Golf-Mil Veterinary Hospital

Just completed our first visit to Golf-​Mil, very impressed all-​the-​way around. Extremely welcoming and friendly environment. Laura (receptionist) was great on the phone and even warmer in person. They were able to get our lab in on very short notice after he cracked/​fractured one of his teeth. Dr. Feucht was outstanding with our dog, I couldn’t have asked for a more attentive and professional Dr/​Veterinarian. She quickly connected with him and was able to examine the tooth without so much as a growl. Due to the damage to the tooth we were referred, after evaluation, to a Dentistry/​Surgery specialist; Golf-​Mil was able to complete the blood-​work required for an anticipated procedure in an effort expedite this process. Looks like we found our new go-​to animal hospital.

Had to see the vet today and met with Dr. Haag. He was fabulous! Spent so much time talking to me about my dog and clearly knew what he was doing. I am thrilled that he worked out and definitely will be seeing him again. I felt way more comfortable this time around and really happy I won’t be searching for a new vet.

Professional, Friendly, Compassionate. We picked up our Dog (from a rescue) at this Vet and if they were closer to our home, I would definitely go there. Excellent. It was so obvious that Dr Haag truly loves animals. Nice

I love this hospital, and so do my cats and dogs. Dr. Haag and his fantastic staff have been taking care of my furry children for over seven years, and I would recommend them in a heartbeat. For starters, they schedule appointments carefully, giving the appropriate amount of time for each visit. As a result I get in to see the vet within minutes of my appointment time. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The doctors take the time to explain everything that is going on with my pet, and answer any questions with a smile. Results of tests are promptly given to me with a phone call from the vet. They also call with reminders and even call after a visit or procedure to see how my pets are doing! This kind of personal attention is lacking from so many businesses today. I’m the 3^rd generation to be coming to Golf Mil. My Grandparents started back when the hospital first opened and still continue to go there today. My mother brings her epileptic dog and 3 cats in. And now myself the 3^rd generation brings my pets in.
Today unfort. I had to come in as an emergency. I called at 430, and my cat had lost weight all of a sudden and now could barley walk. The generous staff told me to come right in and they would see me right away. I was greeted by the front staff promptly and rushed into the room. The courtious techs came in right away to triage my cat since the doc was in surgery and would be out in a min. The New Doc on Staff Dr. Miller was very courtious and very nice. He came in and looked over my sweet 12yr old cat who is like my own child. He found what appeared to possibly be a mass on her belly and took her on back to further evaluate since I was a bit sensitive to what was going on and totally understood. After all was shaved and examined, it was a mammary carcinoma. (cancer) My options were given to me with a very poor prognosis, and as I have had many pets I knew as well she was suffering. This was a fast cancer. Even though my visit was a very sad visit and ended with putting my cat to sleep, I can’t thank the Staff enough for the generosity, and sensitivity with all I was going through. I have been a client for the last 10 years and have been there as a child with my mom. All the Dr’s are wonderful and can’t thank them enough. The Techs and front staff are out of this world and are like walking into your family’s house where they welcome you with open arms.

After taking in the family dog from my parents, he was in dire need of a major check up. I scheduled a first appointment and when we showed up, we were greeted by a friendly front desk. They even asked to get a mug shot of my guy for their records (it also goes on every transaction statement). We met with Dr. Haag who was super friendly, knowledgeable and truly compassionate about animals. Because it had been a while since my dog’s last vet check up, he had a long list of tests and procedures he had to go through, including complicated dental work. From then, we’ve also met with Dr. Mey who is also wonderful.
I love that every time we go there, the staff recognizes and remembers our dog. At every appointment, they never make us feel rushed and always take the time to make sure that any of my questions are answered.
As much as I really loved the staff here at Golf-​Mil Vet, I can no longer afford to bring my senior pup there. Because of all of his health issues, he needs almost monthly vet visits. I found it to be most cost effective to sign on with a wellness plan at Banfield. If price weren’t an issue, there would be no question that I would choose to stick with GM Vet.

I was looking for another veterinary hospital for my 1-​year old dog and to bring my new puppy for her first puppy shots. I found out about Golf-​Mil Vet Hospital through Unilocal,saw positive reviews across the board and decided to bring her here. I am impressed with the attentive and gentle care that the staff give to their patients. Their laboratory tests, services, and vaccination fees are very reasonable. Theirs is a small hospital facility but I don’t mind — and neither do my dogs. They are AAHA accredited and the treatment and quality of care that we receive on our visits attest to that.

