Great custom bootfitting experience. Would easily reccomend to others. I came in with my own gear purchased overseas and was treated as well as if I had just bought it on premises. They have a good selection of gear as well.

This is a must for your tennis needs. I have been part of the tennis industry since I was in diapers. I completed my tennis career after four years of playing division one tennis and have worked with thousands of different people within the tennis community. You cannot have a successful company with out a strong team to support it. In particular Avery Pesce has made the last year of working with BST such a pleasure; efficient, intelligent, and reliable. I’ve visited this store twice in the past year for skiing-​related services and have found both experiences to be very pleasant. I can’t speak to their tennis department, as I do not play. The manager Ryan is a really nice guy and willing to help you out with whatever needs you have; in my case, a binding remount and boot fitting. In terms of their equipment selection, it is very nice, albeit a bit expensive. What else would you expect in Newton? The price for both services I’ve received has been completely reasonable. Overall, highly recommended for the friendly staff and quick service– in an out in less than an hour for both of my visits. Don’t look for anywhere else close to the city!

I cannot speak to their ski expertise, but their tennis expertise is ok at best. For expert stringing at the same price I strongly recommend you go to the Tennis and Squash Shop in Belmont. They are true experts. You may think stringing isn’t a big deal, but when I brought my rackets to the Tennis and Squash shop, they showed me my racket was now an inch longer than normal because of the sub par string job.

Over the course of several years I have purchased tennis racquets, rented ski’s and purchased other sports paraphenali from BST.
In my quest for a new racquest recently they were my first stop. They were very nice and offered to comp me on the Tennis demo program (which I accepted) since they recognized me as a regular customer.
While they did not have availability of the racquet that I wanted to demo… they suggested in the meantime that i should demo a similar racquet and wait for my choice… which was to come in within hours,
After four attempts over two weeks to demo my preferred racquet and leaving my number I learned that there is no rational system for allocating demo’s.
The process was first come first served. So I visited them 4 times over two weeks with no success at demo-​ing my racquest choice.
If you want a demo… It’s either pure luck or camp-​out at BST 24/7…which is a little ridiculous to secure your demo racquet.
When I inquired today about their system, Ryan had no interest in satisfying his customer, no interest in questioning his flawed system and it is apparent by the condescending reaction that he had to my attempt at explaining what is clearly a poor customer experience… he had no interst in considering the constructive observation either.
So…they must be so successful that they don’t need those annoying creatures called customers. Hmmm… who lost here?

I have been a loyal customer for years and when they were located on the corner of beacon and centre street in Newton. Some of the younger staff are extraordinarily rude, they are condescending and have little understanding of customer service. I have bought at least 8 tennis racquets from them. The last two times each experience worse than the other. I tried to demo the racquets, they never had them in stuck, as soon as I picked one up, they would start calling daily to get it back, when I tried to use the deposit for the demo to purchase a new one they wouldn’t let me do it. In the past they would try to match on line prices, now no. Sorry but you will need to do a little education of your staff before I come back.

I just bought bought new skis and boots/​bindings from them, and I got great service across the board. I originally came in to have a tennis racket re-​strung, which they set up & priced for me right away, and it was ready just a day or two later. I’d also wanted to get my 4-​year old ski boots tuned, and they checked them on me and right away figured out the problem – they were much too big on me. Alex assessed my skiing ability and fitted me in a perfectly sized boot, and one that was right for my ability. I had been thinking about new skis, and had demo’d some styles earlier in the season during a vacation. He was very knowledgeable about the skis they carried. They didn’t carry any of the models I’d been interested in by Élan, but had several others. While I didn’t get a discount on the ski boots, they offered to take $ 100 off of the skis I bought, whenever I came back. 2 weeks later after doing some research, I decided on the Blizzard skis I wanted. As I walked into the store, Alex was heading out for lunch, recognized me, and turned around to help me order up my new skis and bindings. He brought them over the next day from his other store, and the bindings were mounted and ready 2 days later as promised. Their boots & skis were competitively priced with online models, and in my case, $ 100 less because I bought them here. Their stock was slim on accessories at this time of the year, so I had to buy gloves online. Their kids’ gloves were 20% higher than my online source, but I gave them the business anyway since their service was so expert & friendly. I’ll be back for tennis & ski gear year round!

We have done seasonal ski rentals there for 3 years as well as bought various ski clothing over the years. Good selection of ski clothing for kids and adults with competitive sale prices. And outstanding customer service; always friendly and willing to make it work for you. For example, my 11 year old had some pain with his rental boot due to a defect in the liner. They were out of used rentals in that size so Jason put him into a new boot no questions asked and adjusted the skis to fit the new boot.

This place saved the day for my 5 year old. We just got super disappointed with Centre Ski and Bike by not being able to get our seasonal ski rentals for THE WHOLE 10 DAYS!!! And that’s on top of a $ 100 deposit required to be held for the entire season. Really??? Huge thanks, Boston Ski + Tennis, for skillfully fitting our boots and for being so reasonable, professional and friendly. For having a great modern and spacious store. For having equipment that doesn’t look like it’s been around since my parents went skiing. And for making my 5 year old the happiest kid in town. Highly recommend this place.

