Just had an app, okay nachos. The real problem was with the games. Many were broken/​out of order. One Harley Davidson game, one Hummer, the Duck Dynasty game. We skipped all the zombie/​shooting games. Went on a Saturday afternoon and it soon was packed. Had to wait in line to play a game, as kids swiped their cards over and over leaving you to wait for a long time, not just one or two rounds. The ticket games were pricey ($ 10 for 40 credits, I think) and the games seemed to take about 8 – 10 credits each. We played 5 ticket games for $ 10 and only earned about 140 tickets (enough for a key chain and a piece of candy). At Scene 75 we had a $ 20 game card, played ticket games for 2 hours and earned 1500 tix. So I was stunned this was so low. I didn’t add any additional $$ to the card for ticket games, it wouldn’t have gotten us anywhere. We did have unlimited video game play which was fun, when we could get on the games.

Had our sons 6^th Birthday here! What a great time and very reasonable party package price! Great place for kids, even if not celebrating a birthday or other event here!

Gameworks is pretty solid overall. The food is decent and the portions are of a good size. Of course, you also have the fun pf the games which can make for a fun night out with the family. But if you want to get the best value then go on Thursday night when they have drink specials and game play for most games is unlimited for $ 10.

Took the kiddo in here while up at the levee because we were hungry and well. Video games. Being a Wednesday we got the special where you pick from certain entrees and get an hour of game play on the «non ticket» games. Frankly the last thing my house needs is more crappy stuffed animals from ticket games anyway. Also got half off appetizers and house wine with happy hour. The mozzarella sticks were fine as the kid wouldn’t ok any other appetizer. I had the Cobb salad and it was really good. The kiddo got the cheese pizza, too much for her but we took the rest to go. She liked it but it wasn’t anything special. Canned sauce. The games were fun for an hour but not a large selection so not a place I would spend longer than that. Kid liked it so it was a win for an evening but will likely skip next trip.

Coming on a random Tuesday night, there was little competition for games. We had a great time playing skeeball for tickets, teaming up to blast a giant octopus, racing motorcycles through the virtual streets of Paris, and shooting up dinosaurs with bow and arrows (FYI: definitely not effective). All in all a great night for good olé family fun.

I had a good time! It has been years since I have been to an arcade. It was an eclectic mix of people. There were some young adults, teens, and young children. The children were running around, some with dollars safety pinned to their shirts? I did not try the food, so I can’t comment on that. My personal experience was pretty fun though! It was a good throw back to play some DDR, skee ball, and some new arcade games. The giant Connect Four was fun. It also was super fun winning the 1000 tickets on the giant spin wheel like they have on The Price is Right. I never win things like that! We rarely had to wait to play any games and if we did it was only one person. The best way to do the arcade would be to get a card so you can just swipe the card instead of buying more credits as you go. The card can also get you tokens to play the games that require tokens. One side has the games you can win tickets and the other side is all the driving/​shooting games that are just for the experience. Anyway, it was a Saturday but the prizes were disappointing and they were out of a lot of the prizes. I would go back because arcades are always fun, but maybe on a weekday when there are hopefully fewer children. I did have a few children run into me, but then again it is an arcade! Just set your expectations accordingly and it is really fun!

Never thought gameworks would have such good food. We tried the fettuccine Alfredo and taquitoes and they were really good. I added some broccoli and mushrooms to my pasta.

I really think this place is amazing a lot of games to play and a great place to take your family

Nothing really special here. The food isn’t great and the games aren’t great. They have a special for 14.99 you can get a meal and an hour of game time. Well looking back on the experience, it really isn’t that much of a deal. I went with my boyfriend and we both got that meal deal. But we were there at happy hour so all the appetizers were half off. Looking back we should got a couple of those instead of two meals… 50 dollars later, I regret it. If you are looking for a fun place for kids, I guess you might see more benefit in this restaurant than I do– I was just looking for a different night out which ended up being WAY more expensive than it was worth.

Video games and food place. What more is there to say. I guess the food looked ok but didn’t have any. They had beer on tap. They don’t take coins for the games, you must get a card and load it up with credits.

The food is not really the attraction to this place. It is generic bar food. This is place is very similar to Dave & Busters. At night time, this is the adult Chuckie Cheese. Some of the games are old school with some new school games. I do enjoy the skee ball machines! :) So if your looking for a place close to Downtown to get your arcade video game fix, this is one of those places to go!

Came here last Saturday night with some friends to celebrate a birthday. It was fine, as others have mentioned a few of the games were out of order and there are plenty of shooting and racing games.

A perfect date night includes dinner at Hofbrauhaus and pinball at Gameworks!
There’s a lot of good with a lot of bad at this place. We mainly go for pinball and for that, it’s very cheap. The games randomly give you free credits quite a bit so we can play a long time for 50 cents.
The bad… out of 5 pinball machines, only ²⁄₃ are ever in good working order at any one time. 1 is usually bad enough to completely screw up the game. Also, the lighting for this area is absolutely atrocious so the glare is really bad for seeing some of the board. And it’s an arcade. It’s loud with kids running rampant and you have to load money onto their cards rather than just bringing roles of quarters.
The good… it’s hard to find that many pinball machines in one spot. And some are really fun. The Family Guy one is always entertaining and the Sopranos machine is delightfully sleazy with strippers and beating up people! Also, on the weekends they stay open late and kick out kids at a certain hour. And there’s a bar, so it’s not a purely kid arcade.
I haven’t eaten here. Because why would I eat at an arcade? I can only imagine its not that good.

