Toyota World of Newton

Not recommended. Do not trust them. Went here for frame replacement. They wanted to replace the Battery. Alternator. Master cylinder. Transmission. Etc.
I paid for battery. Alternator. Muffler. Power steering. Then the air conditioner did not work they refused to take responsibility. They wanted me to pay for it too.
Finally after 6 weeks and various excuses they agreed to look at it. OH, they said they forgot to fill it initially. (Humm they initially told me they have quality standards and it could never go out with out testing and confirming it was working). Now everything will be fine they told me. I picked it up and 3 weeks later the AC was not working again. Now they wanted me to pay for replacing the condenser and compressor. Three people including the Service manager and general manager Steve Partineo gave me quotes from $ 1500 to $ 5305. Ha ha. Ha!
When I dropped it off all systems were working fine. After sitting 6 months in the parking lot and pulling everything off the frame and re attaching it now they wanted me to pay them to replace them.
That is all I had enough. Many people have told me bad things about this dealer I was going to try them anyhow. Regret!

Steve you have my number call me to resolve. I still have the message stating your mechanic forgot to re charge the system and there were no leaks. No lubrication caused the failure you want me to pay for now?

This review is solely about the Service team; I have dealt with several team members in the past year and a half and they are warm, courteous, accommodating and cheerful. It has been the best experience I have had with any dealership and I highly recommend them!

All I can say is, it took me less time to buy a car (one afternoon) than to buy a bike (five months and counting). John Mayo was highly knowledgable and very efficient in taking us out on test drives and helping us focus in on the car that we ultimately took home (which wasn’t the car we initially thought we would get, but we absolutely made the right choice). I was so dreading this process, but came out of it pleasantly surprised and satisfied. Thank you, John, and Toyota World! One more reason to love Newton!

I saw a truck on Cars
from this dealership and was willing to pay that price for it and drive 200 miles to pick it up. When i spoke with the internet salesman he said that price was only for «past customers» and wanted 1K more. How many past customers by their cars on the internet?

BEWARE! RIPOFF!!! Service department is a joke! I just moved int the area. Found them online. Made an appointment a week in advance for a Sat 7am appointment. Dropped my Tundra off the night before. Call me at 3:30 to tell me they need more time to diagnose the problem. Yeah right. They were supposed to look at it first thing in the morning. Which they didn’t. Then they tell me it’s going to be several thousands of dollars to fix my front end. They didn’t look at the other reasons why I brought the truck in. They have the gall to put we help veterans. Well guess what? They screwed this veteran over. Never again.

«Hang on to your wallet» and «The Shell Game» should be the slogans of their sales events at Toyota World of Newton. They have taken the art of being sleazy car salesmen to a whole other level. Being that this was my second car purchase at the dealership, I thought I would be afforded a bit more respect. I was terribly mistaken. I have negotiated many car purchases over the years and I am appalled at the lack of scruples and blatant dishonesty exhibited in my sales transaction.
After receiving a flier in the mail, I decided to visit the dealership to see if I could trade in my truck on a Corolla. My wife and I negotiated for a while and agreed that they would pay off the balance of the truck while reducing the new vehicle price by $ 1800 and including GAP insurance. While waiting for the paperwork, they notified me that the car they were selling me had already been sold, and that the only vehicles available were more expensive. I asked that they split the difference on the other Corolla and they agreed. However, they never honored their agreement.
As I sat down to crunch the numbers I noticed there was a large discrepancy with their calculations. I asked them about it and the shuffle began. I told them that they were being dishonest. They made several excuses and reluctantly changed the payment to reflect the proper amount.
At 9 pm, our salesman alerted us that there was a backlog in processing financing and it would be another hour before we would get our paperwork. At 10, they informed us that we would have to come back in the morning due to computer problems. The process had taken five hours. We were able to drive the car home, due to the fact that we had already surrendered the Highlander. I was uneasy about this. Something did not sit right.
We came back the next day and were told that we would again have to wait for the finance manager to arrive. Over an hour later, we were escorted into the finance office where the shell game continued. They had taken the $ 2500 equity in our extended warranty on the trade and applied it to the cost of the car. They built in my equity and pocketed the difference. They eventually did get the extra money they originally were going to take from me. The loan amount was never reduced. I essentially paid $ 2500 towards my own trade in and paid full price for the Corolla even though we had negotiated otherwise. Caveat Emptor… buyer beware!
Needless to say, the dishonesty did not go unnoticed. I was happy to pay the difference to extract myself from that situation; knowing quite well; that I will never, and I repeat never buy a vehicle from Toyota World of Newton again. Consequently, I had been searching for lease vehicles for my business and was going to give them a chance to bid, but that won’t happen. They lost a significant deal.
The sad lesson is this; if you want to get ripped off, buy a car from their dealership. They could have acted honestly and with dignity but hey chose not to, and for that, I will never buy a car there again. Read all the reviews at Unilocal.Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

