Serendipity Skin Care and Waxing

Before moving out of state I used to see Gina monthly for a wax and facial, she is simply the best and I miss her all the time! She is so friendly and gives the most pain free wax I have ever had!

Update: I’ve started seeing Gina for bikini waxes, too. She does a great job — minimal pain and just the right amount of chitchat to keep you distracted. Still highly recommended!

I never made skin care a priority until my boss refereed me to Gina. I was hooked. I had a facial, then more facials… I’m definitely hooked! Gina is the owner, she is so sweet. You can tell off the bat how much she loves her profession. I appreciate that. The place has very calm and relaxing energy. After a long day it’s just fantastic, she puts a lot into the facial. She does a bit of massage, a mask, cleaning, extraction, time to sit with the mask (Ive almost fallen asleep within 2 min). She tells you affordable ways to take care of your skin. She’s so busy but you never feel rushed or that she is stressed. I can’t say enough positive things about my experiences here. I look forward to going back. I heard her Brazilian Wax is the best, so I’m tempted to try that as well!

I have not had the pleasure of using Serendipity/​Gina, but I recently contacted her for a last minute appointment and, even knowing that I was from out-​of-​town (unlikely to be a repeat client) she promptly returned my message to inform me that she is closed for the holiday weekend, rather than leave me hanging.
THAT is excellent customer service! If I’m ever in Boston needing her services again you can bet that I will do business here, as well as referring my local friends and family!!!

I had a facial with Gina last week and I couldn’t be happier! The massage was amazing and the extraction was gentle and painless. I love that Gina uses gentle organic products with no harsh chemicals. She made some great recommendations for my skincare routine which I’ve incorporated. Not only was my skin glowing after my facial, but I never had any redness, dryness or tenderness which I usually have the days following a facial. Looking forward to my next appointment!

Gina is literally the best.
I actually found her because of Unilocal and noticed she ONLY had 5 star ratings, so figured I should give it a shot since I was looking for a good and reliable place to get a Brazilian wax. She is nice, super knowledgeable and professional. Also, I agree with other Unilocalers that this was one of the least painful waxes I’ve had.
Then, I started going to her for facials and have seen a huge difference. I am probably the hardest on myself on my skin, but have gotten a lot of compliments from friends and strangers on how clear and vibrant my skin is. So, I would recommend getting one of those too.
Lastly, her hours are great! She has late hours for those who may work late. She’s so good that I make the trek from Back Bay to see her because she is better than every single spa I’ve been to in Boston.

Gina is awesome! I had a wax already scheduled for the Friday before I left for my wedding. When that appt was cancelled, I contacted Gina and she fit me in during my lunch, as a first time client with her! As if that wasn’t awesome enough, it was hands down the least painful wax I’ve ever gotten. She makes you feel so comfortable. I can’t recommend her enough.

Gina is super nice, made me feel comfortable, and explained everything step-​by-​step on the phone in advance. I highly recommend her services and I look forward to returning!

I left a message to make a same day appt and she called me right back to schedule. Gina was great she was quick and efficient. I was so happy with how minimal the pain was was. I love the organic wax and ingredients she uses. Her prices are reasonable as well and she’s very nice and makes you feel comfortable. Clean & professional environment too!

Excellent. As good as everyone has before me said. She is very sweet and does the best waxing ever. Would recommend her anytime. Her services are outstanding. And she makes many of her products that are completely all natural.

There are already so many great reviews on this place and Gina but I HAVE to add another one! Gina is AWESOME! I went there as a first time client and she could not have made the experience any better. She was quick, efficient, calming, and very sweet. Her prices are average from what I’ve seen and believe me, she is well worth every penny.
For something that could have been SO painful (during and after) she made it as painless as possible with minimal discomfort (I mean, you are ripping your hairs out from the root but I can imagine it could have been a lot worse…). She also uses organic wax that only pulls your hair and not your skin so the pain subsides very quickly.
I always research things too much and I did a lot of that before finding Gina at Serendipity and if you are someone who is on here trying to find the best place to go for all of your waxing needs, look no further. Go see Gina!

