first placed it on my finger 25 years ago. Awesome!

One night my then boyfriend and I discussed getting married so naturally, the next day I grabbed one of my girlfriends and went ring shopping. I knew I wanted something unique and from somewhere local and found William Harold Jewelers on Unilocal.We stopped in and after talking to Ben, he showed me a several rings and then finally a STUNNING, diamond and platinum, 1920’s Art Deco ring. Lets just say, I fell in love like no ring before, I felt like it was made just for me.
Months later he proposed and made me the happiest woman in the world.
(Turns out my friend had called my boyfriend and he went and picked it up that month but waited to propose).
When it was time to pick up our wedding bands, we naturally went back to William Harold. My now Husband got a platinum band and I got a diamond and platinum eternity band. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. they’re really attentive, helpful and don’t pressure you.
