Truly the best buffalo wings in Boston! Great salads, tips and cold bottled beer! Excellent spot to watch a game… but get there early!

Amazing buffalo wings. I wouldn’t order them anywhere else because in spoiled by buffs. I like the laid back vibe too

Thank you fellow Unilocalers for recommending Buff’s! My boyfriend and I were in the Boston area and were craving wings(okay, I was). Although Buff’s wasn’t the closest to our hotel, the reviews were so great we had to check it out. Immediately upon entering, we knew this place was awesome when the smell of buffalo sauce hit our noses. The place was packed on a Monday night also. We were able to snag seats at the bar and ordered one dozen buffalo and another dozen garlic cheese sriracha which were AMAZING. My boyfriend and I were fighting over them. As other reviews mentioned, it is cash only. I would definitely recommend checking them out if you are in the Boston area.

Either I’m the odd one out or someone in the kitchen was having a bad night. I was bouncing off the walls when my wife told me she ordered wings from Buff’s for take-out. I’ve heard of them before! Supposedly they have the best wings in MA. About 20 minutes later I bite into a wing and taste sever disappointment. Is it crispy on the outside? No. Are the flavors anything special? No. What about the side order of fries? Surely they couldn’t have messed that up. Wait, have these fries been microwaved? But at least they got the bleu cheese and celery right.

Gster and I hadn’t had a date night in a while… so it seemed appropriate to have our next date night the day after Thanksgiving… because stuffing ourselves on turkey day is obviously not sufficient enough. We came up with a few ideas, and just kind of stumbled into Buff’s. What confuses me, is that when I brought it up to Gster he said… «this place is KNOWN for their chicken wings…» and he loves chicken wings… so I thought going there would make him happy. After going to the ATM(right next door, because it is cash only), we sat down and ordered some drinks. Gster ordered the french onion soup and some sandwich, while I ordered mac n cheese. After about 5 minutes Gster looks at one of the specials and goes… «oh dang… I should have ordered the wings». Thus, he forgot to order the one thing that we had gone there for. Both are meals were terrific, and it was rather exceptional bar food. However, we do need to go back to try the buffalo wings. I continued to shake my head at Gster for the rest of the night. How do you go to a place known for wings and forget to order them?

Well, I tried Buff’s wings last night. I would like to be able to report that they lived up to the hype but I can’t because they didn’t. In fact, they were horrible. I called in the order as I left the office and told them I would pick them up in 30 minutes(so that they could time them to be fresh when I arrived). Traffic was very light and I actually arrived in a little under 20 minutes. Given the ETA I’d provided, I expected a wait since they should have been just about to throw them into the fryer. Nope. They were sitting there on the shelf already. Not a good omen, but maybe they came out just before I walked through the door. Nope. I pay and they hand them to me. The inside of the bag is dripping with cold condensed ex-steam. They’ve obviously been sitting there for a while. Seven minutes later, I arrive home and take the containers of lukewarm wings out of the bag. Temperature issues notwithstanding, my expectations are high. I try a wing from one container, then the other. The Grinch has stolen Christmas. The wings themselves were dry, tough and very overcooked. The only good things I can say about them is that they were of decent size and not the soggy breaded kind. I’d ordered batches of their two most popular flavors based on the reviews: Honey Hot and Buffalo Medium. I literally could not tell them apart. They were slightly different colors but not distinctive enough to tell which was meant to be which. They tasted pretty much the same: a flavor I can only describe as «vague with a hint of heat.» Had they been swamped, I ‘d be inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. But they weren’t. It was a relatively quiet Monday night around 9:00pm. There were no throngs of hungry people demanding service. Most of the tables were occupied but that isn’t saying much because there are only a few tables. Maybe they were just having an off day but my overall impression was that they just don’t give a **** and are coasting on a reputation no longer deserved.

Arguably the best wings you can find around Boston. If this pub were a little more accessible, there’d be a line out the door. I used to come here a lot when I lived around here. It’s been 3 years and the owner still recognized me! The service here is pretty darn good too. They always check-in to make sure everything’s going smoothly. Make sure you check out Buff’s! Tips: –The key is to come in a small group of 3 – 4 people for 2 key reasons: 1)Variety!!! Yes, honey hot is delicious but adding buffalo and honey bbq makes your experience even better 2) There aren’t too many tables designed for large groups –Cash only!!! Luckily you have a Bank of America next door –All the parking is metered so bring some quarters! Plenty of parking in the back lot too.

Very, very good wings. Definitely a hole in the wall type place, not there for the atmosphere but the buff’s wing sauce is fantastic. Makes me want to go back reminiscing to how good they were. Service was alright, it was empty and the bartender was not especially friendly, but that can be set aside because the food is worth it. Not a date type place at all though unless you’ve been together and just want good wings and don’t care about impressing. I’ll be back for sure!

This place is dangerously close to my work. I’ve only tried their clam chowder and the turkey chili with nachos. Both amazing. The clam chowder is the creamiest thing you’ll ever have and the turkey chili is on point. Both will make you super full. I tried their honey hot boneless chicken and the sauce was so good. They know how to cook chicken here! I wanted wings, but figured that might take awhile. Service is a little slow whenever I come here. Cash only. And they charge for take out boxes… Kind of ridiculous. I’ll definitely come back since its delicious, but I’m limited on time for lunch so I don’t have the whole time to wait for them to cook it and then rush eat it at the end.

