Inpopnito, Popcorn in Disguise

Delicious. I am looking forward to getting more on my next trip to Newport.

Although I’m SO not in the state of Rhode Island, I work for a company whose headquarter is located in Cranston, RI.
Last Friday we received a corporate gift. However, all the girls were too shy to be the first to open up the tie. Well, I was waiting for someone else to initiate the «popcorn sampling,» yet they really didn’t know what they were missing…
I know we Chicagoans have that legendary Gar*ett, Nuts on Cl*rk, and other local Mom And Pop shops that make great popcorn with wide, creative varieties. This «Inpopnito» shouldn’t have their identity concealed, period!
A large tin, though the volume was unknown, contained these three (3) flavor: sea-​sprayed caramel, butter, and Newport cheddar. I loved them all! The caramel was sweet without being overly cloying. I could taste a hint of sea, perhaps that Narragansett Bay nearby? Yes, I looked up the geography and I’m jealous of the oceans that are surrounded by «The little Rhody.»
Oh no, I didn’t mean to ignore «butter» and «Newport cheddar.» The butter was really buttery, and the cheddar just had the right amount of cheese.
However, they failed the «Chicago Mix» Test. When I mixed the cheddar and the caramel, they definitely didn’t have the «1+1…larger than 2» effect.
Anyway, sending free popcorn to reward us hard-​working employees is always appreciated! Inpopnito, I KNOW YOUR NAME!

Amazing flavors. Very friendly and helpful environment. Slightly pricey for popcorn.
We tried the cranberry, pretzels and ale, as well as the cheddar. All were hits.

I visited here after going to the seafood festival a few weeks ago and being a popcorn fanatic, I was in heaven!
There were so many flavors that it was a little overwhelming, but fortunately similar flavors were grouped together so that made it a little easier. The guy working behind the counter was willing to give samples of any of the flavors that I wanted to try.
As with any gourmet popcorn, it was a little pricey but that’s to be expected. After much deliberation, I walked out with the butter rum (which tasted just like the Life Savers that I used to love) and the sea salt caramel. I’m happy that this place is far away because otherwise I may never leave.

This place is AMAZING! I’m not usually one to go for super sweet stuff, but the popcorn here is outstanding! They have so many flavors and the owner told me that they only have about half of their flavors displayed and the rest were online. I’m here on travel with the Navy from Hawaii and he said they’ll ship out there too! When he found out I was in the Navy he «sweetened» the already awesome buy-​3-​get-​1-​free deal and threw in another bag. There are so many unique flavors here — sweet and savory! Check this place out. You’ll be really glad you did!

I’m all about creativity, and what a creative idea this place is. Located right in the middle of downtown Newport, Impopnito is a popcorn shop that serves tons of popcorn in interesting flavors that you’d never think of.
When you walk in you’re immediately surrounded by seemingly endless bags of popcorn. The employees will let you sample any of the bags via the sample bags behind the counter.
After sampling about five different flavors, I went with the «Jamaican me Crazy» flavor (for obvious reasons). It was absolutely delicious. They somehow managed to incorporate Jamaican spices into popcorn and nail it quite well. Based on this, I came back later for a few more bags.
This is a really creative idea, with quality to back it up. Few things sound better than walking around this awesome town with a bag of popcorn on a nice day. Definitely try this place a support creativity and quality.

This is the coolest little idea! Hal is charming and helpful and really just a nice guy. We bought tons of popcorn for ourselves and friends. And you can order online!

We stopped here after getting ice cream and it was one of the best decisions of our trip! The popcorn is AMAZING. They had a really good buy three, get one free deal, so we had to get four. We selected the strawberries and cream, Newport cheddar, Not for Lilliana and Carmel/​Cheddar. They are all such interesting flavors that you can’t get anywhere else. I will definitely order from their online shop!

Inpopnito is what would happen if Willy Wonka ran a popcorn factory right in the heart of Flavor Country.
it’s a wonderful little store with a friendly staff who are all too willing to ply you with free samples. and with a seemingly endless array of flavors — and notifications on which are free from various allergens — you’re bound to find something to bring home. those free samples work!
BBQ, bacon, cookies and cream, bubble gum, brownie, pizza, jalapeño, cheesy garlic bread, sea salt and caramel! rum caramel… the list goes on. oh snap, there’s even more that they sell online!
my favorite of the ones we sampled was Not For Lilliana, which blends caramel and hot sauce. FEEL THE BURN!
4 bags for $ 20 was a great investment, good to support a small business. it’s a niche craving but you’ll get hooked. throw that packet of Orville Rederbacher down the garbage chute, chuck that tin of stale month-​old popcorn you got as a gift from a lazy coworker/​relative, and get your hands on the good stuff from Inpopnito.
walking down Thames Street is great, you get to explore all the little shops and eateries, and we were glad to have stumbled in here.
and yes, they deliver!

Literally the largest selection of flavored popcorn I have ever seen. We bought a few bags that range from ranch to caramel cheddar to cheesy garlic bread. I wish there was one in NJ but so glad they ship! The staff was also super helpful and gave us samples of whatever we wanted! Def go!

My wife and I bought 6 bags of popcorn. Awesome selection… NY Unilocalers just like economy candy for popcorn… biggest selection of flavored popcorn I have ever seen…

Fun, wonderful specialty popcorn store off of Thames Street in Newport. I forget the owner’s name, but he was very nice and offered samples of all the flavors. There were some really unique flavors — cranberry, anyone? — and I am happy I stopped by. Oh, they have a website too.
