Specialties

Celebrating over 50 YEARS of serving Families and Friends ! Established in 1963.

Serving fried whole belly clams, seafood dinners, fish and chips, lobster rolls, fresh shrimp, scallops and oysters. Dad’s is an established favorite of locals and people who visit the seaside town of Niantic. Offering fried onion rings made fresh daily, and a large array of sandwiches — everything from burgers and dogs to crab cakes, grilled salmon and more — there’s something for everyone in your party. Kids meals are available, too, and an assortment of ice creams, soft serve or gourmet flavors. Great family friendly environment — beautiful views of Long Island Sound — inside and outside dining.

History

Established in 1963.

Dad’s Restaurant began as a small, roadside clam shack on Main Street in the waterside village of Niantic, CT. Open seasonally, it quickly became the go to place for the freshest fried clams on the shoreline. As it’s popularity grew, and its reputation for great seafood and fast service, the roadside shack was expanded to its present size, which includes ample inside and outside dining with beautiful views of Long Island Sound.

With generations of satisfied customers, people who once dined here with their parents or grandparents are now bringing their own children to partake in the Dad’s Restaurant experience. With free balloons for the kids, and an open air atmosphere, it’s a great time for the whole family.
