A beautiful Beach for the family and everybody who dislikes crowded places. We really enjoy going there.

Nothing short of gorgeous — probably my fave beach in Florida. The sand is soft, there are TONS of shells(I mean it). Great parking. It’s clean and spacious and the water is beautiful.

Absolutely loved it, the beach was amazing and the day was perfect. Almost gave it 5 stars! We walked all the way to Jetty Park side so my feet were hurting with all the sea shells. They were beautiful but definitely taking my flip flops next time.

LOVE this beach! One of our favorites in Florida! Parking is easily accessible and free. Water is blue, clean and warm! Depending on the weather there is a mild surf but most of the time the water is calm. There is a lifeguard on duty and public bathrooms are within a short walk. Lots of shells and chances to find shark’s teeth. Several times we have spotted jumping porpoises and just the other day the kids saw a manatee swim by. The best part of this beach is the people! Everyone is super chill and very friendly! On Saturday and Wednesday nights there is a fantastic drum circle! So much fun! People of all ages gather to drum, hoop, dance and just have a great time together. It starts around 6pm and lasts to a little after sunset. It’s the best way to watch the sun go down and have a perfect end to your day! During the week there is hoop fitness classes — which are also alot of fun! Check out Peace, Love and Hoopiness to get involved! Such a wonderful town and beach! We came to visit for two days and two weeks later we are still here! Nothing better!

We are residents of Venice and only live a mile from the Venice Public Beach, but when we want to barbecue or have children with us, we head to Nokomis Public Beach. Wonderful combination of long stretch of walkable beach, boats to watch entering and exiting the inland waterway to/from the ocean, many barbecues and picnic tables, clean bathrooms and lots of free parking. Also, a really fun play structure for children. We haven’t used the small outdoor restaurant there, next to the public bathrooms, but it looks great and there are usually short lines. Prices for a hamburger, and beer are very reasonable. There is a life guard.

Great family friendly beach very clean. The place has very clean public bathrooms they also have a family bath room for children and there parents. They have a on duty life gaurd. They also have a bunch of picnic benches for you to eat your lunch at so pack that cooler. They also have a small café with hot dogs hamburgers french fries. Sandwiches and breakfasts sandwiches also pancakes. The prices are fair even a bottle of water is only a dollar. NOW on to my favorite part of this place a long jetty to fish off of. They also have a small bait shop. Lots of people fish here. Great place come early to get the best parking. They also have a small play area for children swings slides ect. Lots to do for free. You can’t beat this place.

I went to this beach because I read it was less crowded than Siesta Key and Lido Beach… and perhaps it was, but it was still crowded! I guess that’s typical in high season in Sarasota/Venice?!

What a lovely beach. white sand and blue water! We came specifically to see shark teeth but found none. Didn’t make a difference the parking was easy and everything is so clean… a pleasant experience.

Great beach. Lots of space. Family oriented. There are drum circles on Friday and Wednesday nights. Basically, lost hippies from the 60’s and resurgence of them in the 90’s in a mash up of drumming, dancing and hula hooping. Draws a huge crowd! Very pleasant to listen to while having a beer and watching the sunset. I’ll be doing this again on my next visit. We also visited the following day to sit and relax. Tons of space on this beach. Sand is smooth. Lots of shells as this area dictates that feature. Restrooms near by.

Nice public beach. It is a great spot to go if you are looking for sea shells. The shore is covered in shells, so shoes are a must. The facilities are nearby and are reasonably clean. He beach was not too crowded and barking was a breeze.

I live closer to Siesta Key Beach, but who wants to fight for a parking spot, then walk what seems like a mile to get to the water? It’s great for a visitor, but if u live here Nakomis Beach is a much better choice. Parking is really close to the water & beach! Nice & clean restrooms & beach is always clean. Plus u can always find shark teeth here! Never see any at Siesta Key or Lido Beach for that matter. Don’t know why? Mysteries of the sea, I guess? LOL! I prefer it to the other beaches that are much closer to my house! That should tell u something! If u like to rent paddle boards or that kind of thing, that’s just across the bridge. Nice little restaurants over there too! Love this lil beach! Give it a try!

Lots and lots of shark teeth! So many shark teeth that we call this beach SHARKTOOTHBEACH!!! We live in Tampa and frequent the Gulf Beaches that are in close proximity to us. However, being so close to the city, they get very crowded. Nokomis Public Beach is the perfect escape! Don’t get me wrong, when the whether is great there can be a bit of a crowd here, but the crowds pale in comparison to the beaches closer to Tampa/St. Pete. Another part of this beach that I love is the size. It is not too wide(ie Treasure Island) and it is not to narrow(ie St. Pete Beach). Nokomis Beach, which we call Casey Key Beach or SHARKTOOTHBEACH, is like Baby Bear’s porridge, it is JUSTRIGHT!!! There is a decent amount of parking here and parking is free. On our last visit, it was perfect weather. We left Tampa approximately 9am and arrived here approximately 10:30am on a Sunday. We beat the church crowd and easily found a parking spot. We spent hours in the sun, swimming, soaking in rays, and hunting for shark teeth. I even built a dribble castle and made all the kids around jealous, so much so that they had to beg their parents for help. They figured they need the wisdom of a grown up if they were going to compete with grown up dribble castles! I highly recommend this beach for someone who need a change of pace. There is also really cute rental cottages next to the public beach access. Those rentals are called«A Beach Retreat» and we were definitely satisfied when we stayed there in the past.

LOVE this public beach! It’s a little off the known path so it’s never very crowded. You don’t get the white sand like at Siesta but it is still nice and clean. They have great restroom facilities. They are clean and well kept. There is plenty of parking. Everything is very close. You don’t have to walk far from the parking lot down to the beach. They also have plenty of showers. This beach is very kid friendly.