Great food! The lobster mac n cheese is amazing and the wings are epic! My only challenge with it is the fact they only take cash but that’s not huge… as long as you know. I asked for take-out as I was staying in the Crowne Plaza hotel across the street and wanted to relax in my hotel room before an early flight the next morning. They had the entire order prepped and ready in about 10 minutes and the service was very friendly.

Hands down, the best wings I have ever had. Although the service was a little slow, Buff’s Pub is unbelievable. There are many beers on tap, and many TVs to watch if you are there for a game. WATCHOUT, ITISCASHONLY. With that being said, there is a Bank of America right next door. You can bring the kids to sit down and eat or you can sit at the bar with friends. Usually it is busy, but you are able to stand by the bar, and people are shuffling in and out.

I rarely rate places 5 stars but this was really excellent. Buff’s is a really small place, but it’s got a lot of character and most importantly, some incredible food. We got there around 7:30 on a Thursday night, so we were told it’d be about a 40 – 50 min wait. We were 100% okay with that because we’ve been waiting months to try this place. Finally, once seated, our server came over to us immediately and she was beyond helpful throughout the night despite the crowded bar and small restaurant. We started with a half plate of the Nachos Grande, which were excellent. Lots of cheese and chili, and the chili was delicious. Then we ordered 40 wings. Flavors = hot buffalo(which i actually don’t think were spicy, so we will have to try the hottest level next time…), honey hot, honey bbq, and garlic parmesean sriracha(totally underwhelming). We weren’t a huge fan of the garlic parmesean sriracha but they certainly weren’t bad. The wings were cooked to perfection and all of the wings were sauced up nicely. The one and only complaint I have about this place is that they wont change the flavor for under 10 wings. I guess that’s a good business tactic to get people like my boyfriend and I who were desperate to try 4 flavors(we did NOT finish 40 wings…) We will certainly be back and looking forward to trying a couple more flavors of wings and some more food on the menu.

I came to watch the Pats game. Getting in by 12:30 is key to getting a good seat. Got 20 wings of the spicy BBQ and it was quite tasty. The wings have good amount of meat on them and the sauce was a good mix of sweet BBQ and spicy. Also lasted me through the first quarter while the kitchen got slammed with orders. Bar staff was friendly and will chat with you about the game if there’s a lull. It is cash only, but there’s a Bank of America right next door.

Came here today and have to say it was very good. We got the wings and the spicy chicken sandwich. The wings were why I came and was not disappointed. They were large, crispy, and delicious in the medium buffalo sauce. They big surprise was how great the spicy chicken was. The habenaro and other spices they coat it with was really tasty! The chicken was juicy and it was a huge sandwich. Traveled a little bit to get here but I’m definately coming back for more! Great menu.

I’m currently still sitting in the booth at Buffs because I just couldn’t wait to tell the rest of you how amazing these medium buffalo wings are. They’re phenomenal. I’m talking waking up and realizing it’s Christmas morning phenomenal. Or Heath Ledger in the role of The Joker phenomenal. Or maybe sitting here listening to some Pink Floyd while eating the best wings I’ve ever had phenomenal. I should also mention I had an order of honey bbq wings as well. They were also very good, but if I could do it again I would get double the amount of buffalo wings. It’s in a small pub so I can imagine it gets busy during meal times, but I wouldn’t even care. I’m sure that tends to happen when you serve wings of that quality.

Dare I say, the best chicken wings in Massachusetts? PROS: The wings. Different sauces, bone or bone less. Cooked to perfection. Meaty and yummy. CONS: Cash only. Sometimes hard to get waitstaff attention. The place is tiny. Not much seating. Always busy around lunch and happy hour. OVERALL: Go for the wings. Bring cash. Pick a less busy time, you’ll be happier.

Let me start off the review by saying this: Buff’s Pub has, without a doubt, the best chicken wings I’ve ever eaten. The medium has a good flavor, and the hot, while maintaining a delicious flavor, is appropriately spicy. Not only are the wings good, but the nachos(Nachos Grande) are phenomenal, and their burgers and sandwiches are similarly great. The staff are extremely friendly and are quick to wait on you, and often check up to make sure everything is to your satisfaction. They also get to know regulars — I’ve been there dozens of times, and at this point they just look at me and already know what I want. The food comes out in a timely manner, which is even more impressive on game days when the place is absolutely packed. The place itself is pretty small, but it’s a pub/bar; what else would you expect? Aside from the size(and noise on game days, but again, what would you expect?) I can’t think of a single bad experience I’ve had or bad thing about it(well, aside from changing the fries up; they aren’t as crispy now as they used to be and have a slightly different taste to them, but they’re still good). Overall, I would highly, highly recommend Buff’s Pub, and they have certainly made a regular of me!

Great hot honey wings but caution: they are only mild hot and pretty sweet. Best to have these sweet wings with others. If you like hot, get the buffalo really hot ones. They have got the wing cooking mastered. I don’t think I’ve ever had them cooked more perfect. They have tenders for those who don’t «like bones» too. Can’t comment on burgers or sandwiches. Next trip perhaps. Cool small bar, small selection of beers but all good ones. Check it out. If you want a table, plant to arrive early. If you’re by yourself you can get a seat at the bar with a short wait.

So an update based on my Buff’s visit today: Turkey chili with nachos is BOSS on a cold day like today. YUM. Hit the spot and now I need a nap. Also, the sweet potato fries are deeeeelish. Makes me appreciate the tuber a bit more than I used to. And the sauce that comes with the sweet potato fries… I don’t know what’s in it, but damn it’s good. Keep it up, ya’ll. :)
