Omg… we came here Saturday, ⁶⁄₁₈) to celebrate our 11^th wedding anniversary. First time here. I am so glad we chose it! First off, our server was amazing, I think his name was Yovany. Nicest guy ever, and you can tell, really enjoys what he does. We each had a cup of clam chowder. Best chowder ever! Couldn’t decide on a single appetizer, so we got both the black cod ceviche and steamed clams. Both were soooo good! The seafood is fresher than any other restaurant I’ve eaten at. We both got The Crew Share, which is the fish and chips plate with the halibut, prawns, scallops, and oysters. I don’t like oysters, so they were so nice to switch them for a couple extra prawns. Everything was so awesome, and all the staff was so friendly with our 4 month old son that came with us. We’re visiting from Salem, and I will definitely make sure that when we want to come to the coast, it’ll be Newport so we make sure we come back here. It was a wonderful anniversary dinner! It deserves far more than the 5 stars allowed.

Don’t go here. Got served a rotten burger, or at least it tasted that way. He offered me replacement food and I refused. Wasn’t eating their food after that. He gave me a 10% credit and a free soda instead of just reversing the charge for the burger. Really, they charged me for bad food. Had they credited me for the food I did not eat, they would not have gotten the bad review. They could’ve charged me for the soda and not given me the $ 3.20 credit. Was $ 4 really worth it to these guys? Really? Don’t eat here.

I love this little place. Homey locals only feel inside and cute side patio. Decent prices and food was excellent. Great service too.

On the lunch menu the BBQ Albacore Tuna is amazing! I just wanted to order something unusual, and was absolutely delighted. My wife order the rockfish tacos and like those as well. Dungeness crab cocktail was really fresh and good.

We travel with our dogs so we look places that are dog friendly so decided to stop in and grab some dinner at Gino’s. We are sure glad we did! I Highly recommend the popcorn shrimp! They also had a pineapple cider which was actually really tasty.

Quick summary: Good variety and everything is locally caught. Clam chowder is excellent as is the popcorn shrimp. Grilled and fried options. Lunch prices are good for a touristy area! Divey décor, but awesome food! Service good! Definitely try!

Went here for late lunch. Menu offers a cool variety of fish and chips with all kinds of fish (including salmon and rockfish) and the chips are sliced potatoes that are crisp and tasty (not typical fries). All fried fish can be served grilled. They also have a good variety of other grilled fish and things like oysters, calamari, etc. The clam chowder was very good! Recommend the sourdough bread bowl and added shrimp on top. Popcorn shrimp had a unique batter and was the best tasting/​least greasy popcorn shrimp I’ve ever had. Coleslaw was a vinegar base instead of mayo and was good, although the guys I was with didn’t like it.
Made it a late lunch with the lunch menu (lasts until 4?) and we paid about $ 46 before tip for 4 entrees (no drinks, just water). Was full enough that we didn’t need to eat dinner that night. Though we didn’t drink they did have a drink menu.
It’s a bit of a dive, but it’s appropriate for a seaside and was clean. Seating for 2 – 6 is ideal. Probably could push tables together for a bigger group. Heard the hostess tell someone they take reservations for dinner only. Also seemed kid friendly.
Definitely recommend!

Not gonna lie, I think the clam chowder was better than Mo’s. My boyfriend said the Hawaiian burger was in the top five burgers he’s ever eaten. Staff was also very friendly and attentive.

Came to new port from Wyoming! All we’ve eaten is seafood the whole week but this stop was by far one of the freshest and tastiest! The black cod ceviche was outstanding! I know clam chowder is a preference to everyone, it seems, but I thought it was really good. Best I’ve had.

Brought mom & Dad here so mom could have some crab. ½ crab, we’ll prepared with rice and vegetables was only about 17 bucks. My halibut fish and chips was a generous portion and likewise delicious. Not greasy. Dad had the popcorn shrimp, which I expected to be unremarkable, but they were great! They really did manage to turn it into a signature dish. Recommended, and don’t be put off by the somewhat dive-​y exterior.

Loved the fact that I could sit outside with my dog. Also loved the friendly service and the fun décor! But my bowl of clam chowder was disappointing. Teeny little bits of clams and potatoes — and not very many of them — left me digging through the very thick, almost gelatinous, cream which was Alfredo sauce-​ish — didn’t really taste clammy at all. Sigh. The coleslaw I ordered on the side was just okay. I would definitely try it again if I lived in the area and order something else because the atmosphere is on point!

We ordered the Halibut Fish and chips for dinner for $ 16.99 and bowl of clam chowder and some garlic bread. My husband doesn’t like the fish and chips only ate some and the clam chowder tasted salty. It was a disappointment, won’t go back again

Dont go here. These people are not only rude but LIERS. The menu that is on their counter today 03−28−16 clearly says they are ooen until 9 PM. We even called to make sure they were open until 9 PM. We are on vacation and wasted a buch of time figuring out orders for kids as well as adults. We called in at 8:20 PM and the guy said they closed already, WHAT!
He said the times on the menu is outdated. There are at least 100 of the to go menus on thei counter that all say the same thing. Like I said we even called earlier and they confirmed they would be open until 9 PM.
This is bad business ethic. Dont go here!

I like their oysters! Really fresh! And popcorn shrimp is good especially the thin potatoes slice served with it. A nice local seafood place to try!

One of my favorites in Newport. The fish and chips are so light and don’t taste oil soaked. The chowder is good, lots of clams. The best thing about this place is the service!!! So friendly, fast and efficient. We have eaten here three times it so and its consistent. One if my favs!!!

Service for lunch very friendly and fast. Clean location and has a great vibe. Music was XM Coffeehouse and that fit the ambiance quite well. Ordered fish-​n-​chips and was not disappointed! Will come here again if I’m traveling through.

After leaving an establishment across the street due to rude service, my husband and I to have dinner here. Best choice ever! The staff was amazing and super friendly. Their crab cocktails are superb! Large chunks of crab meat over a great slaw mix. Very casual and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Wife had the Dungeness Crab, Shrimp and Cheese Dip and I enjoyed the Salmon and Chips dish. Service was pretty fast and very friendly. The food was fresh, tasty and plenty for 3 – 4 adults.
Can’t wait to go back !!!

We go here every single time we go to Newport, which is a couple of times a year. My son loves the popcorn shrimp. The popcorn shrimp kids meal with chips is a good deal. The fish tacos are excellent but you will want more than just two, so order some clam chowder or something to go with it! My husband ordered the rock fish sandwich and it looked so delicious I was jealous! He said it was one of the best sandwiches that he has ever had in his life. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves seafood.

Such a great place in Newport to take a break and grab something to eat. We have been here several times and the food has never disappointed us. We both started with the seafood stew and clam chowder plus fresh crab cocktail. Then onto our main dishes of Salmon and Crab Cake. Both were over wild race and steamed vegetables which were perfectly cooked. The salmon was excellent and the crab cakes, oh the crab cakes! They were amazing! Mostly crab and very little fillers. Oh and did I say all of this is fresh and just out of the shell. Amazing!
Service was excellent as usual. We were seated promptly and served right away, even with it being packed during the lunch hour.
I would highly recommend Gino’s when visiting Newport. You will not be disappointed.
