History

Established in 1979.

Built in 1855, the Inn has been operating as a lodging facility for over 100 years. For 80 years the property was used as a rectory for the Channing Memorial Church, located on historic Touro park. Two families lived in the house before it was converted into an Inn. The Americas Cup yachting teams often rented the house back in the 80’s as business picked up in Newport. We purchased the Inn 9 years ago and have since undertaken many extensive renovations to bring our guests modern amenities in an historical building.
