I desperately want to love it, menu is awesome, execution is not. Bartender especially the pretty brunette mother of 3(didn’t get her name) is awesome and worth stopping in. If they cook the menu right then 5 stars. Now 3stars.

This place is amazing ! I went in with a large group for brunch and everyone was beyond happy with their food. We got the eggs Benedict with tomato and prosciutto, chicken and waffles, avocado toast, brioche French toast, pork belly w biscuits and gravy, and farmhouse breakfast. A bunch of us got cocktails, they were great as well. I didn’t get to try out the fancy cocktails but when I make my way back to Newport I will definitely give those a try. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restrooms were clean. They have live music and reasonable prices and best of all clean simple good tasting food. Highly recommend.

The service here is fantastic and the food is delicious! There was a live Dj also. Good vibes good beer! I’d eat here again!

We randomly found lunch at hope and we’re delighted! The food was creative, delicious, beautifully plated, and the service was exceptional. Even the small touches of décor were great. I had a roasted beet salad and the flavors were unique and wonderful — pickled onions, leeks, radish…

This place LOOKS amazing so I had high expectations. My gf had the eggs Benedict and the eggs were terribly, disgustingly runny. We hate complaining about food but this was a new low. My egg bacon lettuce tomato sandwich looked promising, but my egg was just as runny. I pushed through it and ate it and proceeded to feel sick for the rest of the afternoon. The waitress was so friendly and accommodating, I felt terrible sending the food back but that’s not her fault, she did great. She should actually replace blue tipped hair girl at Boru and then that restaurant would be perfect. Shame I really wanted to like this place.

My friends and I went here for a 21st birthday this past week and the bartender was extremely rude. We were barely acknowledged and when we were he was anything but pleasant. We ordered some beers and he checked our ids, but when he took mine he looked at me funny and told me «I can’t take this» only after he passed it around to his buddies at the bar and made a joke out of it. My driver’s license is from out of state and like many other people I don’t have another form of id. I asked if he had an id scanner and he told me he would call the cops«if I was that confident in my id». With that being said I just left, because who in their right mind would want to sit at a bar after the cops had to come to check their id? So, we walked a few feet down and had drinks and food at pour judgement, where the staff was pleasant and eager to socialize with us. Would not recommend this place to anyone unless you like to be insulted openly by staff.

My husband and I went in for Brunch two weeks ago. My husband ordered the Jambalaya and grits and I ordered the Chicken and waffles. The Jambalaya was ok, nothing special. The chicken and waffles was disappointing. It is served sandwich style on soggy, thin waffles. The chicken appeared to be boneless thigh meat with spicy coating that did not pair well with the slaw slathered on the waffles. The restaurant is clean and bight. Service was ok. The place was empty and yet we stood in the entrance for a while before we were greeted by staff.

A group of us were at Hope for drinks on a Friday night. Sitting at the bar and we noticed the waitress comes behind the bar with two glasses of previously poured red wine. After a quick discussion with the bartender saying it was the wrong type of red wine, the bartender takes the glasses, picks up a funnel and pours both glasses of wine back into the bottle!!! GROSS! And put the bottle back on the shelf to serve to other customers… Yuk… We left right away. Makes you skeptical about everything else they serve. Does Unilocal have zero stars?

Service kinda sucked, my salad was spicy, took forever to get our food and the check, wait staff wasn’t exactly friendly, I asked for the simplest drink a cape coder and was asked what that was,

This place is terrific; I’ve been here 5 times since it opened for dinner and a few times for late night live music. I highly recommend it for dinner– I would be happy to order anything on the menu. Tonight we had Cobb salad, mussels, calamari, jumbalaya, and a chicken and waffle sandwhich. Come hungry– come often. Jazz/reggae music is starting up so I’ve gotta sign off! Enjoy, //Walt

Second visit with an amended and impressive menu. small plates were good. My entrée, duck confit lo mein was mushy– too much ‘sauce’. Most everything was way too salty. Even the only dessert choice. And this is coming from a salt addict. Still kinda noisy. Lousy playlist. Can’t figure out if this is a bar with good food something else.

Cool place. Lots of beers, live music. Seemed like a mix of locals + tourists. Would make a second trip to Hope.

Great Staff and great find! First I am only giving this four stars because we did not try the food. The drinks and the staff were fantastic. Peter was very nice, helpful and funny. Our bartender Cody was awesome! She mixed delightful strong drinks as well as created an awesome shot(that she should turn into a drink!) It was quiet upstairs(we went on an odd night and it is new). We could hear the live music playing from downstairs and they sounded like good entertainment. Will definitely be going back for drinks again when I am out in Newport. Would like to try the food as well!

Hope has finally opened up on Broadway in Newport, and though I have only been in for drinks so far I feel compelled to update with a quick review. Many of us locals had been waiting for this place to finally open its doors, since they have been renovating the location for months. All that time really paid off — the space is beautiful! I love the simplicity of the colors. The modern lighting fits perfectly. The tiled ceilings are high, and huge mirrors across from the bar make it seem even bigger. The bar is huge, which I love. It even has little USB ports at most seats for charging your phone. I believe that’s a first for bars in Newport. It feels nice and clean in here. I have yet to go downstairs; which features another small bar, high top tables, and space for live music/entertainment. I am happy to see the stairs have been moved to the front of the building, so there is no need to walk to the back of the restaurant to go down like in the last place here. Our drinks here were oh so delicious. One bartender even whipped us up a tasty little shot he was working on for the menu to sample. The cocktail menu was creative, and they had a stellar beer/wine/liquor selection. Service was absolutely fantastic, I really enjoyed engaging with the bartenders here. This gives me high hopes since tying down a solid staff seems to be difficult for new places in Newport. The food menu looked pretty dang good, and I can’t wait to try something on my next visit. You can bet I will be updating with another review after a few more visits.

A fantastic new restaurant in Newport. I had the steak and it was perfect(and I’m picky when it comes to steaks). My friend had the monk fish which was delectable. The fried oysters were delicious; you should try them. This place will soon become one of the best places in Newport.
