Alexander (Sandy) shoots location and stock photography of adventures, commercial work, and documentary projects anywhere. He is based in Newport, RI where he has his fine art print gallery, and working studio.

History

Established in 1998.

I first got my photo career going while renting an office in Bowen’s wharf and shooting commercial projects around Newport. I then moved to 89 Thames and took over the store front gallery space in 2001 — been here ever since. Selling my fine art prints, shooting product here, and running my assignment and stock photography business.

Art and story, on the road, off the road — 46 countries. Published in National Geographic Adventure, Outside and elsewhere, Sandy Nesbitt’s photographs are complex, fact-​filled, narrative images as well as beautiful tributes to excitement and passion for the world.

Named Travel Photographer of the Year, Spirit of Adventure category, Sandy’s most recent images bring you to the children and volunteers of the Flying Kites orphanage in Kenya. A 90-​minute drive to Nairobi but a world away from his home in Newport, RI.

Sandy’s dedication to documentary photography is at the core of his vision, a vision that captures the quirky essence of the places you’ve been, wanted to see, or wouldn’t dare to visit.

A graduate of Pratt Institute, his images invite you to hike with him on Mount Kilimanjaro, kiteboard in Cuba and Brazil, ride camels, sail the yacht, or just stop and savor a rich experience of adventure.