We bought from them and got serviced from them for years! Bought a minivan in June and couldn’t figure out why my credit rating went so far down afterwards but didn’t think to pull my credit. My husband went to turn in our leased pickup and purchase one and he was charged every fee, special service and plan they could find. Fine, his fault for being talked into it for 5 hours. Then we find his credit went from the 700’s to 540 when we tried to get a ore approval for mortgage. Turns out they ran his credit a total of TWELVE times! 11 of which were Toyota financial dealers, the 10^th one, which was the approved one, was from Chase bank. They ran it TWO times after that on a Toyota financial place to see if they could get it there instead. Our homeowners insurance and car insurance went up as a result and we cannot buy a new home and cannot take out any credit. Run don’t walk from this place. Too late for us

BUYER BEWARE! High staff turnover, promises broken!!! I purchased a car in May 2013 and the entire sales staff was gone just a few weeks after. My paperwork was lost and redone. I was made promises by the sales person and nothing was noted in the paperwork correctly. Now he’s gone along with the entire sales team and sales management.

Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy. We were a cash customer and they, without permission, ran our credit! Then let’s not forget about the almost $ 900 worth of fees they hit us with in the end. If I hadn’t haggled them down to such an unbelievable deal, I would’ve walked. Never again.

I had to take my toyota tacoma to toyota world of newton for a recall. When i returned home i realized that the oil pan protective plate was missing from under my truck. It didn’t break off, the screws were missing and were taken off cleanly. Their service department representative, Stacey Lampkin, was very rude when i called about my missing part. When i contacted the dealership, they said they didn’t take it and when i asked for a manager, they conveniently said that he was unavailable. I do not recommend this dealership because you go in for a recall and they just steal whatever part they need.

I became a customer of this dealership in the mid 1990’s and have leased a car every 3 years except once during this time and purchased another. So you can imagine how many cars that is. I used to swear by this dealership and recommend everyone who would listen. The service manager in the beginning was a man by the name of John who bent over backwards to make the customer happy. Unfortunately John left some years ago as well as the customer service. The service department manager is not at all interested in customer service. I had an issue with one of the service personnel at the counter who could not explain the details of a 30,000 mile service and Dave the service manager let it get out of hand and even walked away instead of taking over. I emailed the general manager, Chris Dexter, who didn’t respond for a while and dismissed me. It happened again with the same service rep on my current lease so this time when Toyota Corporate sent me an opportunity to fill out a survey I did and told the story exactly how it happened. The service manager called me back and said he spoke to the general manager Chris Dexter and they decided I needed to find myself a new dealership. I told him he has to be kidding. He said they were serious.
I lease a 2010 Rav4 and the other day it decided to stop working. I called this dealership and they told me not only do they not want to service the car they do not want it at the end of the lease, which is at the end of this month. So much for customer loyalty.
DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP!!!

My husband and I recently purchased a 2011 Rav4 from this dealership. My husband had his heart set on the vehicle but in all honestly they are very shady. They gave us a price because we are loyal Toyota customers. My husband decided to buy the vehicle and when I looked over the paperwork they were charging us 349.00 for window etching. I told my husband I did not want to pay 349.00 for window etching, #1 it should have been done already by the fisrt owner and if not etching is a scam. We told our salesman we did not want it and he left to go talk to his manager. His manager came back and told us we had to take the etching otherwise he could not honor the Toyota loyality discount he gave us and the price would jump back up to the sticker. I was disgusted and told him so. This is just bad business, I myself would have walked away and purchased a vehicle somewhere else, but like I said my husband had his heart set on this Rav4. I know when I purchase my new car next week it will not be from them. So for $ 349.00 they lost the sale of 2014 Toyota Highlander. Update: they refunded the 349.00, 8 weeks after the sale. So the manager did respond to our complaint and did the right thing.
