We have taken our vehicles to Auto Alternative for almost 20 years. We wouldn’t dream of taking our Hondas and Toyotas anywhere else for service! We have always found them to be dependable and honest in their business dealings. Thayre prides himself on providing excellent customer service, and stands behind the work of his technicians. Auto Alternative offers pick-​up and drop-​off service, as well as loaner cars for the convenience of their customers.

I came in today for an oil change and to have my ABS looked at. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.
They changed the oil and let me know that the ABS was working just fine.
It’s hard to find a good mechanic but I’ve found one here at Auto Alternative.
Definitely recommend these guys!

Absolutey OUTSTANDING service! I have never experienced anything like them. The people are honest, caring, genuine and great at what they do. I will do whatever i can to promote their business. I am blown away at their hospitality, service and charcter. Truly, you don’t find people like this every day. They are fanastic!

I will never take my car here again. I’ve never taken my car anywhere I thought was this crooked before. Here’s my story:
I take my car in to get the check engine light checked out. I had already checked the error codes, but I didn’t have the tools to make the fix. After the initial inspection Auto Alternatives calls and offers to fix the problem and a bunch of other issues. Ok, that’s nice. At this point I think they’re just being helpful and pointing other things out. That’s the least they could do since this initial inspection cost over $ 150. I say no thanks on the other issues which include an oil leak that the person on the phone describes repeatedly as ‘really, really bad’ and urges me to make the fix for several hundred dollars. I resist since I checked the oil before I left and I’d been driving the car for a while with only minor oil burning/​leakage that barely required a top off. At this point, I’m still not suspicious or mad. I think that maybe there’s a lot of oil on the car from where the minor leak has happened over a long period of time.
Next day. Auto Alt rep calls me back and says ‘good news’. The repair they quoted me before to fix the oil leak will actually only be a couple hundred dollars since the other work they are doing is close to the part needed to fix the oil leak. Would I like to go ahead and do it? I’m busy and I say whatever… do it. Maybe it will fix the small oil leak I had in the first place. But this is when I start to get suspicious. They knew what work they were going to perform when I confirmed the initial work to be done. How did they not realize this work and the oil leak work had shared labor in the initial inspection? Also, would they have charged me the full price if I had wanted this work done initially? You bet. But wait, it gets better…
A few hours later I get another call. The Auto Alt rep is telling me that they’ve done more work and what we’ll call «Part X» is actually broken. I remind the rep that I had requested Part X be tested before the repair and the rep confirmed that it worked at that point. The rep insists they didn’t break the part and since it’s easy to fix they won’t charge labor. They’ll just charge for the part. Whatever, if it’s broken then I need it, so I say buy the part. I do research online later. There is nowhere on the planet that charges as much as Auto Alt does for Part X. The part was marked up almost $ 100. Additionally, it is very rare for Part X to break. At this point I realize I’m caught in the middle of an extortion attempt. The extortion continues as they call me back to inform me that «Part Y» also needs replaced. Now, I’m really angry and they can tell, so they stop milking me for cash. The repair ends up costing twice as much as the initial estimate. And the best part? I didn’t even get to Brannon’s Crossing (~5 miles down the road) before the check engine light came on again. Did I take it back to Auto Alt? No way. If the car would have broken down in their parking lot, I would have it towed a hundred miles away before I took it here again. Avoid at all costs.

Can’t recommend these guys enough if you have a honda, toyota, or Acura.
Buddy is great on the phone, and my pal Mark’s working in the back of the shop. Took our van in for the once-​over after my wife ran over a 6″ curb. They gave me the rundown – no damage worth repairing – and didn’t charge me a thing.