Gina is fantastic. I’m not sure why I am bothering to write a review as I doubt I will have anything to add that hasn’t already been said, but I could not be more happy. I have been looking for a wax place for a while and have had disappointment after disappointment.
This was my first time here. I get a Brazilian and that has to be the most painless wax ever. I was skeptical after I read the reviews; however, Gina is incredible. It was fast, clean, and yes, nearly painless. There were moments I didn’t even know she did anything. I left with no redness or tenderness. I will also add that while people always say hard wax is less painful than hot wax, I have had people use hard wax and it was still awful, and red for a week after. So as I said, I don’t know what Gina does, but it could not be better.
I am also very picky with my eyebrows. People always seem to over wax or make them uneven. Again, Gina is great, careful, and takes her time.
I have never had a pro facial so I don’t have a lot to compare it to, however I absolutely loved my facial with Gina. It was one of the most relaxing experiences I have ever had. I also don’t like harsh products and everything used is natural and feels amazing. When I left, my skin looked absolutely amazing. I was not red, my skin glowed, and any issues I was having before I came in were gone when she finished. I cannot wait for another.
Finally, and as everyone has said, Gina is likely one of the nicest people I have ever met. She runs an all around amazing business.
I will note that when I first tried to make an apt she was booked, and as I was going on vacation, I really needed a wax. Gina rents space to another women who does waxes so I was put in contact with her. I had an awful experience with that women. I am not going to go into it, but I hated everything about it. However, the businesses are entirely unrelated– they only work out of the same building, so don’t worry when going to serendipity. I only added this to tell people that if they are in the same time snag, just wait for Gina and book early!!!
I’m so glad I found this place! I’m booked for my next appointment, and unless she closes I can’t imagine ever needing a new spa!!!

I love Gina’s facials. She’s super friendly and knowledgeable about what she does. I really like the fact that she uses all natural and organic products, and gives great advice about skincare. Very relaxing experience each time I visit, and I always leave with my skin glowing!!!
What a gem!!!

I booked a facial here for my Mom as a birthday present. After looking all over the Internet for a good (and relatively affordable) facial in the Brookline/​Newton area, I came across Serendipity. After seeing the price ($ 65 I think), I obviously had to book one for myself as well. My mom and I were both so relaxed after our facials. I think mine ran a little short, which is fine. I could have stayed in that heated bed forever…
Gina also gave me some great tips for my skin. Overall, a great experience, and I’ll be back!

By far the best Brazilian I have ever had! Definitely the most painless waxing I have ever had. Gina is friendly and laid back making the overall experience an enjoyable one. I have recommended Gina to all of my friends in and around Boston. Last week my friend, who lives in Albany and had an awful waxing experience there, drove down to be waxed by Gina-​prior to her wedding. She was elated with the results, she also had her brows done and was pleased with those results as well. I HIGHLY recommend coming here for any waxing you need done. I will be going back to have a facial with Gina as well!

This was only my second time getting a Brazilian and the first was with strips & wax. HORRIBLE IDEA. This wax was the hardening kind and was SO MUCH less painful. The atmosphere is very nice, very spa like, not like a typical wax room! It was quick, painless and Gina was great and very friendly! I would definitely recommend it here and will without a doubt go back!

Best and most painless Brazilian wax ever. I’ll never Brazilian anywhere else again and never shave again if I can help it. Had my first Brazilian somewhere else some time ago and it was excruciatingly painful and horrible; I saw stars. Swore I’d never do it again. Then I read reviews about Serendipity and figured I’d give it one more chance. There are no words to describe the difference between my first experience (again, done elsewhere) and that with Gina /​Serendipity. I can honestly say today was painless. Absolutely painless. A lip wax is more painful. I am amazed. Oh, and after my first horrible-​experience-​done-​elsewhere I was swollen and uncomfortable for days following. I could run a marathon right now. Kid you not. If Gina ever moves I will either drive further or sob uncontrollably. I will recommend Gina to all of my friends in this area. Already have.

Gina is wonderful, she is friendly and great to talk to, helps keep you distracted while she is doing what she is doing. She did a fantastic job, I am very happy with the results and will keep going to her.

Without a doubt, Serendipity is one of my most well-​deserved five star reviews. After an entire morning of paralyzing fear because today was «wax day,» Serendipity completely surprised & amazed me, and changed my entire attitude on my least favorite «beauty treatment.» Whether it’s a bikini or a brazilian, I am usually fighting back the screams, tears, and cursing. This was the most seamless, painless wax of my life x’s 1,000. I really can’t say enough good things. Gina was downright awesome; informative, friendly, and professional! She is truly an expert in her field. The quality of the wax is better than any place I’ve been, and I’ve been to quite a few high-​end «fancy» spas. Her recipe which includes soothing chamomile really makes a difference. This is a very convenient location and prices are more than reasonable. I am SOO happy to have discovered Serendipity thanks to my fellow Unilocalers… I will be back!!!