Please… don’t waste your time here. Unless of course you enjoy spending big $$$ on the lame stuff they have inside. What’s that? You want a real arcade experience for 10 $ all day long?
Go to Arcade Legacy in the old Forest Fair Mall food court. Thank me later.

As a general rule of thumb, arcades kinda suck.
I always hope that these places are better than they ever really are.
The token/​points system seems to be used to hide how much money you’re actually spending and they always go away much faster than you’d like. Nothing fun costs a single unit.
I’m always disappointed that there isn’t more of the fan favorites: one foosball table, one air hockey table, and four skeeball lanes (two with excessive damage) hardly cuts it. You’ll get more laughs at a Chuck-​e-​Cheese. You often have to wait for whatever you want to play to come available.
Service here is often slow and as expected, prizes require a plethora of tickets to purchase the cheapest crap imaginable.

This review won’t take long:
Thing one: Most, if not all of their food is frozen.
Thing two: Kids go psycho on candy and soda here and attack their parents for money, sometimes plowing into you. Don’t take it personal. They are on a mission, as we all probably once were at that age.
Thing three: Patrons here (at least when I went) were not here to have a few beers, but to get wasted. Lots of guys shouting obnoxious things and no one seemed to care but us, which was really weird.
Stopped here on a Saturday night while we waited for a table as a last resort and will probably never be back. This is just a one time experience, maybe it is different on a weekday afternoon. Hopefully…

Shame on Gameworks for letting this place fall apart. Went for my annual visit with my kids thanks to a $ 20 unlimited Groupon. Many games were not working. This place has become a pile of shooting and racing games packed with too many people/​kids. It was hard to find an open game. It needs a major overhaul. The same 2 House of the dead games are still there. They have gotten rid of most sports games (including my favorite bowling one) except for an old football, golf and boxing one. The pinball machines are the same ones that have been there for years. They are in crummy condition. Most of the same shooting games are still there; the fancier simulator games are gone. The basketball game only had 2 of 4 units operating.
Ticket games are expanding since that requires separate credits from the other games. They even took out the water fountains. The one bartender refused to give me a glass of water; said I had to go to the water fountain in the mall.
Sure you can go late at night and enjoy an only 21 crowd with overpriced food and crummy service. Their goal is to pack the place; not necessarily to provide entertainment. What good is a video arcade that is mostly full of people.

I like that Gameworks was open late because I was in town and didn’t know what to do. The games were over priced like all restaurants & arcade collaborations are. Although I had a lot of fun just goofing off, I have come to really hate claw games. Do you remember the days when claws actually grabbed items? Now a days all claws have weak grips and the damn thing shakes so much that your prize falls out before it reaches the hole. =(

Games? Prizes? Full Bar? NO KIDS!!!
This 21 and up Bar/​Restaurant is every inner child’s dream! I have been multiple times to this venue for parties and to add some creativity to my dating life. If you are not familiar with Gameworks, think Chucky Cheese meets Sports Bar. When you walk in you will have to purchase tokens, but since we are adults these tokens will come on your Gameworks Credit Card.
There is a restaurant available, but since there were better restaurants to try at Newport be didn’t eat there. My boyfriend and I got a $ 10 gift card and it lasted about 90 mins or about 100 zombies killed, one guitar hero set, some erratic race driving, and a couple pin pall games worth.
There is a full bar with club pricing on drinks, so be careful money will be burned exponentially to the amount of fun you are having.
Over all it was a blast to have the regression time and to also learn, that arcade wise, I am the better driver out of my boyfriend and I. Argument settled.

My daughter and I stopped in at Jax’s (in Gameworks) for a late lunch after seeing a show at the AMC theaters at Newport on the Levee. We waited patiently at the hostess stand near the door for several minutes, and when no one showed any interest in helping us, we simply seated ourselves. I should say that the restaurant was not at all busy, with maybe three other tables occupied. Our waiter came quickly when he saw that we had seated ourselves. Oddly, he had but one menu, and asked if we would like another (my daughter is fourteen). He retrieved one from the hostess stand, and took our drink orders. These came quickly, by which time we had both decided on the same thing: The BBQ bacon cheddar cheeseburger.
Wait time was reasonable. But when it arrived, the plate looked a little tired overall. It came with a single piece of lettuce, and two tomato slices that appeared to be past their prime. The slice of cheddar cheese was nicely melted, and tasty.
The meat was overworked, as it was very compacted, as well as under seasoned. They both arrived having been cooked to a medium temperature, exactly as we had ordered them. The bacon was undercooked, nowhere near crisp. My burger was almost devoid of BBQ sauce, my daughter’s was much better. There was a pile of undercooked onion straws on top of the bacon. They were a little on the greasy side, limp, and not too attractive. The most interesting thing of all was the bun. Both sides were nicely toasted on the grill, but it was chewy, like a pretzel bun. It wasn’t identified as anything unique, but it was. I really liked the taste and texture of the bun.
Accompanying the burger was a side of fries. Under seasoned like the burger, but very well cooked. They were crispy and light.
Overall, not a very positive experience. Other little things added to the «Don’t like» vote. The table was sticky, had to ask to have it wiped down again. My wooden chair was modern, but not too comfortable. It «wobbled». A wobbly chair is a sure sign of neglect concerning the little things. Also, tired plastic cups to drink from, and water spots all over the silverware. A very disappointing encounter for us both.
At $ 8.99 a burger, I felt this meal was very overpriced. $ 25.00 for two burgers (before tip) and this kind of experience? I don’t intend on going back. I understand the venue, but for not much more money, there are some excellent dining venues on the Levee. Next time, I’ll go to one of those.
