Mt Angel Sausage

1130am Friday morning, literally no one around. but the sign said OPEN and while we were looking at their exterior menu, a very curt and not friendly lady opened the window. she literally starred at us. we assumed we ordered from her, and we were right. two hot dogs and an elephant ear. she seriously did not smile, say thanks, or do anything other than take our money and hand us our food 8 minutes later. loud german music is blasting outside, which was the only weird positive.

This place is great. I’m not generally a fan of sausage, but the currywurst here is easily the best I’ve ever had. Granted, I’d never tried currywurst before I checked this place out, but that shouldn’t detract from how amazing delicious the food was. The smoothies are pretty top-​notch too.
The guy who runs this place is also pretty great. I’m not sure how he manages to stay in business with all the free samples he gives away (I was given three samples before I actually ordered something), but I won’t worry about the specifics. I’m definitely eating here if I ever find myself in Newport again.
The only downside here is the general lack of seating around the restaurant. I guess it’s a good thing the food is just as delicious regardless of whether or not you end up sitting. ;)

Great for kids and adults. This was the first review so I had to take the photos and post the business as well, but it was that good! Will be back.
