Jason and Pete did an awesome job fixing my «new 383 engine» that Fast Times poorly built for me. In short, it was built with one wrong length pushrod out of 16 that caused major issues. To explain what they had to do to fix it would take a page to explain. You can tell they genuinely love working on cars and it’s not just a job for them.

Wonderful place to take your car. They don’t talk down to you and explain everything before and after. Their work is also outstanding!

Untrustworthy. A few months ago we brought our car in to check a flat tire. We were told that they had a tire on hand that was mis-​delivered and was going to be sent back. Steve told us he would give us some $$$ off. We purchased the tire and last week a bubble on the tire appeared. Steve said we purchased a used tire and were out of luck. We did not buy a used tire. Shame on him for not standing behind the products they sell. Will never go here again and will certainly be sharing this poor experience when I can.

What a great automotive repair shop. Steve and his crew are top notch! I brought in my classic car with brake problems. Steve showed me options and pointed out the important items to fix since I had a long list. He called, was upfront on what the repairs would cost and stayed within budget.

This place is great. Steve is honest, and they stand behind their work. they also work on older cars, which most places wont. I even take my small engine stuff to them. way WAY cheaper than a dealer. not only do they work on cars during the day, its their hobby after work as well. those are the types of guys I want working on my cars.

I’ve been taking my vehicles here for 3 years. They do good work, typically in one or two days. They stick to their estimates, which are really competitive. Very trustworthy people. Not sure what else you could ask for in a repair shop.

After getting talked into faulty service by the Midas at Howard and Western when I went there with a Groupon, I finally took my car to Fairlane which had been recommended by a friend. That’s what I should have done in the first place — unless you know a lot about repair work, you should never go to a shop unless it has been recommended! Fairlane took apart the car to inspect the brake job Midas had done, they were honest about what body work they could do and called around to different places to locate the cheapest parts. They fixed a leak Midas noted but didn’t do anything about and only charged me $ 20 for the patch, nothing for their time and service. I am definitely going back, it is worth the extra time to get there to have work done by someone you can trust, thanks guys :)

If you are like me, you have a deep and abiding fear of having vehicles worked on by repair shops and… the dealer.
It’s a trust thing really. Most people don’t know why their car or truck makes that scraping noise now, and have no idea what the repair should cost. In all reality, the average Joe or Joette will never know if the shop replaced a part, or just screwed something that was loose back in and then charged you $ 200.
But then there are shops like Fairlane Automotive.
I don’t say this lightly, but honesty is one of their core values. Steve the proprietor will tell you straight what is wrong, and help you figure out the best solution.
He recently straightened out a car for me that ran very poorly, chronically overheated and was generally unreliable. This show car used to be seen more often on the back of tow truck than making it’s own way down the street. Steve worked through several major issues, letting me know the associated costs with each problem, and got it all done within the agreed timeline.
So if you are battling an older car, it’s very much worth the short drive if you live in the Northwest area. But it’s worth it if you are a 60 618’er like me to make a quick drive out there… Good service is hard to find and it resides in Niles. Stay classy Fairlane.