Dr. Haag and Dr. Mey are both compassionate, warm doctors who listen to our needs, consistently provide options for care and have always followed up to ensure that all is well with my sweet boys. It’s no stretch to say the whole staff is warm and caring!
In the many years I’ve been a client here, I can tell you my pets are never fearful as we walk through the doors and I promise you I have always left through those same doors knowing that we received high-​quality care (and at reasonable prices.)
Now, I wish I could find this level of care, flexibility and communication at a people hospital :)

I have to say that this place has truly impressed us. The staff is so caring, kind and extremely helpful. We have seen Dr. Beth twice now and each time she has been very thorough with the examination of our dog, but just as important she really takes the time to explain what is going on with him and makes sure that we completely understand the situation.
I know that this is a great place to take our dog and we can rest assure that he is getting the best care. Superb doctor and staff make up this Vet. Hospital!

This is the best team around!!! I cannot say enough about these wonderful doctors and staff. We see them more often than we see our children’s pediatricians. Our Weimaraner has the most horrible allergies and his life is so hard, but Dr. Beth (Elizabeth De Los Monteros) always makes it better. She is tremendously knowledgeable and compassionate. Henry just had a three hour surgery yesterday to remove 5 growths and a cracked tooth. He was loved and cared for like I would expect my children to be. (Of course, he is one of the children.) Thank you to this wonderful hospital for always going the extra mile for Henry! We always be in your debt!

My family has been taking our dogs here for 12+ years now and I absolutely love this place! I work in the pet care industry and deal with vet offices in the west burbs which just makes me more grateful Golf-​Mil is my vet!

Finally a great vet (somewhat) near me! Thank you Unilocalers! This place is exactly as the other users have said, and best of all, you just feel good here. The staff is very personable & caring, hours are flexible, and they do a very nice job of understanding what makes sense for you & your pet (as opposed to just ordering up hundreds of dollars in test b/​c that’s what the manual says).
Best of all, most (all?) of the doctors went to Michigan State for Vet School. Go Green! Go White!

Pet owners know how important it is to trust the care their pet is given. They’re a member of the family. As a customer for over 16 years, you will not find a more pleasant place as Golf Mil Animal Hospital. The staff and Dr’s are awesome. We always receive the same friendliness, support and treatment. A pleasure to return each and every time.
The hours of operation are terrific including the facility which is always well maintained. Referral cases to take our dogs to nearby Vet Specialists specializing in Eye, Joint, and after hours emergency care etc. were seamless.
Appointment reminder phone calls including postcard mailers, including upcoming wellness exams, vaccinations, and dental check-​ups are terrific and great reminders for us (the pets parents). Follow-​up appointments are the next day or two with details as well an update to recovery status and blood tests, etc.

I love them! My husband and I both work the same hours and when we needed to have our cat monitored, Dr Haag actually came in early so we could drop him off! When we picked him up, every one on the staff told us how much they loved our furry little monster. It’s just really warm and I’m glad we’ve got a vet that’s close to home and makes us feel really comfortable taking our pets there.

I’ve had many years of experience with them; we brought all our cats here while I was growing up. Even after I moved away, I continued to come here because they know and love my cat (s). The office staff is very professional and friendly. Currents vets are Dr. Susan Wilner, Dr. Bryan Haag and Dr. Kathy Ilyukhina (aka «Dr. Kathy»). Wonderful, caring and compassionate. They take their time examining and are sure to explain test results and any instructions to us.
I had a cat who had irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and required frequent blood tests, check-​ups and daily doses of medicine. Doctors took great care of him. Toward the end, he lost a lot of weight and began pooping randomly around the house. The vets suggested different things, but nothing worked to stop the pooping.
When our daughter started crawling, we feared she would find and eat a cat dropping. Ultimately we took him in to be euthanized (no shelter would take him). It was hard, and Dr. Haag — while sympathetic — did argue on behalf of Squeaky. Although at the time it made it more difficult, I respect that Dr. Haag advocated for our cat.
This animal hospital also gets an A for efficiency. We have one cat now, and when we didn’t bring him in for his regular check-​up (we got off track with a baby in the house), they not only sent postcards but called us to try to schedule an appointment. When I told her that we were a bit strapped for money, she went over what was necessary and what wasn’t (an indoor cat doesn’t really need rabies shots). They were very nice about all of it. They go the extra mile for your pets — highly recommended!
