Great doctor! I was for implant installation. Job was done perfectly ! The thing I really liked that dr Mahoozi gave his phone number and said that I can call if any issues. I actually called once and immediately received help and advise. In general I would definitely recommend this doctor to everyone who need careful teeth work with great result.

I have always been very skeptical when it came to dental care, but I have sincerely never been so at ease and comfortable as I have been with Dr. Mahoozi. The care with which he approaches his work is that of a professional who is truly passionate about what he does. He is incredibly knowledgable, considerate of the patient, and comforting with his kindness and great sense of humor. And to top it all off, he’s a massive Manchester United fan… Pretty much the perfect package :)

Not only is Dr. Mahoozi a wonderful and talented Periodontist, but also a great human being. Dr. Mahoozi cares so much about the patients and would provide the best treatment for them. He also teaches at the Boston University and helps educate the next generation of dentists. I would highly recommend his office.

Dr Mahoozi is the BEST! At first, I was nervous, as he recommended my daughters gums to be cut to evaluate her fractures she sustained from a MVA. When I arrived for the appt with my daughter, his associate, Dr Mani was there. The two decided on a special type of CT to examine the fractures. We opted for that and so happy we did. Not only did it save her from cutting open her gums x3 teeth at 1200 a piece but the CT showed the fractures were in a place where it can accept a crown after a root canal. No Implant on all teeth was the best news in the world as I, for one, like to save the teeth. Dr Mahooze also told us that her bottom chipped tooth would also require a root canal. It wasn’t bothering her at the time and I wondered why it can’t just be covered with a bond, but I am no dentist, periodontist etc, so what do I know? i took her for a second opinion on that chipped tooth and that periodontist knew nothing that was told to us by Dr Mahoozi. Lux Dental, a periodontist (second opinion) told Nichole this «and as far as your chipped tooth, leave well enough alone. You don’t need a root canal. It’s not bothering you so just see your dentist» I asked, well doesn’t she need a root canal based on trauma? No was the answer. Guess What. Just as Dr Mahoozi told us from day 1, Nichole developed pain and needs the root canal. Dr Mahoozi told us I know she isn’t having pain now, but she will and she does need a root canal. This office is excellent, they know what they are talking about. The entire staff are phenomenal!!! Highly recommend this office!

I don’t think you can go wrong with Dr Mahoozi. He is very good and very professional. His office space is clean, modern and you don’t have to wait in it for too long. I had a bad experience at a periodontist in Somerville and went to Dr Mahoozi and it was so much better.
The first time I went to Dr. Mahoozi I had dental insurance but it was awful and did not cover any of the work I needed done. He gave me a discount on the work since I was paying out of pocket.
I went to him for a dental implant and everything is working out well. He referred me to a dentist in Brookline to finish the work and I look forward to it being done.

I went to Dr. Mahoozi for a dental implant after a failed root canal. Dr. Mahoozi is also a professor of General Dentistry at Boston University who came recommended by a former dentist /​student. He is one of the most experienced and competent professionals you can find who does dental implants. The staff is very nice and the practice is kind of a family business. His wife was working the front desk on my last trip and his father was there (not working the desk though) on one trip as well.
Prior to Dr. Mahoozi, I consulted with an endodontist who wanted to charge me around $ 1000 to poke around the failed root canal and possibly fix it. That was after having already spent $ 600 on the original root canal. With insurance, it costs around as much to get a root canal, have it fixed by a specialist, and get a new crown as it costs to just get a dental implant in the first place. So rather than pay the endodontist, I opted to just go with a dental implant.
Based on his experience, Dr. Mahoozi guessed that I had a cracked root, and he verified this was the case during the extraction. A cracked root wasn’t a possibility that the «specialist» even bothered to mention. If you have a cracked root, then the root canal cannot be fixed, and the tooth has to be extracted. But you have to pay the same fee to the endodontist regardless. So I would have entirely wasted my money at the endodontist and had to get an extraction followed by an implant or bridge anyway.
Dr. Mahoozi comes across as very competent and efficient at what he does. The staff are very friendly as well. If you need a root canal, I would recommend getting one from your general dentist first. But if the root canal has ANY issues, I wouldn’t bother with an endodontist, as the results are very uncertain and you are potentially just wasting your money. Dental implants, on the other hand, are a proven technology with a very high success rate. And when you have a competent periodondist like Dr. Mahoozi, you can’t go wrong.

I saw Dr. Mahoozi for an exatraction of a molar this past summer. I had an old crown/​root canal that went bad and there was an abcess. I was a nervous wreck when I went in, and also scared of the expense, but Dr. Mahoozi put me at ease and even worked out a payment plan with me. He told me all costs up front. He has an excellent «bedside manner» and makes himself available and easily accessible to his patients. I was even able to text message him when I was having some strange post-​op symptoms and he responded to me right away and called a prescription into my pharmacy that night. I was very impressed with the professionalism and cleanliness of his Newton office, and I would highly recommend him to anyone else needing extensive dental procedures.

Best of the Best — I came from Watertown to have my implant done & was very fortunate to have had Dr. Mohsen Mahoozi as my periodontist. He was patient and friendly with a very gentle touch. Dr. Mahoozi took his time to make sure the job was done thorough and perfection is best to describe his work. His team is also great! I would give Dr. Mahoozi 6 stars if I could — he is outstanding! Highly recommended for periodontal work.

Dr. Mahoozi is without question one of the best individuals I’ve encountered in the dental field both personally and professionally. I went in for gum surgery and two wisdom teeth pulled and heard horror stories from others who have had similar procedures. These people obviously did not go to Dr. Mahoozi. I had two choices the day I had surgery, help put up my office Christmas tree OR get gum surgery and I’m glad I got the surgery. He explains what needs to be done, very even-​handed, and asks at all times how things are going during the procedure. Was available by phone or email after for any questions and his office even followed up during the week to see how I was doing. He makes a trip to the dentists office seem like not such a painful experience both literally and figuratively. Highly, highly recommend.

Dr. Mahoozi turned a much dreaded procedure into a somewhat delightful experience.
The office was bright and relaxing with very high tech looking equipement. He explained what needed to be done and all my options beforehand. The grafting procedure went very smooth and much quicker than I had expected.
Rates we very reasonable compared to other doctors in the Cambridge/​Boston area.