We had their new ski truck come to our house and our kids were fitted for their ski & boot rentals right here in our driveway! It was so convenient. We picked the time and day and we were done within a half hour and had our whole family had their rentals in hand. And let’s not forget how nice and knowledgeable the guy working the truck was! If you your schedule is jammed and you can’t get everyone to the store at the same time — have the truck come to you!

We are a big ski family and this is our go-​to place for ski gear. Their prices are great and I have found the staff to be very knowledgeable and friendly. They have great prices on season rentals for the kids — and the equipment is basically brand new.
For the advanced skier, this is one of the few ski shops in the area that actually has trained boot fitters that can custom fit your boots — and they do a first rate job tuning skis.
The only cons are it can get a bit crowded during weekend mornings and the parking lot is tight, but if you go during the week or weekend afternoon it’s not a problem. Think they also have a store in Westborough.

I don’t think they can control how busy the street is. Unless they own Newton and I don’t realize it.
This place is awesome. I use it mainly for tennis stuff but the guys know their stuff in and out and I’ve used them for years when they used to be on Comm Ave and Centre Street in Newton.
The owner, Paul is fantastic, and all of his employees go out of their way to be helpful and answer any questions you might have.
I will never go anywhere else to get my racquets strung, oftentimes their turnaround time is next day, which is phenomenally efficient. Most places say 2 – 3 days as a standard.
If you play tennis, go here!

These guys were awesome. In particular Tom. I was shopping for bindings for a new pair of skis I picked up online so I decided to give them a call. Tom took ten minutes to run down all the bindings they had that fit my skis, the advantages and prices. I decided to head in since everything was 30% off. I bought a pair of Marker Squire bindings for $ 135 and got my girlfriend’s skis sharpened for $ 30. They even waived the $ 30 fee to mount the bindings. All that and they turned them both around the next day. I’ll definitely go back.

I like the fact that there are alternatives to the corporate chains that litter the Boston/​Greater Boston landscape, but if you want to be a viable option in this town you’ve got offer something better than sub-​par choices for your customers. Yes, they carry Marmot and UnderArmour, but this is not exactly quality gear for the outdoor enthusiasts. Maybe it’s part of the manufacturers’ respective B-​lines and not their top tier products that these companies produce, but this is apparel you wear to the gym to look cute, or run outside with in the warmer weather. It’s the type of clothing you spend way too much money to sweat in, stroll your little ones around in their Maclaren in, and signal to your friends that the recession has not hit your budget at all. Bottom line, if you’re thinking of heading out of town to catch a deal, think otherwise. For the same price and equal to better quality shop Newbury — there I said it.
I noticed that they had some ski equipment as well, but nothing stood out to me as being all that wonderful or affordable, and with regard to overall product knowledge, I was left with the impression that this was «just a job» to the employees that I interacted with. I’d have been better served doing my own research and shopping online.

What a great shop! Got new skis for Christmas and was looking for someone who would be able to put bindings on them. Every one in the shop was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They were able to not only put new bindings on my skis, but also tune and sharpen my old skis in less than an hour. Fantastic Service!

I got my skis tuned last spring and they did a fantastic job! I came back this fall and bought new skis because I had such a great experience.
The staff is knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. They remembered me from my one previous visit and made a great recommendation. I’ll keep going back as long as Avery is working there!

I don’t rate a business in Boston on parking…
I got there as they opened this morning and found them to be very helpful. It was not busy, and I was able to pick up my racquet fully strung and with a grip made larger for my hand just 4 hours later.

This place is a nightmare. I joined Unilocal specifically so that I could review the horrid service I received this place.
I initially attempted to go for a seasonal ski rental yesterday, but there were no spots available in the parking lot. I looped around the busy road and drove by the store again with no luck. Because I had heard that the service here was excellent, I decided to try again today, and got there as soon as they opened. I did get a parking spot this early, but had to wait inside for help.
It turns out they did not have my size boot for seasonal rental, but told me that if I chose to buy boots, then I could still rent skis and poles. Not ready to commit, I told them I wanted to shop around, but I would come back if I couldn’t find a rental.
As it turns out, my foot size is very popular. I tried three other stores in the greater boston area that did not have my size to rent. Resigned to buying boots, I drove all the way back to their store, down the busy road, fought through the packed and snow-​covered parking lot to make good my word to give them my business. After waiting again for help, I was told by the salesperson that they had leased out their adult skis weeks ago.
I don’t know if the initial person who told me I could rent skis a was living under a rock or what, but I do NOT recommend this place if you want a pleasant or straight-​forward buying experience.

First, it is a super busy road and their parking is limited. Bring a small car if you have one. Pulling out was not easy from the side lot! They are very busy inside. I had 4 different people help me as they were being torn in separate directions. We called ahead and confirmed the price and time for mounting. I get there and they say 3 days. I told the guy we were told on the phone we needed them for tonight as we were promised on the phone. He went and checked and gave that to me. The price was also $ 20 more than what were were quoted — realized after the receipt was printed. Had to go back to get a refund, which they gave, but do it right in the first place!
