Michiana Recycling & Disposal

Michiana Recycling is unreliable. They always have some kind of excuse not to do their job. In the winter, they have missed pick ups because of truck failure, or bad weather, even though the other companies still pick up. There have even been times they have missed our entire street for one reason or another. When you call the office, the girls have their standard «we apologize, but. .. ‚» and give an excuse as to why they didn’t pick up. We are fed up.

First impressions leave a mark. Michiana failed. Customer service made errors and our garbage wasn’t picked up on our first pickup date. I tried to call them to notify them and they were incredibly unprofessional and rude. They stated they will make it in the next few days to get our garbage. Do you know what it’s like leaving garbage out for days on end when you live out in the country? There were a few other kinks that they were also unprofessional about. I didnt get apologies, just lame excuses. Not impressed.

Decent service, low price in the area. Driver is very timely every Monday. Had some minor misunderstandings getting yard waste picked up, but that was resolved with an email. They charge you for the service provided, so if you exceed the agreement, you will be charged. Don’t be surprised.

The driver who normally does our trash clearly forgot to pick up on my street. I called and spoke to someone in customer service who was very rude. The lady told me to leave my trash bin by the curb until next trash day and she will write a work order for someone to come get it, but they can’t guarantee. Ok lady, would you leave your trash sit by the curb for a week? I think not. I called back to speak to a supervisor, this lady wasn’t much smarter. She told me to leave my trash up near my house and that «I’m lucky someone will be in my area, because its not something they normally do, but someone will be in my area picking up trash.» So, today. half of my trash was picked up. Yep, only half. With a bunch of trash beside my can for me to pick up. A bunch of trash still left inside my can. Well done, michiana. I’m switching to Borden. Michiana clearly doesn’t know the concept of customer service. If you screw up, you go out of your way to fix it, not make the customer go out of their way!
